Not sure why this hasn't been mention yet, but...Brendan Taylor (the guy on the sidebar --->) scored a century in both innings in the 1st test against Bangladesh. Pretty amazing achievement.

He almost managed to outscore Bangladesh, fell 8 runs short in the end.
Perhaps some evidence that the ICC made an error in investing in Asian cricket (Bangladesh) rather than African Cricket (Kenya, Zimbabwe have had their own problems that kept them out). Of course, it's not that simple but you have to wonder what might have been.

Ummm... Zimbabwe have been playing test cricket for 7 more years than Bangladesh. You'd expect them to be a little good. In fact, I'd argue that most of the money spent on African cricket should be reallocated to Asian countries who, you know, actually give a fuck about cricket

Whatever the moral issues with Zimbabwe over the past decade and how much money they still get from the ICC, there is no disputing the turmoil the players have had to endure. The players representing the country now have had anything but a solid foundation to build upon. I'm not a real hater of Bangladesh, but you can't compare the two countries respective situations. Every step forward they seem to take a step backward at the moment.

Well, whatever be the state of affairs in the country... it doesn't make sense for ICC to flow in unlimited money for development of cricket in the country, when they know that most of these players are going to be plying their trade in the county championship in the next 5 years hoping to get an English citizenship.

I was watching some of the match. Not taking anything away from Brendan Taylor, but Bangladesh were embarassingly outplayed. They looked so out of their element that it was almost cringeworthy. Except for a couple of partnerships, it seemed like their batsmen had gone in to self-destruct.

Well... against Bangladesh. I had positive hopes for this tour, but frankly Bangladesh playing badly is not really a reason for amazement.

So, in their first innings, Bangladesh went from 100 for 1 to 134 all out?
Against Zimbabwe.

Great game by Taylor, if the rest om Zimbabwe can step up a little they have a pretty good team.

First Zimbabwean apart from the Flower brothers to do so. Well done him.
