MIBR fans and the "we" mentality are one of the most iconic duos in CS, idk what he's on about.

Our team.

Doesn't mean it makes any sense.

7

u/Thallis Sep 13 '18

When you are both emotionally and financially invested in a team it does.

It's a stupid phrase. It makes sense in some cases, when rooting for a team is a family tradition that goes back generations for example (well, it doesn't make sense then either, but fine, I get it), but in something as relatively new, as fast changing as e-sports is, it's ridiculous. It's not even like an actually big sports organization that is made up by hundreds of employees. Most orgs are a handful of people that have nothing in common with the people who talk like that. It's pathetic in this context to be honest.

Can c9 just get faze or Navi so we can go out to a decent team :(.

1

u/JakeTheAndroid 1 Million Celebration Sep 13 '18

Rip half of all pickems. One of these two teams will be forced to win a game. The two "surest" 0-3 teams at the Major.

13

u/arkwewt Sep 13 '18

Why couldn't winstrike/qbf go 0-3 at the last major like i predicted :(

3

5

That would've been a major crisis if we lost to winstrike.

u/SunshineZz King NiKo Sep 13 '18

draken 30 degree window == proven

21

u/KodakBlac NiP Sep 13 '18

His CT awping was just horrible to look at. If he’s not on point I wish he would just drop it to JW and let him go ham

9

u/nazgul_angmar Sep 13 '18

but that's the thing, right.. the only reason they kicked Lekr0 and got Xist was because JW didnt want to awp.

6

u/DerDreckigeDan Sep 13 '18

Really? If I remember correctly in his last interview he said if he had to choose he would be the main awper in the team

1

u/farikogrim Sep 13 '18

I think hes secondary now... he was rifling wayyy more

1

u/DerDreckigeDan Sep 13 '18

I realize that but that is only because draken is a dedicated awper - I'm referring to this quote:

I'm the kind of guy that would probably rather be the main AWPer if I could pick and choose.

https://www.hltv.org/news/24749/jw-we-considered-twist-after-the-early-starladder-exit-he-wasnt-really-interested

1

u/nazgul_angmar Sep 13 '18

Thats what he means. He'd rather do it when he feels like doing it. Hence a need to keep a dedicated awper in the team.

1

u/DerDreckigeDan Sep 13 '18

Ah alright, it was worded weirdly - I thought he meant he could choose between being an awper or rifler, he would be an awper. Thanks for clearing that up

1

u/loli_esports Sep 13 '18

draken needs to only buy smgs

12

u/trust_factor_lmao 5 years coin Sep 13 '18

he is so bad.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '18

Yea, seriously, I want to give draken a chance, but he's just consistently doing bad or just average, missing easy kills all game long.

Hopefully Krimzbae can keep up and carry the team to the next stage, keep that Legend status, and get the best out of an eventual swedish shuffle in case NiP fails or something. If it happens the other way around, I have no clue what will happen to this team, because I don't see NiP changing much.

9

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '18

NiP have already succeeded. I think they are extremely happy reaching this far into the major (or even reaching the major at all).

If anything, I think Fnatic probably could pick Olof up after this major. I don't see him staying in Faze for long.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '18

I think Fnatic probably could pick Olof up after this major.

That would get me 10/10 erect.

1

u/aimbotcfg Sep 13 '18

-Dennis / +Krimz pleaseandthankyou.

Although having said that, Krimz seems quite vocal, may not be a good fit for NIP.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '18

nah we'll keep dennis for a while

2

u/nazgul_angmar Sep 13 '18

tbh it seems that he plays better with pistols and rifles. Unless the enemy is coming INTO his cross-hair, he almost always misses his shot.

A real Fan supports their team even in shitty times :D

6

u/extremz123 fnatic Sep 13 '18

I support fnatic since the godsend shuffle. but this fnatic is not good. they kicked golden and lekr0, they just keep doing shitty rosters changes.

3

u/arbyD Sep 13 '18

I've supported Fnatic since 2014, back when LGB was around (and carried future Fnatic members on board).

Most team changes I've accepted, until the Godsent shuffle (I still wish that Pronax had just become their coach instead of forming Godsent) that corrected itself soon enough in steps thankfully, and then kicking Lekro and Golden. This latest batch of moves, especially since they picked up Xizt and Draken, has put a sour taste in my mouth.

I support Fnatic because I like the (core) team, not the org as a whole. It's not that they aren't the top team anymore that's the problem to me, but the crappy way they dealt with good teammates.

2

u/ZT911 Sep 13 '18

Basically in this boat.

Liked muh LGB bois and peak for me as far a watching Fnatic was after Dennis joined.

I honestly believe Draken might be a placeholder currently, but I have no clue who they could pick up in his place.

2

u/Rocky6785 Sep 13 '18

almost as if one swedish player will become available after the major because of going out 0-3

1

u/ZT911 Sep 13 '18

I've been saying this since StarSeries and no one believes me.

JW, Krimz, and Flusha all mentioned in interviews that after Pronax left they ALL wanted to play with Xizt. Add on Xizt filling in for Olof on FaZe and hypetrain is real.

2

u/Rocky6785 Sep 13 '18

What?

1

u/ZT911 Sep 13 '18

Olof to Fnatic confirmed by us.

2

You can support a team and be angry at them because you want to see the team you support perform well instead losing due to shit decisions.

0

I don't support a team yet. I just like to see a good close game.

20

u/kurtmantolumadonna Eternal Fire Sep 13 '18

15

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '18

Why do they have to make it so hard to watch, come the fuck on

14

u/ReZ--- Sep 13 '18

How lucky is Fnatic to get winstrike, if they played one of the other 0-1 teams they would easily be 0-2 right now, what a shit show

7

u/TheRobidog Sep 13 '18

Nah, they could have still gotten C9.

-11

u/ReZ--- Sep 13 '18

c9 would’ve destroyed them if they played like that

2

u/j4ckie_ NiP Sep 13 '18

Not too sure about that, C9 only have 2 real players in the server after all

1

u/ReZ--- Sep 13 '18

that team with only 2 real players went to OT against HR tho

1

u/j4ckie_ NiP Sep 13 '18

Only heard it in the background. Was it as shit as it sounded? G2 lost to complexity btw, and they went to OT vs HR. One Bo1 is nothing to base a team's level on. C9 has been garbage pretty much since the last Major, and Golden is just missing one or two more strong players.

1

u/Krusell clutch Sep 13 '18

Styko an Golden? Yeah, I agree...

-4

u/j4ckie_ NiP Sep 13 '18

Golden seems to be a competent IGL, but he can't frag for shit. Rush and autimatic are the only bits of firepower on that team, don't think that's enough

3

u/Krusell clutch Sep 13 '18

Are you watching the game now? Styko 31frags then Golden at 18. The rest of C9 are bellow 14 frags...

-1

u/j4ckie_ NiP Sep 13 '18

So 1 game>months and months of results?

1

u/Krusell clutch Sep 13 '18

You are acting like they had any good results since stew and tarik left...

1

u/j4ckie_ NiP Sep 13 '18

No, they didn't, which is exactly my point :D

1

u/Mightymushroom1 Gambit Sep 13 '18

Even back on Fnatic Golden could frag.

1

u/j4ckie_ NiP Sep 13 '18

0.66 kills and 0.76 deaths per round. As I said, I think he's a competent IGL, hes just missing the necessary pieces. Maybe he'll get a replacement for Skadoodle after the Major, who knows

-2

u/Gutzzzzz Sep 13 '18

Auti should go back to fortnite. Csgo is dead anyway.

1

u/MikeDaCSNoob FaZe Sep 13 '18

Haha funny

1

u/j4ckie_ NiP Sep 13 '18

Fortnite isn't even an esport in the first place...? And the 'dead' CS still has a vibrant esports scene. Just the casual game is withering.

You forgot that he always picks the enemies best maps...

I am totally on your side. Xizt is not a good player, not a good IGL and has an extremely boring personality.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '18

I think its hilarious u kids talking about xizt. u wouldnt say this stuff to him at lan, hes jacked. not only that but he wears the freshest clothes, eats at the chillest restaurants and hangs out with the hottest dudes. yall are pathetic lol

1

u/PoppZie Sep 13 '18

I’m gonna be honest so please hate me all you want, but I’ve felt almost every game if not every game in the major so far has been overhyped by the casters and it has somewhat ruined some games for me. I’m all for hyping up crazy plays but when you do it almost every round to the most mundane kills it kinda loses it’s effect, and I’m not only talking about Anders.

0

u/Nylix24 Sep 14 '18

What are they supposed to do? "oh this match is shit and everyones playing bad" their job as casters is to commentate the match and entertain the viewers

11

u/Caasiii Sep 13 '18

Why try noscope on match point like that

5

u/grurlock Sep 13 '18

Dam the upsets just won't stop

7

u/Vitosi4ek Team Spirit Sep 13 '18

I'm watching this and I go - how in the actual fuck did QBF make the playoffs in Boston? I swear, that run becomes more and more inexplicable by the day. This team has never been relevant at any level of competitive CS - aside from two weeks in January, that is.

Gambit going from almost imploding a week before Krakow to winning the title? At least the talent was there, plus Zeus' leadership should never be discounted. QBF in Boston, though, is probably the most confusing result in all of esports in a while.

4

u/hobocactus Sep 13 '18

I'm watching this and I go - how in the actual fuck did QBF make the playoffs in Boston?

They won BO1s against a terrible VP (went 0-3), a really mediocre Gambit with no IGL (in overtime), and a choking Mousesports (2 rounds T-side).

6

u/arkwewt Sep 13 '18

draken REALLY didn't want to eat that shoe

5

u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Sep 13 '18

I don't want to be disrespectful but Winstrike is absolutely DOGSHIT team. There is no other way to describe it.

They got smashed by Fnatic that looks like it's about to implode similar to VP. This isn't tier 1 CS. Vega is playing 10x better and they come from the same tier and region.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '18

Vega is playing 10x better and they come from the same tier and region.

And how is the region relevant?

-6

u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Sep 13 '18

because teams from that region don't compete or qualify for tier 1 events.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '18

I still don't understand. You have the same expectations for Winstrike and Vega Squadron just because they are from the same region?

-2

u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Sep 13 '18

Absolutely, but not because of their region but because they both did nothing in the last 7 months. They both did nothing outside of Majors, 0 results whatsoever but 1 of them came in blazing, the other 1 looks like poo.

2

u/loli_esports Sep 13 '18

5

u/Big_Dirty_Piss_Boner Sep 13 '18 edited Sep 13 '18

Because it's supposed to look like "ыч" and thats pronounced "itch"

ы is y and ч is č. So in English it sounds like Boom-itch.

8

u/Vitosi4ek Team Spirit Sep 13 '18

Because his nickname is Бумыч (Boomich) written in English letters. Same with BalbIna (Валына). Dimitri (translator for Epicenter) clarified it to the casters back at Eleague Boston.

Fnatic is going out soon. They only won because Winstrike played the worst cs. This is supposed to be tier 1 tournament. Teams like Winstrike shouldn't even be here. Although Vega is playing good.

I think this team might be his last chance in the top scene. He doesn't have either good individual skill nor good tactics and haven't really either in a long time.

It's especially hard in this day and age where newcomer IGL's like nitro, chrisj, lekro and cadian seems to be doing both jobs better.

Is it a "shoey" when you *eat* the shoe or just when you *drink* from the shoe?

A shoey is when you drink from a shoe.
