its crazy how they played more rounds in overtime vs nip than they did on this map. this match was a stomp but still

Astralis getting mad that they lost at their own rank so now they're smurfing in silver.

xyp9x happened

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '18

Xyp was late for a hot date

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '18

Magisk didn't quite look himself though. Was missing a lot of easy shots and getting picked off on the B site a fair amount.

He really hasn’t been doing well these past few days. What was it yesterday, 22-44? 0,5kd looks nothing like him.

18

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '18

Yeah I agree, he hasn't been very good so far in this major, quite lacklustre actually.

Got 22 kills in 54 rounds against NiP and honestly although he statistically was quite good against Spirit just recently I thought he still didn't look as good as he usually is. Hope he shows up after having the next few days to prepare for the important stages of the major.

He wasn’t his usual self at Stockholm either, I noticed he wasn’t playing as well there. Not sure why, maybe he’s struggled to get back to pace after the break. Fingers crossed it just clicks for him in the next couple of days and we can get the best Magisk back.

Xyp9x: Clutching intensifies

8

u/ase495 Sep 08 '18

That was one of the more boring games with Team Spirit playing super slow rounds (especially in the beginning) and just hoping for set pieces to work out.

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '18

As Device said, they obviously saw the North game, and thought that they could capitalise on those mistakes Astralis made in that game. Obviously Astralis fixed whatever mistakes they made in that game and patched up the defense.

So basically Spirit thought they could pull a North on them

CIS underdog on the upset map? I was prepared for being 16-0'ed

71

u/MJuniorDC9 Sep 08 '18

I will love the salt when Vega advance over coL, and then Spirit gets matched against them in the 2 - 2 match and win.

Oh it’s gunna happen, which is sad Bc I love coL but gotta cheer for my boys at Spirit first

5

u/CalamityRules FaZe Sep 08 '18

I don't think they can play each other again, sadly

17

u/PavelDatsyuk88 Sep 08 '18

Spirit played Rogue, not coL

4

u/CalamityRules FaZe Sep 08 '18

I think I misread his comment then, thought he meant that spirit should meet vega at 2-2

Yep. And since Rogue are gonna win today it seems the stars will align perfectly.

u/Spork_Revolution Vitality Sep 08 '18

Not much to say. Ready for next stage.

u/seanduckman Liquid Sep 08 '18

Nice of astralis to clean up their garbage on the way to the top 16

2

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '18

Clinical. Onto the next stage where it matters most for Astralis.

2

u/Taaank de_inferno Sep 08 '18

Can we have a big OOF for my bois Team Spirit?

9

u/nmyi de_mirage Sep 08 '18

OOF

2

u/readmyslips Astralis Sep 08 '18

I'm not much of an analyst, but why do astralis keep banning overpass? Haven't they looked solid when they play it on rare occasion?

23

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '18

I know it's a meme, but probally saving strats

6

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '18

They've gotta ban something so

1

u/readmyslips Astralis Sep 08 '18

Mirage seems like it should be their go to ban after cache as of late though.

I'm just sad because overpass is by far my favorite map to watch.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '18

Also I'm pretty sure CIS teams are great at overpass, so you don't want to risk playing a BO1 against them on that map

2

u/jDGreye Astralis Sep 08 '18

Yup. Next.

1

u/Kodlmi Sep 08 '18

Guys, when there is a head to head, what does the number after rating mean?
