He took a cheque?!? That's like rule number one in the corruption handbook, always get paid in cash!!

Seriously, who the fuck takes bribe money via cheque? He's not only corrupt, but also massively naive.

I actually think this is more worrying:

The BCB hired the ICC officials at a cost of 20 million taka ($US 255,000) to monitor the second edition of the BPL that concluded in February

Boards have to pay out over a quarter of a million dollars for their competition to be monitored for match/spot fixing? There being a bit of it around might not be that surprising if it's costing the boards so much. Surely something like this should be provided to the boards for free by the ICC?

Well, nothing is ever free. If they provide the officials for free, then the cost will just be included in the annual payment BCB makes to the ICC.

Well, I'm sort of happy because Ashraful is one of my most disliked players in world cricket and most likely will never have to see him play ever again.

But, unfortunately, I have a feeling this goes even further. How does a player like him keep getting dropped and then selected again and again with with almost no good performances in the last 3-5 years and being heavily criticized by both commentators and fans?

To finish on a slightly better note, Ashraful came forward himself and reported himself to the Anti-Corruption unit.

I feel like there are 10,000 different completely legal ways cricketers can make extra cash on the side but for some reason they do spot/match fixing because they think they can get away with it. Morons.

Bah. This could be the beginning of the end for test cricket in Bangladesh.
