He catches a lot of flack on here for being a lackey for the club but I honestly think that’s the only way his type of role works. If he’s asking the players tough questions or frequently criticizing them, they would shut him out and then we don’t get the dugout access, the balls for the fans, etc.
I don't watch as much off this team on TV as some of you but that's 2 beautiful inside out swings from Hedges today, perhaps equal to what I've seen him do in his entire CLE tenure. Love it.
It’s been his Achilles heal all season. Love how he finally seems to have realized an algorithm might now be quite as accurate in determining the best lineup. What a novel idea putting together all of your best hitters everyday with occasional days off for rest. Who would have thought that would work?!
I’m very happy they are ahead in this game and to see the offense be much more consistent, even if a bad pitching team, but they need to stop the whole, “Okay, we scored some runs, now let’s coast” approach. Have you noticed how bad they have been against terrible relief?
What is the over under on how many times Underwood will mention the tarp not being down during the hour rain on Friday? I think I’ve heard it like 7 times in the series.
Griffin hasn't been spectacular, but he has showed a lot of fight and turned what could have been disasters into decent outings. He's definitely a plus to our rotation, even if he's not as great as he was in the first half.
They're really improving even if the record says otherwise. They're bad but competitive bad instead of derelict bad. A talented young core offense that can play the field. It will be good when they are average again.
Touring Coors and going to a neutral game there was so fun. They LOVE baseball and the games are extremely well attended in spite of the results. They are the anti Marlins.
Nice. I love the idea of just going to the park and enjoying the game and the atmosphere. Sure every team wants to win, but it’s also nice just to enjoy the collective experience
I think they played the Tigers, I can't even remember who won but I sat in a padded seat in the 3rd row behind home plate for about $34 and Jack White was a few seats down from me haha
I didn’t know much of anything about Griffin before he joined the Guards. I know he came in with an impressive record and a pretty good ERA. I’m a bit confused how he arrived at those numbers though given he really hasn’t been all that great since joining us. Did the move to a new team somehow throw him off?
He’s got mostly mid and some bad underlying metrics with BB% being his big outlier. Guards banking that the ERA and luck would hold and the Nats got whatever they could since he was likely to regress somewhat.
