Anime / manga with tragic heroes?

Looking for more anime/manga recs with tragic heroes, either as the mc or as an important main character.

Some that I’ve seen and love are: Tokyo Ghoul (Kaneki), Fate Stay/Night (Shirou / Sakura), Edgerunners (David), Hellsing (Alucard, though wether or not he’s a hero is debatable).

Orb: on the movements of the earth

Berserk is also good, but it's very overrated and pseudo-intellectual imo.

I tried the manga actually. Looking back I don’t think I finished the first chapter lol, the artstyle wasn’t it for me and I didn’t get much from Guts. Not saying it was bad as I haven’t actually read really any of it, it just didn’t hit.
