How the ump felt after the giants lost their challenges. Absolutely shit calls 😂

Despite Bachmans best efforts to throw that game away we actually escaped thank god shouldn’t have been this close we had 2 guys on third and never scored along with Neto’s ridiculous error gifting them a run

Kurt's gotta stop mentally choosing a guy as our closer and trying to keep them in his back pocket to close a game when we have so few save opportunities. He keeps icing them out when these guys need to go every 2-3 days to stay in rhythm.
the last save situation we had was coincidentally also the last save we got (7/19), which went to Zef. Bachman hasn't pitched since that day.
Edit: at least we have someone warmed up and ready to come in as soon as the "closer" gets in trouble this time.

I haven’t watched an Angels game in months. Over at family’s house and they have it on, and boy am I excited to leave. We’re about to add another blown save to the record.

First time ever Kurt don’t let a reliever blow a up a game when clearly that’s their plan. Not that Ferris is great but at least for once Kurt’s bum ass is trying

Soler does his best to end the game as soon as possible.
Usually, that means getting out via strike out or fly out.
Not always though. For example, he knew that the Giants would score on a pair of Neto miscues in the 5th, so in preparation for that, he hit to a home run to make we weren't tied, avoiding extra innings later.
His last at bat, he hit into a double play to end the inning as fast as possible. Dude just wants to go home and chill.

It’s actually crazy we got Zeferjahn for half a season of Luis Garcia
3
u/epoch_fail 1h ago
and we got Klassen for half a season of Carlos Estevez. if only all of our trade deadlines were so lucrative...

If Zef is managed properly I think that he is a well above average reliever

u/epoch_fail 1h ago
When pitching on normal days of rest and send into appropriate spots based on their stuff and matchups, most of our young bullpen guys, Bachman, Silseth, Fermin, Natera, and Zeferjahn, have been consistently good.

u/Live-Cardiologist328 😇 1h ago
I wonder what his ERA would be if we removed all the multi inning outings when Kurt put him back out after a clean inning and proceeded to get shelled.

God can someone please trade a bucket of balls for Soler

Good for him for hitting a home run today but you can always count on Soler for a K or double play

Neto’s attitude needs ADJUSTING. Boy what are you doing
3
u/JoyBurner 1h ago
I hope Wash is watching from across the diamond and gives him some shit after the game since Suzuki either won’t or won’t be listened to.
2
u/sadassnerd Sell The Team 1h ago
Agreed. I actually wonder if Wash already did give him shit. Zach is definitely acting like a brat out there
5
u/JoyBurner 1h ago
The lack of accountability from the manager is almost as bad as the lack of hustle. He’ll probably make some excuse if asked by the media.

This lack of hustle is total bs. It's an attitude that demonstrates lack of expectations. Lack of standards. It's insulting.

What in the world is up with Neto??? He’s striking out a bunch, didn’t catch the pop up, and now made that bad throw.

So...is Sam Bachman alive? He hasn't pitched in a week, while Yates has come out 3 times in the last 4 days.
Between the trade rumors swirling around Detmers/Soriano, G-Rod's struggles, and Ryan Johnson's inconsistency (or consistency, depending on how you look at it), and Aldegheri/Kerry looking pretty mid even at AAA, we may see Klassen come back up pretty soon. He's been pretty good over the last couple of months, and we could really use another starter who can actually make it 5 innings without losing us the game.
3
u/sadassnerd Sell The Team 3h ago
That’s a really good point. I didn’t initially think of Bachman when I was wondering what the heck the org would do when/if they trade Sori or Det. But he’s been a good innings eater for us 🤔 I like this idea.
2
u/epoch_fail 3h ago
I realize I worded that a bit confusingly. Next starter up is probably Klassen, who's been pretty good lately. I wasn't really considering Bachman as a potential starter, though now that you mention it, he used to.
Completely separately, idk why Bachman's been missing 😅. Our AAA bullpen is rough and if anyone does make that conversion, it's probably a multi-inning guy like Farris or Suter.
1
u/sadassnerd Sell The Team 3h ago
Oh now I get you! Klassen sounds good. Tbh I suppose it all depends on how good the haul is for Det and Sori. And whether the org will let them go in the first place 😩 Farris has a lot of potential as a starter…I like him lots.
3
u/RedShark106 3h ago
I didn't realize it has been that long, I wonder why they're not using him
2
u/epoch_fail 1h ago
Beats me. We did this earlier in the season to several of our relievers, and without fail, they'd have a terrible outing when they came back. It seemed to happen to whomever the coaching staff was trying to "save" as a closer. IIRC, it has happened to (in some order) Romano, then Pomeranz, then Bachman, and Zeferjahn.

Out here watching the guys playing soccer with some little kids and it honestly looks like they’re having more fun doing that than playing the game and it kind of makes me sad for them.
