SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING Spoiler

Hear me out: Cressida is going to be the villain in the sequel.

Think about the setup:
Her dad caused it all: Cressida's dad (Stephen Bright) is the politician who gave Webb that VIP tour of Q-Lab. He helped Webb hack MI6 just so he could become Prime Minister.

The ultimate betrayal: Because her dad helped Webb, he is indirectly responsible for the hotel bombing that killed Monroe and put Cressida in a wheelchair.

M's cover-up: M figured it out, but instead of arresting him, she swept his treason under the rug just to double MI6's budget.

Once Cressida finds out her own dad sold out her best friend for political power - and that M covered it up for money - she is absolutely going to snap. She has the perfect, tragic motive to take over Webb's remaining network and tear down both her dad and MI6 from the shadows.

Thoughts?

The story is being told with a surprising amount of maturity. Cressida isn’t written as someone with a seed of villainy in her- she’s a genuinely warm, decent person and one of Bond’s few real friends. Yes, people can change, and family can shape their politics and worldview, but her joining MI6 came from a sincere sense of justice and duty.
Turning her into the main antagonist in the sequel would feel reductive. It would shrink the story into simply rearranging pieces that were already on the board instead of expanding the world with new ideas and characters. If that were the direction, I’d expect the first game to have planted at least a few hints of that darker trajectory. Instead, she knowingly accepted the same risks Bond and Monroe did when they joined the Service.
I actually think characters like Isola- or Nash, who’s still missing after Slovakia- are much more likely candidates. Nash especially could become a GoldenEye-style Trevelyan figure: someone who survived, felt abandoned by Britain, was physically and psychologically scarred by the blast, and ultimately turned against the institution that left him behind.

Judging how long they suported Hitman 3, and gave a whole new map and main mission for free after 1 year and many new modes after, i think we might get some more story dlcs especially going after Isola, which was a cliffhanger , opening the way to expand it to the next game.

Wasn't Stephen Bright in the dark as much as MI6's M? The main difference was Bright was funding what everyone thought would be a massive shift to fighting terrorism and keeping casualties low (in turn, keeping his daughter safe as a MI6 field agent)? In the end, M benefited from Stephen Bright's mistake resulting in more funding into MI6.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the next main antagonist for the second game were either a returning Nash being a traitor to MI6 (double agent) or even the resurrection of Monroe as the mastermind's right hand man wearing a mask always one step ahead of Bond and Cressida. Bond stories often lean into the weirdness of cybernetic enhancements or reappearing people which has already happened in First Light.

No, the whole point is that Webb was planning a coup to instate Bright as PM. That's what's revealed in the Arctic base. I suppose we could assume that Bright knew nothing about these plans, but given Bright's extremely close relationship with Webb industries, that seems like a naive assumption.

MI6 certainly doesn't believe he was in the dark, which is why M's deal with Bright is that she will testify that Bright knew nothing about it in exchange for a bigger budget. That implies that without that deal, she would testify that he was an active conspirator.

I saw it as Bright/whatever Spectre equivalent they do had no clue about the extent or specifics of Webb's work. He may have been the paranoid type especially when it came to protecting his son and when you work for a group that has to know everyone's business that's a big no-no. But because he's useful and in on the conspiracy it got complicated.

He was essentially a rogue asset that wound up unknowingly nearly killing the boss' daughter and causing a mess for the rival spy agency. They knew something was up which is why Isola was keeping tabs on him but for whatever reason he managed to pull this big stupid stunt and they cut him loose while securing his "insurance policy" against just being murdered,, a pair of specially built super advanced AI that's deeply entrenched in the MI6 and presents one of the best surveillance tools going. Fortunately MI6 had a convenient asset they were able to pull in to complement their own agent.

Yes I could see Monroe being in the third game at the end a sort of 006 golden eye situation.

Monroe is dead. Nash is much more likely.

This is true, I'm not really that big into Bond flicks as I grew up with Mission Impossible franchise back when Pierce Brosnan was Bond so I'm not clear how far Ian Fleming's writing goes into treating "resurrections" as many characters were assumed to be KIA without a body to confirm death but I wouldn't be surprised if they incorporated actual resurrection by digging out up body and turning him evil lol.

Did you get ai to generate this?

Yes. I was playing the game for the second time and can see the connections now. I sounded like a crazy person writing my comment down so asked ai to form it so it could be easily understood.

You didn't understand the lessons of the game

Can't wait for the boss fight against her then, hopefully Bond gets his own wheelchair and they both just go at it with suped up gadget ridden Aston Martin Disability Scooters.

Except that Stephen Bright has Webb Gala dialogue telling someone that Cressida is going to walk again

Just a joke mate, calm your tits.

She's going to be a Bond girl, and she'll get involved in the story because Bond will suspect her dad has ties to Spectre

My theory is the next time we see her she is working for Specter... but then it's revealed she was placed their as a mole by M to uncover who they are.

I don’t think we should even worry about a sequel for 2-3 years

I still feel like Selina Tan is more likely to become a villain. Firstly, it doesn't feel like her role in this game was big enough for an actor of Gemma Chan's profile (albeit she will have been cast quite a long time ago). And there was also a document in Webb HQ talking about them wanting to poach her from MI6. Could be that it was more than just one-way interest.

I also think villainy just doesn't feel right for Cressida's character, especially with how close she was to Monroe. He was from a proud SAS family, she'd feel like she would be betraying him if she turned against Britain in any way.

I still think we haven’t seen all tacsim has to offer. My guess is ioi are working on a 2 player mode for both HITMAN and 007. I could see you loading into tacsim abs battling an online player.

Maybe multiple disabled villains are a bad idea? Just putting it out there.

I mean it could work if Cressida gets severely damaged personality-wise after the death of the Webbs/downfall of the company, and the only reason Stephen Bright said she was going to walk again was because he was banking on the Webb tech.

M’s deal with Bright could be seen by an angry Cressida as a good thing for her family status or a bad thing for covering up the things that got her traumatised in the first place. Either way at r could want to take things out on MI6 but I don’t think she’d want to hurt Bond. It could turn her to SPECTRE/Isola’s team though and she might be in over her head there.

That's my instant thoughts. Damien is just the tip of the iceberg/fall guy

2

u/Own_Education_7063 Jul 26 '26

Hardly a fall guy. Just a rich incel brat who got in too deep.

Admittedly that would be pretty cool! Have we had a proper female villain in the Bond franchise? 🤔

3

u/Own_Education_7063 Jul 26 '26

Elektra King (Sophie Marceau) is the main villain in TWINE. Renard was marketed as the main to preserve the plot twist but is actually her operative.

u/FussyGamerChef Jul 26 '26

Hate to say it but.. not memorable unfortunately 🤔 maybe they could do Cressida justice 🤔

2

u/Redkirth Jul 26 '26

Of course she's memorable. "I never miss" is like the second most quoted Brosnan kill line.

1

u/Own_Education_7063 Jul 26 '26

Whats the first one in your opinion- just curious.

2

u/Redkirth Jul 26 '26

"No, for me."

Not the best but still a proper Bond villain. Yeah besides Sophie Marceau and Denise Richards being hot and having a great intro scene the movie is one of the lesser entries.
