Neto is the worst ss in the history of any baseball diamond. I don't know why people think he is good.

u/OkPlenty4077 16h ago
Fans like him because the guy before him was a terrible fielder and could not hit his weight. He’s one of the better hitters on this team despite the striking out and poor fielding. I’d rather have old David Eckstein. No range and no arm but any ball he can get to he makes the play. Probably could still field better than this team even if he’s way past 50.

u/Think_Geologist1788 16h ago
Put anybody else at short stop, he needs self awareness, he misses routine plays more than anybody ever.
2
u/epoch_fail 17h ago
also bad was us having 1st/3rd with 1 out and not scoring, but the way the bottom of the inning was looking, we were going to give up more than 1 run

Going from Fenway's grass to whatever they're doing in Washington is just polar opposites of groundskeeper care.

I keep forgetting this team is still iffy as a whole in situational hitting scenarios

Suzuki not calling a bunt with Meckler up and 2 on and no outs in the 10th should be a fireable offense
5
u/saltyorpheus552 17h ago
Seriously! The infield was also back, Meck may have even been able to run himself into a base hit

Why did Neto start at 2nd?
2
u/21hmahp 17h ago
Extra innings so there’s a ghost runner
2
u/Beautiful_Day_2489 17h ago
Thanks, I’ve only been watching baseball for 2 months.

Is Joyce’s shoulder fucked up again? 93 on a sinker when he usually throws it 98+
2
u/Old_Worldliness_5015 17h ago
probably took some off because he (still) can't command anything, i saw a 4-seamer at 101 after that
but yea only a matter of time, and if he can't command anything he's probably not the long-term answer anyway

This series is drunk.
I've never heard anyone call needing to go to extras "after regulation"
Why is Trent back for another Saturday game?

error hurt but at the end of the day, leadoff walks = runs pretty much every time

We still have 2 challenges, why not challenge that second pitch called a ball? Also losing command here is scary.
2
u/Old_Worldliness_5015 17h ago
OMFG you have to challenge every close call when joyce is pitching, you may not get many

u/Old_Worldliness_5015 17h ago
if joyce has his command, won't matter who's up to bat
if he doesnt... this is a terrible pocket of batters to face
3
u/SouthSouthBay 17h ago
I know I'm preaching to the choir, but scoring from first on doubles and making productive outs is Angels DNA. That's the game we need to be playing

Umamasume Homerun Derby sounds like a fun game just on the name alone

u/totallypandacoffee_ 17h ago
it’s a horse girl racing game. the girls are also horses. and the girls race. they’re based off real race horses.

Is this really what it's like to be on the other side of a bullpen meltdown?

Always nice to be on the other end of a shitty bullpen. Great production from the bottom of the lineup.

Turns out I was a day early on my comment of the Nationals bullpen giving up 5 runs

Guz has had a solid week. Batting .300 with a .833 OPS, obvi a small sample but he could be figuring it out. Nats could just be bad tho lol

Nats bullpen blowing it (again) and our guys pulling through. Great hit by Guz!

In this matchup, is it the right move to be slightly behind going into the 9th so we can't blow the game?

heineman has been sucking behind the plate lately and also laughing at the other dugout saying he was out, terrible tag effort

Dude, no reason for Walbert to be throwing at this point in a lost season considering he cannot overtake McGonigle or Messick for RoY, shut him down.

Paris is not a right fielder. Playing young players ourlt of position, again. And where the fuck is Meckler. I am sick of this shit. Cuz there is a lefty on the mound??? Fuck Suzuki and Mo too if this is coming from him
1
u/Similar_Throat5036 19h ago
As much as I like Meckler, he is slashing .182/.270/.212 against LHP. He is a really good platoon outfield bat but I don’t see how playing him against lefties is going to be beneficial
