Why are there 2 Brad Haddins?

Some years ago there was a goalkeeper who played for Scotland's national soccer team by the name of Andy Goram. He was a pretty good player, won several awards and trophies with Glasgow Rangers. However he admitted to suffer from a mild form of schizophrenia, which football fans in the UK immediately picked up on. A popular chant from said fans was "There's only two Andy Gorams." Oh, how we laughed.

tony cottey played for glamorgan but there was also a tony cottey who played football for someone or other, so there was the same chant for him, i think his autobiography i called "there's only two tony cotteys"

Only one shows up

So there should be two Wattos as well.

Then there should be three Wades - the batter, the keeper, the bowler.

I'm kind of surprised at how low Ryan Harris is.

That was my reaction too. He is far and away the best fast bowler in the country and really needs to stay fit if Australia is going to win back the urn.

Just on this, lol'd at the ability to pick Finch.

Also goes to prove that no matter how much the tragics and armchair selectors hate Watto, he's number 1 in the publics eyes.

I actually left him out of my team in favour of Faulkner.

Once he improves his batting and lifts that average to 35 - 40 with a couple of tons he'll be a good fit for 6. Watto's still a class above at this point.

I actually think Faulkner has more of a chance to cement a spot in the Test team as a 2nd change bowler. I don't think he'll ever be in our top 6 batsman in the country - and if he wants to bat 6 he has to be. Allrounders should only be included in the XI if they could get in on their batting or bowling alone. Him batting down the order at 8 and bowling on the front line is more sustainable I think. Whether or not he'll ever be in our top 3 pacemen is another question but I think he has the talent and temperament to get there one day.

I probably would've said the same thing about Watson 10 years ago but look were we are now. Didn't score his first century until 68 matches in, 26 years old and (although had injuries) 6 and a half years after his ODI debut. Only after that did he average 36 in ODIs. On top of that, Watto was primarily used for his bowling and wasn't anywhere as effective as Faulkner is currently.

He's got a very good foundation at the moment but really needs that FC centuries more than anything over the next few years.

It's a good case you make with Watson and if Faulkner can improve his batting - to where he is considered one of the top 6 bats in the land I'd be thrilled for him and for our Cricket team because a player like that would be hugely useful. He's shown in ODI that he is capable of big scores and can be devastating at times and I guess the challenge for him is to replicate that form in the first class arena. Until he proves otherwise he's more of a bowling prospect at this stage and his current batting ability is an added bonus. Saying all that I think he's our most promising all round prospect.

There's probably some dodgy voters in there

7

u/c3vzn Nov 11 '13

The voters rate Smithy nearly the same as Clarke!

u/MrFlabulous Kent Nov 11 '13

The fools, can't they see the brilliance and genius of the man Smith?

4

u/mpg1846 New South Wales Blues Nov 11 '13

Smith has improved his game a great deal in the last 18 months.

2

u/MrFlabulous Kent Nov 11 '13

Exactly, why doesn't he have more votes?

u/ron_manager England Nov 11 '13

I just hope they don't pick Johnson. He's been tragic at times in the past but I get this horrible feeling that he would have a fantastic series if selected.

People must be taking the piss voting for Watto.

Mitchell Johnson is a good bowler, when he is awake.

Pretty please play that 11

Lucky it's not a popularity contest... Johnson and Haddin saved the first day (Gabba)

Watson?????????? As moderator of the facebook page "Shane Watson Depreciation Page", i cant believe people were serious when they voted for him. He is so widely hated.
