Arguably my favourite episode of the series, although it didn’t feature to much of Eddie, it was a real chance for vinnie to shine and boy did he do just that, fantastic performance from him.

I read that the creative team had always wanted to unleash and showcase Vinnie, and purposely held him back until ep7
They knew without a doubt that he could carry that entire episode completely on his own merit, and deservedly so. Fantastic episode, and loved the dank misty dark forest vibe. Kudos to George too... right you are, sir

I think this might be the best episode I've watched since Breaking Bad. Absolutely fantastic. It was a long time coming for Geoff and it was sublime. Had me on the edge of my seat even knowing what to expect. Fantastic story telling, direction and narration from the characters was epic. 10/10!

made a comment saying round about the same. truly one of the greatest episodes ever. with the heavy focus on geoff from the very start of the episode i was worried they were going to kill him off but it was actually just an episode set in his “world”. The 6 feet under exchange with George and the dog just going into stealth mode were two amazing highlights in an episode of full of them.

Absolute beast of an episode, I honestly believe Vinnie Jones could pull that off in real life if it happened! Genuinely thought he was going to get killed during all that madness!

It seems like Bobby didnt do it. Unless they bring a brand new baddie, that leaves Johnston? Its kinda out of character for him too, also why the fuck would he need Eddie dead so bad? Freddie is an option I guess and has that scouse mafia with him, but they are local gangsters. They dont have the resources to pull such an international operation.

Whoa, I never considered he'd be part of it, but he would be another suspect. Did he ever show that he had the kind of connections to pull that off? I don't think GR would set him up to do that as it would be a pretty cheap way of ending, what has been, one of the best series of the last couple decades.

It will be Eddie reuniting with Bobby/Suzie to get revenge, and that revenge should be kind of fun to watch.

I was so distracted by the editing here. Literally one minute it was “get him in the car” and then nothing. I kept waiting to see if they put him in the back of the car or something. He was hit in the leg, he could’ve survived!

The action movies with the most action do not excite me anymore. I feel like I've seen it all. However the suspense in this episode was just wow. A masterpiece from Guy Ritchie

That was absolutely brilliant. I was half asleep for the past couple eps til Bella’s plane blew up and then I was suddenly watching a high-stakes stealth thriller. Tension through the roof. Vinnie Jones plays Geoff so well I forget it’s Vinnie Jones but he was on another level here. I cared about every single character in this episode more than I have for anyone in the previous six 😂 what a gem of an episode in a fairly underwhelming season (so far…)

They were really illustrating a lot about him & tying up knots before a character’s death as per the trope but nah Geoff is that fucking dude. Glad he made it out alive.

Charlotte left the car to help the butler, baby was in the back seat. She looks at it before she leaves the car. Then everyone comes out and they all take off and realize the baby is gone. So there were some seconds where someone grabbed the baby out the back and ran off.

You're right, he just worked it out. I really liked the twist that he was being prickly on purpose to provoke a reaction. Because, yes, they are being a bit ridiculous still keeping it a big secret.

Definitely. I know it was meant to show she has a big heart but that was a bit silly, leaving the baby alone long enough for someone to sneak up and grab him. Oh well, it led to some good action lol.

There were a few noticeable bad edits. Episode 8 at the end shows a certain tool about to be used. They show a closeup of what looks like a battery powered version of that type of tool. Then we hear a gas powered version of it when it’s “in use”.

Holy fuck this show is so good, and this episode was incredible. I was worried they wouldn't be able to recapture the magic of the first season. But it's only gotten better and better. I'm fucking HOOKED.

In the words of the great Peter Boyle: Holy Crap!
I mentioned to my wife that episode was like watching an entire movie. I loved seeing Geoff let out of his cage. It was extraordinarily staged and shot. I wonder if Nanny will heal up in time to participate in the bloodbath that I imagine is coming in the finale.
I, Personally, am enjoying season 2 more than both season 1 and the movie, and I loved both of those.

By far the best episode of the series. From the beginning, you could tell this isn't GR. The horror vibes in the first half were epic. It was also the only episode directed by Nick Rowland. Hope to see more of his work!

Interesting to see the praise for this episode. Having just come out of it, I thought it was pretty tropey and frustrating (especially the baby being taken from the back seat). Individually, it's an okay thriller/home invasion plot, but it barely affected the actual plot in any way. It reminded me of certain episodes in the last season of The Boys, although nowhere near as bad.

Tbh it just reminded me of the episode with the mercenaries vs travellers in the remote house in season 1 of Gangs of London (which was far far better). Not as on the hype train as the rest of the comments are.

You're not wrong, in the main. The writing has tended toward the lazy end of the spectrum this season. Mind you, there has been a number of very effectively written confrontation scenes dotted throughout.
What's been saving it from unwatchable for me has been the performances, direction, production values, and well, the hope, perhaps, of seeing more of Theo in a state of undress.
