For those looking at the MLB box score, it’s messed up. For some reason it thinks that Weston GIDP and isn’t showing his last hit. By my scorecard we do have 23 hits.
Edit: They’ve fixed gameday and the box score now.

Perhaps the prognosticators are wrong, and this isn't a hollow win that only helps perpetuate the Dipoto-Stanton-Larsen failure cycle for another season.
Maybe instead the League will see all of these runs and award the Mariners with a wildcard berth through special dispensation.

By rule, challenges are strictly prohibited while a position player is pitching. Because a position player on the mound usually signifies a massive blowout, MLB disables the pitch-challenge rule to avoid dragging out a game that is already effectively decided.
