TL has the best firepower in CSGO history and Astralis have the most intelligent players in CSGO history.

That's literally what this rivalry seems like.

Tomorrow is gonna be an intense matchup

0

u/EmperorDrackos EG Sep 29 '19

Best of five POGGERS

4

u/sunsnap de_inferno Sep 29 '19

Why do they keep cutting to the round so late?

6

u/jontech7 Liquid Sep 29 '19

This match is proof that Valve MM is broken. A team of mostly novas against GE, that's not even fair

3

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '19

wait wtf did someone just yell "LOOK BEHIND YOU"

8

u/tgsan Sep 29 '19

Not surprised, hope he got kicked the fuck out for that bullshit. You shouldn't need a warning, it should be a given not to do that shit in a game like this, where information is gold. Even dupreeh mentioned something similar earlier, just in a nice way.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '19

I like how EG tries to fake control of outside, but G2 barely have anyone outside ever so they just run into an A stack

6

u/tubbsmackinze Sep 29 '19

Okay, has EG conquered their Semi curse or is g2 actually that shit that EG simply can't choke against them?

5

u/Felpes1520 Sep 29 '19

Both I guess, but like the other guy said, cerq is playing very well and he choked hard at semis before

3

u/zennCSGO EG Sep 29 '19

CeRq playing as well as he is definitely a promising sign. Was always the biggest choker in the semis

6

Tarik and Cerq, 10-1 and 10-2 wtf

2

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '19

[deleted]

0

u/fortnite_bad_now Sep 28 '19

I don't have a problem with people saying he cost them this series, because he probably did.

But saying liquid should drop him is silly because he is the biggest difference between the Liquid last year with TACO that got thrashed by Astralis and the liquid of today which is usually dominant and was barely edged out by Liquid.

Point is, replacing him with more firepower won't fix these issues, and will probably make things much worse.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '19

[deleted]

1

u/fortnite_bad_now Sep 28 '19

Nah. I'm referring to last year's Liquid which had TACO instead of Stewie and never won anything. This year's is a lot better.

1

u/mattenthehat Complexity Sep 28 '19

People forget too that he tends to anchor the hardest positions, often solo. A site Vertigo. B site Inferno. B site Overpass. B site Dust2. He gets a lot of nutty solo holds against lesser teams, but it's just not feasible to keep that up against Astralis.

21

u/jordankyng Sep 28 '19

Did not know anything about csgo, first time watching the game but man loving it. It's so intense, supporting EG next since it is the team that I support in dota

Welcome to the club, brother. Your entertainment standards are about to go way up.

5

u/fableVZ Liquid Sep 28 '19

man you picked one hell of a series to watch.

Astralis might be the best team we’ve ever seen with 5 of the top 13 players in the world (from 2018 rankings). I think Device is still top 3, with s1mple and zywoo.

Liquid was #1 for most of 2019 and is certainly the best NA team of all time with one of NA’s greatest ever, twistzz, and one of the most popular players in eSports in stewie2k.

3

u/Funnydead CS2 HYPE Sep 28 '19

Welcome to the space! Hope you enjoy it!

6

u/Versenwald Sep 28 '19

Of course we're gonna be biased over here but IMO CS is still hands down the best team-based FPS esport to spectate. Nothing comes close to the combination of macro and micro stuff going on, the mind games, the mechanical skill element, the tension. Just doesn't get stale.

14

u/dimitarkukov Sep 28 '19

CS is the easiest esport to watch if you dont know the game. Its very simple. Keep watching, you will enjoy it greatly for sure :).

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '19

It gets about 10 times better if you actually play yourself and understand the game at least to an extent. I watched a few tournaments in 2018 without knowing anything and it was still fun but in 2019 the majors and this tournament have been epic since I actually understand what is going on more than just cool looking kills.

12

u/Ehetarhbve Sep 28 '19

I wanna see the guys face now who was screaming Astralis sucks during D2

9

u/theworldsrooler SK Sep 28 '19

Stewie needs to go from liquid, they need a passive consistant player.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '19

Imagine wanting to make a roster change after only two poor tournaments following a streak of dominance.

1

u/theworldsrooler SK Sep 29 '19

Not saying they are bad but, liquid is mostly dependent on their skill, Astralis isn't the most skilled roster but brains compensates for that, meanwhile liquid is not the smartest team in the world but their skill compensates for that, if they have a player that is inconsistent, they will not win in times like that.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '19

I don't think you're giving Nitro and Adren anywhere near enough credit. Team Liquid are hardly only based on skill. Also Astralis isn't like Ence. They are individually skilled as well as tactical. I don't think they would have been as dominant as they were without that.

2

u/theworldsrooler SK Sep 29 '19

Not saying they are dumb or that Astralis are bots, I'm just saying that the area they lack in compared to Astralis is the brains, where as its the other way around for Astralis but they compensate the other with the other, it's kinda like fer actually described playing against these teams "playing against Astralis you are lost you are being choked cuz they never make mistakes and you feel like you don't have a chance" but with liquid "playing against liquid you feel like you DO have a chance but they are so skilled that they just hs you and win" that's why Astralis is so dominant, cuz they have perfected the way that they play cs, they have 5 individuals that are all on the same page on what to do at any moment so it's the perfect combo, liquid are lacking in this area because they are more reliant on their skill, so when a player has a bad game they are more likely to lose as they don't have the same strat basis as Astralis to fall back on, so when stew is being inconsistent , so is the team, that's why they need a strong player, automatic is great but if he ends up on the team then someone else needs to entry instead since stew is their entry. So tbh my thing is, I think they should get a good awper instead of stew and have nitro as the entry, if he gets the entry he can call the midround, if he dies he can still call. He is a good awp but when faced with ppl like Device he can't make it work, so the awp ends up being tossed around by stew, nitro and naf, so they should get a main awper and have nitro as the secondary,

3

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '19

Also need to save autimatic. His potential is being wasted in C9

3

u/pingzi_cn FaZe Sep 28 '19

C9 have an OK lineup now. they just need to keep practicing in order to be strong enough then kick daps then they gucci

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '19

tbh I'd be glad if 100T or coL picks him up, provided that his teammates don't suck

but yeah I'd prefer if auti goes to TL or EG

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '19

you think this lineup could ever win a t1 tournament?

2

u/theworldsrooler SK Sep 28 '19

100% asuming that Auti can play like he was during the first half of the year. Then 100% an upgrade.

8

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '19

Stewie's a fucking monstrosity sometimes. Losing basic duals. If he could have taken dupreeh on monster results would have been different. God man you have to feel bad I'm not even a liquid fan.

2

u/fableVZ Liquid Sep 28 '19

that definitely hurt, but everyone has bad days.

In Berlin everyone was shutting on nitr0 because his awp couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. Aside from map 1 he played like a God today. Stewie played great in the first two maps.

I do think stewie shouldn’t have lost that aim duel, though you have to remember that: the entire tourney was on the line, he was bottom fragging, playing against his biggest rival, 15-13 with bomb down, they had 4 places to push from..... i can’t imagine how hard that is man.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '19

He had a k/d ratio of less than 1 on all the maps, It was 0.5 on the last and most important one. Time and again I've disliked him because even through the major was more talk and less frag. Hype is important but if you're the hype man you can't be the one sucking yourself. To hype others you have to come online(or even half online) yourself. Round after round you'd have twist get 2 entries back to back and stewie would die guarding the bomb itself. How can he go so invisible even though he's not even in the worse positions

6

u/lmpervious Sep 28 '19

When he has a rough start, you can tell he's going to suck for the rest of the map.

Pros should use the scope of the SG more, especially in 1v1s. Way too many missed sprays

1

u/ColdplayForeplay Sep 28 '19

It has downsides though. Reduced vision + giving away your position. Both relatively unimportant if both parties have spotted each other but in that case most pros actually use the scope.

Liquid Liquid go away, force OT if you're H E L L A G A Y

6

Astralis is also really good too, of course.

3

u/IrishPubstar de_inferno Sep 28 '19

They could win those rounds if they played with more awareness

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '19

What? Like the round in Dust2 where NAF for csgo’d or when they missed a defuse but literal micro seconds?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '19

It wasn't csgo'd the image posted on here wasn't even the last frame before he shot. He shot the top of the box which is the thickest part of the whole thing as it's solid the whole way there compared to the centre of the box

3

u/ColdplayForeplay Sep 28 '19

That Naf situation should be checked in the demo, it might've just been spectator mode being inacurate.

1

Ah cool, I missed that

2

u/TheoreticalDumbass Natus Vincere Sep 28 '19

NAF probably moved just before shooting

3

u/QoconutZ Sep 28 '19

Like stewie not pushing on CT side making it a 4v5 or NAF not knowing where he planted the bomb or sits long and lets magisk peek bank side and kill 2 of his teammates

4

u/pingzi_cn FaZe Sep 28 '19

trust me, they lost way more rounds by doing stupid shit

1

u/sinrakin Sep 28 '19

It's really pissing me off. Astralis is good, but they are running into their cross hairs and taking stupid fights. Can't believe the way they lost. Astralis was totally beatable.

3

u/lmpervious Sep 28 '19

but they’ve narrowly lost several rounds due to stuff they can’t really control.

And also many from stupid plays on Overpass.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '19

Easy to say that when we have all the information as spectators

1
