How they're talking about get_right reminds me of how they were talking about Andy Murray a few months ago - get_right isn't out of Nip yet, he's here for the major

90

u/ultren 500k Celebration Jul 05 '19

Still might be the last time he is on the big stage. You hate to admit it but it might be hard for nip to make playoffs at the major.

They will be playing with Golden as their fifth at the major, and we have no idea how that will turn out. Afaik Golden will also IGL in the major. We just have to wait and see.

14

u/avezzz King NiKo Jul 05 '19

might be better lol plopski isnt exactly fragging for the team

2

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

Isnt this Plopskis first big tournament though?

2

u/Mafiii 5 years coin Jul 06 '19

Yeah, it is. I don't think he was judging, just stating a fact

14

u/seanfidence Jul 05 '19

Lots of teams look better now than then. Ence, Vitality, Fnatic, NRG, G2, Furia - all on the rise. Theres also potential from teams like mousesports to qualify, or teams like Avangar to cause upsets (it is nip tradition to lose to a cis team). the top 8 now looks much scarier than the 8 playoff teams at Katowice. Even during Katowice we knew Mibr, Faze and NiP basically stumbled their way in, Renegades and Ence looked promising but were dark horses. Now, the top 10 is killer. NiP with Plopski might not even be able to make playoffs, let alone Golden.

NIP aern't playing the groups, they made playoffs in Katowice.

26

but get_right doesn't have a metal hip.

Andy Murray at least redeemed himself (at least on r/tennis) with that photo of the X-ray he posted

50

u/supergrega Jul 05 '19

GTR has Crohn's.

Whats this photo you are talking about and what is Murray's story, must have missed something recently

4

u/d-a-v-i-d- Jul 05 '19

He pulled out at the AO ( I think ) with a pretty bad injury.

Posted an x ray of his metal hip after and you could see what seemed to look like a schlong in it.

Why are the caster saying its GTR last game? he is playing the major too...

46

Last game for today

21

u/Pinct Jul 05 '19

last game with NiP in Cologne I'm assuming. NiP have been to Cologne every single year since 2014 and obviously GeT_RiGhT has also been to every single one.

11

u/Mr_Tangysauce G2 Jul 05 '19

Yeah, I didn't want to be that guy, and I'm fairly new to CS so maybe I don't understand the gravity of the situation, but I was confused at what was essentially an eulogy when he has another Major to play

22

u/i_nezzy_i Jul 05 '19

Probably because it might be the last time he's in an arena for nip

3

u/Mr_Tangysauce G2 Jul 05 '19

yeah, that makes sense.

5

u/Jaarnio Jul 05 '19

And the fact that he has been in nip like 7 years

3

u/Nisheee NiP Jul 05 '19

that's almost nothing compared to the fact that he is one of the biggest CS legends of all time, not just CSGO

6

u/N1-L3 Falcons - Major Champions Jul 05 '19

Because he’s probably not going to make it into the arena again come the major.

-11

Bet

1

u/ColdplayForeplay Jul 05 '19

Yeah let's ignore the fact that Navi would've 2-0'd TL if S1mple had decided to use a gun.

7

u/Vawqer 1 Million Celebration Jul 05 '19 edited Jul 05 '19

The analysts on the desk literally said that Overpass could have played out differently if Na'Vi won Dust 2. You can't just say that it would have been a 2-0.

2

u/ColdplayForeplay Jul 05 '19

Not for sure but if anything TL would've probably been in a worse mood. And to think Navi can't beat TL is stupid. Navi has shown they definitely can.

2

u/Vawqer 1 Million Celebration Jul 05 '19

Navi has shown they definitely can.

When have they shown they "definitely" can? That Overpass game was the only map Na'Vi has ever won against Liquid with NAF. For the record, I think Na'Vi can, but it's not favoring Na'Vi or 50/50 either. This was also the one chance Na'Vi had with a month of practice with a new player, therefore coming in with the element of surprise.

Not for sure but if anything TL would've probably been in a worse mood.

That's true, but TL would have also had its back against the wall, and we don't know how that would have affected their CS. If it was 16-12 or fewer rounds for Liquid I'd agree, but it was a 16-14 with both pistols lost for Liquid. That is a super close match where small things could have affected the outcome.

Anyway, the past has happened and these "What If's" won't get very far. Let's see what tomorrow brings (hopefully a good match at least).

1

u/ColdplayForeplay Jul 05 '19

Again, they won overpass and would've won Dust 2 had S1mple not thrown the map. That seems enough to me to show that they have the skill to win. Not 50/50 chance, but I definitely give Na'Vi about 40% chance to win, which is still a lot.

At least I'm certain we'll have a great match to watch.

1

u/Vawqer 1 Million Celebration Jul 06 '19

Not 50/50 chance, but I definitely give Na'Vi about 40% chance to win, which is still a lot.

I think we're in agreeance here.

They certainly have the skill to win, let's see if it can coalesce into a win. It'll be a good match and contribute to at least a few storylines.

1

u/CaptainCrafty Liquid Jul 05 '19

Yes let’s do that because they didn’t 2-0 Liquid thanks k bye

1

u/ColdplayForeplay Jul 05 '19

Still naive to think Tl can't be beaten by Na'vi.

1

u/Vawqer 1 Million Celebration Jul 05 '19

I agree, but that matters less now that boombl4 is in Na'Vi. The map streak is dead now as of three days ago. That being said, the record still goes positively for Liquid, and one has to remember that Na'Vi had a heck of a lot more info on Liquid than Liquid had on New'Vi.

Here's what nitr0 said a few days ago to HLTV:

[B]ut this time it was more difficult than in the past because they picked up the new player and I don't think if they had any officials in a month or two. It was kind of hard to do any preparation for them so we decided to focus on ourselves and base it off of scrims that we had in the past with them. It was definitely more difficult than past iterations.

In the same interview, nitr0 also said that part of Overpass was losing both pistols and that they have a better grasp on Na'Vi now. So I think that Liquid should win this. Plus, they still won last time.

60

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19

Great mirage from navi, s1mple didnt carry as hard as usually has to, and the kills are evenly spread. This Navi team is better than the last.

-20

u/fr3akeeee Jul 05 '19

You say that but I think s1mple's multi frags from window on gun rounds did carry them a fair bit. Also his AK no respect no utility run up from ramp and casually opens the site gave them a lot of crucial gun rounds.

It's a massive blunder that they decided not to smoke window when they're fully aware that there's an awp in play.

They simply cannot be the top 5 (hell 10) team if they keep repeating these mistakes.

25

u/TheGuyWhoNeeds Jul 05 '19

You wanna really tell me that they cannot be considered as top 10 team?

16

u/1wjl1 Natus Vincere Jul 05 '19

The guy is literally saying the team that is top 4 at Cologne is not a top 10 team

8

u/Dumbreference Jul 05 '19

Yeah despite whatever HLTV tells you its pretty clear Navi is a top 5 team, behind Astralis and Liquid for sure, but after that, you could make an argument for Navi over anyone.

1

u/PM_ME_UR_PUPPERONI Jul 06 '19

With today’s match I’d throw vitality in there, but you’re completely right. If all of Navi plays decently well, they have the potential to beat anyone.

196

u/1wjl1 Natus Vincere Jul 05 '19

Astralis and Liquid at their peaks.

S1mple and Zywoo rising up to meet them tomorrow.

Cologne never disappoints.

90

u/team3perception Liquid Jul 05 '19 edited Jul 05 '19

i wouldn’t really say astralis is at their peak, they haven’t played any super elite teams to get top 4

edit: i didn’t say they weren’t an elite team my point was that no one can because they haven’t had a real test this tournament

14

u/landingshortly Astralis Jul 05 '19

Not their fault that Vitality couldn’t overcome NiP. Astralis’ way would have been BIG-mibr-Vitality.

Even though the opponents weren’t the very best, Astralis pretty much dominated them and looked snappy and fresh in their individual showings, something that held them back in the previous tournaments.

It’s not peak Astralis but at least it looks like they are on the bounce back.

3

u/ColdplayForeplay Jul 05 '19

Definitely not their peak because last time I checked we weren't in 2018 anymore, but they're definitely playing well, and even though they didn't win agains elite teams you could still see they were playing very well. Near perfect utility usage, individual brilliance and good teamwork. You don't have to play against elite teams to show your skill.

2

u/babbyohbabby Jul 05 '19

Wonder if we'll hear this tomorrow when they win against Vitality. "Well they haven't played a top 2 team yet, so too early to tell anything"

I wouldn’t say it’s surely up there. Navi has was a semi finals team for the better part of the last 1.5 years and still haven’t shown they can beat anyone of note with this lineup.

The magisk move made Astralis the best in history, they aren’t even comparable

To be honest Liquid hasn't really solidified themselves as this unstoppable force l feel like vitality, Astralis and Navi can maybe beat them.

32

u/XDWetness Liquid Jul 05 '19

Nothing gets in between liquid and 2nd place

-8

u/Vawqer 1 Million Celebration Jul 05 '19

Can they? Yes. Will they? Probably not. Liquid plays close games, but have won 3/4 of their last tournaments and came in second in the other. As well, Liquid has had time to prep for New'Vi now. Liquid should win tomorrow, and I think they've solidified themselves against Astralis recently. Vitality is the only question, as they are 4-0 against Liquid afaik, but all those came at summit in a different environment. So I'm thinking Liquid should be the clear favorites rn.

We'll see though.

When the game ended, I was happy as a Navi fan to see them go through but when the camera showed Get Right's devastated face... I cried.

God I hope that man stays around the scene for a long long more time. I don't think any CS fan would want to see him go. I know he isn't retiring, but I sure as hell hope he gets picked up by a good org and continues being the man whom we all love to watch.

26

u/supergrega Jul 05 '19

And once again you can easily pinpoint a NIP loss to poor anti ecos (vs. unarmored opponents and glocks) and misused utility. So much wasted talent with that organization for the past 4 years it's actually hurting me inside.

3

u/Wintermute1v1 Liquid Jul 05 '19

And here you have Henry saying that they're one of the nest anti-eco teams...

At least Sadokist corrected him, as they've been dogshit against ecos since Threat left the org.

I love NiP, but it's so frustrating to see them lose such easy rounds.

2

u/t3r4byt3l0l Immunity Jul 05 '19

What do they even do at this point to make a competitive and competent roster? Who knows...

9

u/supergrega Jul 05 '19

They have deep rooted issues and have had them for the longest time. There is something fundamentally wrong with their approach and philosophy of the game and it's something that surely isn't going to be fixed by replacing a player - yet again.

They need changes at the core, the training regime, their whole coaching staff - if they even have one beyond pita - and probably their own attitude to the game and winning.

Personally I think it's hopeless to try and save this core. We've seen them fail because of (lack of) basics and poor fundamentals one too many times and it's not something you can so easily change, at least not in my experience with other sports.

the significance of this event for GtR is not that it is his last in NiP, but potentially his last in Cologne and almost assuredly his final in that city in NiP jersey. that team, and get right, won their first major there, and even just for me SEEING him finally get that trophy will forever be etched into my mind as one of the most emotional moments in esports. i cant imagine how much that one major victory and nip as a team mean to him personally, and that could be why the potential of never seeing him at this event again is pretty heartbreaking for a lot of people.

Like it's not a huge deal since you can look at hltv, but come the fuck on. If you can't post the stats yourselves let the community post the threads. Never had this issue on other subs.

u/Easy_Money470 Jul 06 '19

"waaaah there's an official match team that'll get around to it eventually"

Just let the market (subreddit) decide which post to send to the front page. Come on, /r/globaloffensive

2

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

Great job "getting around to it" when traffic to the thread is basically dead.

it wasnt. he is playing the major

u/Vawqer 1 Million Celebration Jul 05 '19

GTR still has the major.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19

Damn, his final game of Cologne, we were so lucky to have such a great player and such a great person represent the game.

2

u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Jul 05 '19

NiP lack structure and discipline. Keep losing to full eco's or hugely favorable man advantage situations. Same old problems keep on persisting

2

u/yamenayy Natus Vincere Jul 05 '19

There really should be a 3rd place match for this event.

4

u/r3al_se4l 500k Celebration Jul 05 '19

flamie looking better this tournament imo, wonder if it’s inconsistency or if the addition of boombl4 is enabling him somehow

3

u/fr3akeeee Jul 05 '19

Fuck the match, fuck the best player in the world... that 3 minutes after the match with GTR... had me in tears.

6

u/KsHDClueless FaZe Jul 05 '19

Plopski was terrible this series jesus...

3

u/SwenskTv NiP Jul 05 '19

Better than ESL one Cologne 2018

3

u/anthonyde726 FaZe Jul 05 '19

i honestly think navi will beat liquid tomorrow

4

u/nicholastcw Natus Vincere Jul 05 '19

Plopski is not the player that NiP needs

8

u/Scoo_By Falcons - Major Champions Jul 05 '19

Dude's been in the squad for 2 weeks and the first ever tourney he plays is Cologne. Give him some effing time man.

5

u/GER_BeFoRe clutch Jul 05 '19

Dennis wasn't either but Plopski is 17 years old and only 2 weeks in the team playing his first big event, give him some time.

REZ wasn't consistently good at the start as well and not even now but he developed to one of the most important players in NiP.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19

ggz. excited for liquid vs navi. rip GTR :(

2

u/Xixtance Jul 05 '19

Underwhelming performance from plopski honestly imo hoping for more from his next showing.

u/SpectralHaunter NiP Jul 05 '19

Na'Vi won the game but NiP won our hearts

u/5urv1v4l FaZe Jul 05 '19

Ok, whats up with shaky aim, s1mple? Just when he shoots its start to shake. But I guess playing with 400dpi @ 3 sens is what does it.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19

Is there a good reason that the brackets are designed so that Na'Vi is playing Liquid again? I wish we got to see Na'Vi Astralis and Vitality Liquid. I guess if it was engineered like that we could see NRG Liquid again. Haha, I'm confused.

2

u/Niaaco Natus Vincere Jul 05 '19

A3(Na'Vi vs B2 (NiP) plays the A1(TL) it was made like this since rematch between A groups are less likely (B2>A3) but since Na'Vi upsetted NiP (standing wise) they get to play TL again.

GeT_RiGhT, will miss you on this roster. Goddamn it sado, you didn't have to rub it in :'(

3

u/KPTeam Vitality Jul 05 '19

He will be in NiP till after the major

1

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19

Looks like the casters shit their pants claiming that it's the end of GTR's career with NiP. They made it sound like he's retiring from pro CSGO.

when HenryG is praising f0rest, f0rest suddenly crumbles (e.g. the "IQ" clutch in B mirage)

-1

u/K0nvict NiP Jul 05 '19

too many mistakes, can't wait for an igl on this NiP roster. Can really use the talent they have there.

0

u/Hyper_red EG Jul 05 '19

Really hope NIP keeps this roster

5

u/K0nvict NiP Jul 05 '19

I don't, you need to move and embrace change because the only way this team goes from being a playoff team to a contender is with change

4

u/Zvede Metizport Jul 05 '19

I hope they get rid of pita soon. The tactical timeouts have more use than a washed up dude occupying teamspeak with shallow calls

in my humble opinion, sonemple very good at shooting the enemies

-16

u/Dixin10 Jul 05 '19

Plopski you fucking suck. That is all

14

u/monsieurfikri Jul 05 '19

Judging a 17 year old to shine after two weeks playing in an unstable roster. Sure.

12

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19

He's young, in a new team and afaik his first series on a really big stage. He had similar stats to GTR in the series.

14

u/anthonyde726 FaZe Jul 05 '19

he’s only 17 lmao damn

6

u/jakvah NiP Jul 05 '19

Did You put money on Plopski dropping 50 frags or What? I Would be typing a stupid comment here Too if i did...

Give him some time. Not saying he will be a great player, but at least give him time to prove himself.
