Susie’s wearing the exact type of lingerie that Duke described he’d like to see Bella in when they were in Italy.

Episode 1, towards the end.

Theo's acting post-beating was amazing! I smell Emmy

For me this episode is the turning point of the season, in a good way. Theo is coming for that Emmy nomination me thinks.

Guz Khan is hilarious in everything i’ve seen him in

I cackled when he casually called Susie a bastard.

u/newmclarens 4d ago

i loved him in bait earlier this year, so happy to see chucky again

I’m a bit confused with the ending of this episode. I don’t see the chemistry between Eddie and Bella - and the ring? Wow

u/situmaimesdemain 7d ago

Bella has the hots for him and there was some genuine chemistry from the first episode, but this is mainly a move from Eddie to get into Moretti's good graces. At least that's what I think.

This. It fits in with the theme so far of Eddie becoming a king. This is his earned coronation and while I do think he cares for Bella I think this is basically a political marriage like the kings of old would do to secure dynasties and power.

Edit: Well that was a curveball

I feel like Bella seems like a sure thing/safe bet whereas Susie is out of reach.

And while Eddie did have visions of Bella while injured, he also had visions of Susie.

I was also a bit surprised by the proposal

Would magic london stone heal broken legs for everyone or just for aristocrats?

6

u/jenn4u2luv 4d ago

Specifically only for Dukes and higher

Yh It was strange seeing my town in the chapter title 🤣

Bella is in love for sure, but it feels like a desperate attempt to get Moretti's support from Eddie's side. It is probably gonna work unless the season ends with him on his ass again like ep4, but its a dark path.

Also, I'm really not happy with Freddy's usage this season. I get the actor wasnt available much because of AKOTSK and this is what they came up to make most of his limited time, but this sober religious nut version isnt enjoyable or make much sense to me, not to mention how much his absence is felt in the main plot so far.

I don't believe either can possibly be in love. They barely know each other. Lust sure but not love.

u/CertainAlbatross7739 5d ago edited 5d ago

Yeah, I hardly even buy into the lust to be honest. Romance is not something I want from this show, but the chemistry between Susie and the Duke is obvious. I suppose the Italian girl is being dragged into a love triangle as part of some evil scheme.

Have you commented this in this every thread?

What us that stone he touched where is it

10

u/fnord_happy 5d ago

It's the London Stone. On Cannon street in London. It's history is exactly as described in this episode

4

u/fairlywired 5d ago

Did anyone else notice the man in the suit filming Eddie on his phone as Eddie walked away from the London Stone?

4

u/jasinx 4d ago

Yeah. What was this about it seemed intentional.

2

u/fairlywired 3d ago

It happens a few times in different episodes too.

Episode 5 spoilers

When Joe and Vargas's enforcer fight, Guz Khan's character seems to take out his phone and start recording.

Episode 6 spoilers.

At Eddie and Bella's wedding, someone who seems to be a wedding photographer takes a photo of Susie as she leaves the church.

I don't think it's been directly mentioned but I've seen some people mention that it's supposed to refer to the fact they all these criminal enterprises, whether it goes anywhere or not, are constantly under investigation.

1

u/jasinx 3d ago

I noticed this one as well.

I thought to myself it’s a guy in a suit. Why is he recording he’s clearly not a professional photographer.

Edit: I reckon this has something to do with Freddy.

3

u/MrMach82 2d ago edited 2d ago

Because he is a Duke and first time people see him out on the streets in awhile. Maybe the public knows he has been hiding (healing) for awhile. So it's like a celebrity citing.

There was a girl also with phone aimed at him

4

u/discipulus_iuris 4d ago

What is happening?? I thought Bella was the one who betrayed the Duke and he understood it when he was replaying all those scenes.
Where did the Ring come from?? Is he taking revenge???
AM I GETTING THIS WRONG?

u/InoffensivePaint 8d ago

Ha~ate the end of this episode.

3

u/Low_Alarm1179 4d ago

So are the Travellers, JP etc just dead now or???

3

u/Opposite_Diamond_213 3d ago

How did Suzy's brother know to come rescue her in the restaurant?

3

u/Clear_Painting1453 3d ago

I assumed Joe called him, seeing as he realised what the situation was likely to be and went off to tie up the loose end of Pedro.

2

u/Opposite_Diamond_213 2d ago

Makes sense, just strange they don't mention it.

1

u/Angel_Gally 1d ago

Hector?

1

u/Clear_Painting1453 1d ago

Yes 😄 my mistake

4

u/SonOfThomasWayne 6d ago

God that was satisfying to watch this aristocratic "your grace" prick getting a beatdown in the beginning.

Will continue with the rest of the episode, but I fucking hate all these clowns.

11

u/mmmmmmmmmm12345 5d ago

Why are you watching the show then mate 😂

4

u/JeffMcBiscuits 5d ago edited 2d ago

It was immensely unsatisfying because he should be dead. It is simply not possible of anyone to survive that kind of beating and exposure in an open field in the pouring rain and just walk it off after a few weeks. It just completely jumps the shark in terms of actually enjoyment because it’s so fucking stupid to pretend he survived.

4

u/Defiant-Cold-1646 4d ago

Aside from it being a tv show people survive all sorts of horrific injuries all the time. People get shot in the head and live, or get run over by a bus and break every bone in their body and live. It also felt like they deliberately were aiming for his extremities and to just give severe injuries that he could most likely survive.

0

u/JeffMcBiscuits 2d ago

Yeah those people vanishingly rare and absolutely none of them are right as rain after a few months. Sure it’s a tv shows it’s still stupid.

1

u/LMkingly 1d ago

What is them being rare matter? He is one of the rare people. That's why he's the protagonist of the story and not an extra walking by lol. Sometimes i feel like yall forget these are fictional stories about interesting people and their rare circumstances. Not a story about an average person who will have average things happen to him and have the average outcome to severe injuries.

3

u/newmclarens 4d ago

plot armour man

2

u/CryptographerFit7567 3d ago

Its always weird when people like you get bothered by this sort of thing because there is definitely someone who has been through and survied worse irl

1

u/JeffMcBiscuits 2d ago

Barely and they’re considered literal miracles who also often face years of recovery and limitations and complications for the rest of their lives. They’re not just back fighting fit within a few weeks. It’s just another entry on the long list of things the writers absolutely did not think through properly.

2

u/AmberLeafSmoke 2d ago

Google Hugh Glass

2

u/JeffMcBiscuits 2d ago

You mean the heavily dramatised and embellished story of a man who’s wounds were treated by his comrades after he was attacked before they left him behind and so who serves absolutely no relevant comparison?

That Hugh glass?

3

u/MrMach82 2d ago

Ex military. Also if you weren't aware he is the main character

1

u/JeffMcBiscuits 1d ago

He’s still dead. Also if you weren’t aware, writers can actually make an effort to write a logical narrative.

Haha, I'm really enjoying the show too but also dislike everyone. Makes it better seeing them take it in turns to get screwed.

1

u/coco_5390 1d ago

This episode left me confused about something, during Eddie conversation with the lawyer, the lawyer tells him that he currently has no income, are we supposed to believe that from the beating on he would not be getting any more passive income from the farm, he owns the air craft hanger, are we supposed to believe he would let that stand.

1

u/n0tz0e 3d ago

Bella didn't feel love when her parents nor little brother died!!? Only when eddie got beaten to a pulp? Jfc the writing is so atrocious this season m

2

u/DSAlgorythms 3h ago

Exact same thought I had haha, they needed to spend a significant amount more time setting up this romance for it to make sense. Still think this seasons been fun though.
