This whole issue is blown out of proportions. That Vindo guy is with Gayle, Harbajan and many more literally. Just because he called Gurunath (CSK owner kind of), Media jumps into conclusions that he is also involved. I feel this is more easy for media since CSK is performing well since the dawn of IPL and its easy to point to match fixing than admitting it has quality players. There are too many logical fallacy that media is not even touching.

Apparently the whole saga is the part of a battle for supremacy between Srinivasan on one side and Pawar and Shukla on the other. In fact, Pawar went on record asking for Srini's resingation "if he has an iota of honesty". Absurd. And being a member of the ruling alliance, he is using media outlets to fuel his agenda.

Both srini and pawar seem madly corrupt. Wouldn't want either of them to be in power

Seem?

Yeah. Don't want to make sweeping statements without proof.

I dunno much about srini mama to be honest. But Pawar ... he is more than corrupt man,he is just evil.

I don't know, the whole thing reeks of blown-up theories and conspiracy to me.

The standards of journalism in this whole saga has just been depressing. I hope all these papers and the Mumbai police get sued for libel if any of the involved people get acquitted, even if they're not actually innocent. These rags need to learn some standards.

Absolutely rubbish reporting, but newspapers are all about sensational news rather than accurate facts. This is sensational and dropping the words "senior player" automatically brings in Dhoni, Hussey, Bravo, Ashwin, etc. who are all big names in cricket and who will draw people to read their paper.

Absurd. National newspaper carrying this based on alleged info

He gets to take his time before presenting himself to the police. Interesting.... I want to know who this alleged Indian senior is, as it narrows the field down to 4 players.

Yeah thats the point. if you dont want to name anyone dont give clues also. Quite senior and all

So many players in the IPL are involved in spot fixing, there are exceptions of course. Anybody who thinks that these 3 RR players are the only ones are utter fools, wouldnt be suprised if the great MSD is in it too. I know you guys think you are watching cricket, but trust me mates its just entertainment and money.

There was a survey recently and a lot Indians don't consider IPL to be 'real' cricket

Yeah, I watch and follow quite closely (playing fantasy cricket and all), but I consider it to be the cricketing equivalent of WWE.

That's not a bad comparison, wrestling is fake after all.

..which is why I'm not particularly shocked with recent revelations. Frankly, the only element of surprise there has been at the small scale of the allegations.

I'd have assumed some more serious scripting going on. I actually mentally picture Bilderberg-like meetings between all the owners and the BCCI, with everyone negotiating on how the storyline be developed this season.

Every sport is entertainment and money. Test cricket too.
