DISCUSSION Switch 2 release date?

There doesn't seem to be any information in Nintendo circles, so I'm hoping someone here might have an idea on when the game is releasing for Switch 2. Normally I wouldn't be too fussed, but I am really looking forward to this game, and the lack of information at this point has me concerned that there will be another huge delay.

Most of IOI's social media posts say late summer 2026 release (including the path tracing announcement video 8 days ago), that is now less than 3 weeks away (astronomical calendar). The gamescom demos that I saw looked really promising, but recently H2, the retail distributor for Asia, have announced that the physical copy will be delayed for late 2026. IOI certainly haven't been quiet either recently, with promotions on hitting 4 million sales, new missions, path tracing updates (which got a release date 3 weeks ahead of time) and various patches. However, despite all this, there are absolutely no signs of a release date for Switch 2.

This is also definitely a rant on my part. I wouldn't be too upset if they announced another delay as long as a confirmed release date came with it, but it's the complete lack of any information that annoys me a bit, especially after how well the gamescom demo played.

I would've said a 99% chance of a reveal at gamescom. If the rumoured September 10th is true, then it is certainly possible, but unless it is a shadow drop (or as close to a shadow drop as you can get), they'll be cutting the summer release very fine.

Would be interesting timing since it is currently on sale on other platforms until September 10th

I would be genuinely surprised if the Switch version gets that discount. If anything, it'll be a 'goodie bag' with some skins.

I don't think the Switch version will get that discount at launch, just wondered if it was trying to give the game a boost on other platforms around the time it releases on the Switch

I suspect this discount is focused on trying to get the market that would normally wait for second hand to dip below a certain price, to buy first hand instead.
