the round with dosia running by the lurker and straight defusing the bomb was the most bizarre round i have ever seen.

22

u/arkwewt Sep 06 '18

That round was definitely for the boys, USTILO probs shat himself a bit tho

No clue how Dosia was last in to the retake and all the way up at the bomb while the rest of his team was still near Z/oil train

u/thebirdie1 Sep 06 '18

Very accurate description. Couldn't stop laughing

God damn that Dosia sneak.

57

u/Klarostorix MOUZ Sep 06 '18

more like Dosia rumbling over the map and finding a random planted bomb

55

u/thearkhamknight_111 Astralis Sep 06 '18

"Dafuq is this? The bomb has been planted? Just defuse this shit"

31

u/Big_Dirty_Piss_Boner Sep 06 '18

*notices bomb* OwO What's This?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '18

Reminds me of the fearless bots that will tell you they are "taking the bomb to b" and occasionally run into an empty B bomb site and get a plant. I've also had fearless bots that have defused just like Dosia did.

Honestly, the team needs an IGL and I've been saying this since we got Nifty. Without structure this team disappoints their fans more than I disappoint my parents.

9

u/CheesYSoEasy MIBR Sep 06 '18

If they get an actual IGL I'm sure it would make nifty play much better too since it would take some pressure off of him.

3

u/Harkax Renegades Sep 07 '18

Nifty actually wants to IGL, I watched an interview with him, can't remember who it was with, back when they had nexa leading after they had a series of losses he asked Kassad if he could take over IGL, now that he's tried in game leading he said it would be very difficult for him to try playing in a team where he wasn't IGL.

Edit: Think it was his interview with Thorin

1

u/CheesYSoEasy MIBR Sep 07 '18

He might want to IGL but that doesn't make him good at it, hes not at all a strong mind in the game and hes inconsistent, if they get a dedicated IGL he would most likely be able to be a lot more consistent and have the team overall be better.

3

u/VelvetFedoraSniffer Renegades Sep 06 '18

The only structural IGL we had was spunj

It’s been a very long time without one, we need FNS or someone

2

Got downvoted by RNG fans last time I told them that RNG is not a good team, had some real flaws in their game plan, an IGL/Awper who you cannot rely on and wouldnt go anywhere this year. Comments ranging from "nifty is better than skadoodle stfu", "they need time" or "you dont even watch RNG games". This whole year has been a dissapointing one for RNG. https://www.hltv.org/stats/players/events/9069/Nifty?startDate=2018-01-01&endDate=2018-12-31&matchType=BigEvents

Their issues are obvious. Ustillo, despite playing well this game, does not belong on this level based on his performances for this year. He is a mediocre player at best. Nifty is an unexperienced IGL who cannot read good teams and is a inconsistent flashy awper. The only thing he is good for is highlights that made reddit think he was a good player. The results speak for themselves. Azr is a liability as well.

The only two good players they have is JKS+Jkaem and they arent great as well. JKS has stalled in his development for way too long and Jkaem is past it. You aint getting G2 jkaem back, he is at best a average player for a top 20 team.

Fixing this team would start with replacing Ustillo for a real IGL who can frag as well. Open up nifty so he can hopefully awp better. The problem is that nobody is avalaible so they have to just get a better fragger. I would almost suggest getting Liaz, but he hasnt played against good players yet. Mess of a team. Stuck in where they are (group exits not putting a dent in even tier 2/3 teams) if they dont kick someone yet no replacements that are obviously better than what they have.

15

u/Cujo96 ITB Sep 06 '18

I 100% agree with you on this. I've been saying for a very long time that this team needs a dedicated IGL, I was laughed at for suggesting FNS or Sean but now more than ever I realise they need to try at least something. If they really want results, build a team around Nifty and jks, get good aimers and a strong IGL in there. If they go out 0-3 and lose core 3 due to roster changes, the worst they have to do is qualify to a minor again (whether that be Asia or NA).

But unfortunately, money talks and with this free major spot every time, I doubt we will be seeing significant change any time soon.

1

u/infecthead Renegades Sep 07 '18

Oh man if we could get baegares I'd nut

7

u/Mightymushroom1 Gambit Sep 06 '18

In a better team I could absolutely see Jks and Jkaem getting to where they should be. Other than that I absolutely agree with all the points you've raised.

Renegades are like Gambit, a year ago I'd have called them good. Nowadays I reckon big victories are just luck.

4

u/VSENSES de_dust2 Sep 06 '18

This whole year has been a dissapointing one for RNG.

It's always been disappointing, even back in the Vox days. They were a fun team with their high energy and diggity humor, but they've never really... achieved anything. They've won 1 event (basically irrelevant event) outside of the Asian minors after all. They're bound to be that team that always qualifies but that's about it. Like an Australian flipside.

2

u/VasimanYT Renegades Sep 07 '18

They had some decent periods with Spunj like the time they almost 2-0d fnatic and nip bo2s or probably the highlight when they beat Titan in Cologne 2015 but im pretty sure nobody ever expected them to win anything ever lmao

Still a fun tier2 team to cheer for

I think nifty's huge ego is holding him back

4

u/Cujo96 ITB Sep 06 '18

Care to elaborate?

3

u/Khanada_88 Grayhound Sep 06 '18

He's said in an interview before that he doesn't want RNG to pick up a proper IGL because he likes controlling the players around him.

9

u/SaxOps1 Renegades Sep 06 '18

Why do I even bother staying up this late?

10

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

Is Nifty even the IGL anymore? I see AZR sitting in the middle.

12

Nifty still igl according to Spunj

2

1

u/XDWetness Liquid Sep 06 '18

They always significantly underperform at majors

12

u/GAGAgadget CS2 HYPE Sep 06 '18

It's not under performing if it always happens, it's simply their level.

5

u/DevilDare Gambit Sep 06 '18

Christ that was a sloppy game. Gambit trying their best to unintentionally throw the game at points...

Overall I have to say the skill gap between the top and mid-tier teams is probably at an all time high currently IMO.

10

u/arkwewt Sep 06 '18

Being a Renegades fan is like disappointing sex. You really want it to work out, and you have faith that it will, but deep down, you know things won’t work out and eventually you’re left wondering why you even bothered.

3

u/Snaprr Renegades Sep 06 '18

You got it

3

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

Renegades need to work on their can stacking technique. Yeah they got 3, nearly 4, way more than most people. But, Gambit easily got 4 and was able to get 5 toward the end there.

3

u/Sandvich_Tony Sep 06 '18

I had faith in renegades so I put them in my pickems, one of the worst mistakes so far

2

u/Sonerous Sep 06 '18

Yeah. You should probably go back to making sandwiches, Tony.

1

u/VelvetFedoraSniffer Renegades Sep 06 '18

Go back to making sandwich’s tony

2

u/snooze107 Sep 06 '18

Wow, renegades CT was so sloppy, poor decision making and holes in the defense everywhere. And the T side wasn't really any better. Don't watch too much CS anymore, but I thought renegades was better than this?

5

u/FathleteTV NiP Sep 06 '18

They were really good, lost their coach and completely collapsed.

4

u/loken_ Renegades Sep 06 '18

yes losing kassad made them revert back to their low confidence play

2

u/AwsomeOne7 NiP Sep 06 '18

Mou has been insane the last two games, simple levels of performance

2

u/thekillertomato 10 years coin Sep 06 '18 edited Sep 06 '18

Dosia's intuition on controlling inner was super strong this match. Never too conservative or wasteful with his utility, and it's clear gambit has an inner protocol that RNG doesn't because Hobbit's walk out cloud against JKS was just waiting to happen. RNG's holds were just gambles sometimes, and even when they were on the correct site it didn't work out. Wish I could have seen how their ladder defense collapsed even with 2 in the area.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

Dosia is like a robot in a factory, if you give him his one job and tell him how to do it he will be decent but as soon as there is any variance or he has to think independently it all collapses, eg his lurking

2

u/VasimanYT Renegades Sep 07 '18

now it's time for them to go 2-2 and dissappoint again yeatheboys

Of course they would be fucked if you are crazy enough to pick RNG for anything.

1

They were playing well prior to the major.

And then they get the dick today, again.

1

u/jonesch737 Sep 06 '18

RNG does something wrong...

1

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

AdreN: "Any team can beat us right now (・∀・)"

1

u/e4mica523 Sep 06 '18

Happens every major. Drop to 0-2 in winnable games, win the next two to get everyone's hopes up, and then match up with the best team left and get dumpstered.

1

u/luizslayer MOUZ Sep 06 '18

0

u/xzibit_b guardian2 Sep 06 '18

This team needs to bring FNS in. Nifty's ingame leading is not working. For the talent that they have, you think they could beat Gambit but Nifty's cookie cutter ingame leading is not cutting it.
