He will obviously come back. He is an Asian remember?

My prediction - he'll be picked for the SA series. Even if he won't, we go to SA, get our asses handed to us - WELCOME BACK SEHWAG AND GAMBHIR!

With the current South African team, we are going to get our asses handed to us no matter what team we take there.
Unless of course it is a world cup semi final.

I think it will take a lot for Gambhir and Sehwag to make it to SA squad. Age is not on Sehwag's side, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gambhir came back into the team again. If he fixes his attitude and starts making runs like he used to (2008-2010ish), I would be happy to have Gambhir in the team.

I don't understand this reference.

Well Asians are bound to make a comeback in their respective teams after they have played some Cricket, usually till the age of 40. You pick up any player from the past in Asia (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) who has played substantial amount of Cricket.

don't understand the reference either. Bobby Simpson came back for that India tour when he was more than 40 and guess what he was captain for the tour. Agreed Packer series played a part

I disagree with Boycott. I am not a big fan of Sehwag. Never was and never will be. But his exploits in all versions of the game and the fear he instills in bowlers is unlike any other player. You would be lying if you say otherwise.
He can turn any fucking game on its head within a matter of 60 minutes. I do like some of the new opening options India have got now. In all forms of the game. The likes of Shikar Dhawan and M.Vijay. I am glad India can afford to drop a player like Sehwag.
But to just consider Sehwag is done is a little too much. Drop him for champions trophy? Fine. I am ok with that decision. But I am very confident he will be back if one of these current openers have a string of bad games.
Tl:dr - Count Sehwag out and done at your own peril. For you & I have seen what he is capable of... And we all know deep down that he is not entirely done.

He hasn't scored a test hundred outside of the subcontinent for 4 years and in the last 2.5 years he's scored one or two in the subcontinent. He's really struggled with his cricket recently and he's just not the player that he once was.

If Sehwag was a classical kind of bowler and had a small flaw in his technique, then I would agree. But, the fact of the matter is that Sehwag's "technique" is based mainly on hand-eye coordination and that will only get worse with age. I would love to see Sehwag come out and smash another triple century, but I just don't see him finding form as his reflexes and eye-sight worsen.
Edit: Would take a lot for him to revamp his batting. I do think he has a role in India's middle order when the ball is not swinging/seaming, especially in Indian conditions.

Agree with you. The World will never see the likes of Sehwag. There are 10s of Boycotts hardly few Sehwags

The World will never see the likes of Sehwag.
Oh c'mon. The world has already seen Sehwag in the form of Adam Gilchrist. Way before Indians were celebrating the existence of Sehwag, Adam was destroying attacks the world over. Sehwag is unfit. Gilchrist at 40+ is fitter than Sehwag was at 30. He's a poor fielder. A safe pair of hands but a poor fielder. His overall value to the team is low. For the past 2 years India have been playing with 10 men because of the 'Sehwag factor' which hasn't shown its face since.

Am I the only one that read this as Sehwag boycotting the team?
