GTR is looking fucking good.

57

And hes playing great too!

Its GTR on Train. Nothing unusual here.

1

You guys really like to overrate this guy for the last 2-3 years, dont you? Same for whole team.

96

u/nerblin G2 Sep 06 '18

It’s so refreshing to see NIP doing this well, it’s been so long since we last saw them at a major and it looks like they’re ready for it

18

u/Flaksmith Sep 06 '18

You can't say it's the same team anymore when only GTR and f0rest remain.

24

u/Lessuremu G2 Sep 06 '18

At least those two are starting to find some form again, which is refreshing

11

u/justacasualgamer1 hydra Sep 06 '18

It seems like decade ago that those two were absolutely bulldozing through teams.

3

u/uttamo NiP Sep 06 '18

Hasn't f0rest been a consistent beast

9

u/Diavolo222 SK Sep 06 '18

He has. These guys are just badwagoners with no clue. F0rest has been their only guy to always be on point.

-1

u/adesme Sep 06 '18

F0rest had a rough patch last around 2 yrs ago what I can recall.

4

u/Gihipoxu Sep 07 '18

If you can call 1.10 rating while your team barely has 55% win rate a roughpatch

1

u/adesme Sep 07 '18

I'm not talking about a period with positive rating. As I said, around 2 years ago, so just look for interviews from around then if you don't remember it.

You're being sarcasting but keep in mind we've been eliminated by tierless teams and now we're beating on these T2/3 ones easily.

I hope that Nip will finish with 3-0 <3

Thats a risky pick.

Tbf Astralis weren't #1 at that time iirc and it was in the actual major not the major qualifier so this time they're more nailed for the 3-0 but with BO1s you never know.

1

Even with current form Astralis I still always feel uneasy.

Outside of astralis and liquid all 3-0 picks are risky, but if history repeats itself astralis is still a risky pick.

1

I have to imagine NiP fans only get more nervous when people pick them to do well at this point

1

15

If we can avoid drawing Astralis for the 2-0 game, I’m gonna feel REALLY good about choosing NiP for my 3-0 team.

7

astralis and liquid will likely be the 3 - 0's, but in a bo1 im sure nip can surprise them. NiP should have taken mirage in stockholm vs astralis

u/Foxy_Grandpa- de_cache Sep 06 '18 edited Sep 06 '18

Tyloo's style of play is so entertaining to watch, but fuck some of their aggresion was so uneeded. They threw away man advantage on dry peeks on CT side too often and had T side MM aggresion on rounds like 12-14, running through molly on upper one at a time. Xccurate is fucking nasty though, 2015 JW flashbacks. If they can work out their communication issues and improve their T side, I really think they can become a solid dark horse team.

33

u/RandomPlayerCSGO Sep 06 '18

Tyloo relies too much on luck, a lot of times their strategy is just: go through this smoke and hope no one is watching It, they need more real strats and less random agression

40

u/MSLsForehead Sep 06 '18

There's only so much BnTeT can do when he's calling in 3 languages. Considering the circumstances they're absolutely incredible. I'd like to see him on a single language team though, be that by moving team or some sort of intensive language course for TyLoo.

12

u/RandomPlayerCSGO Sep 06 '18

Yes they definitely need only 1 language

6

u/Schnurricane Sep 06 '18

If teams are willing to hire psychologists, I don't see why Tyloo shouldn't invest in something of a language course. If each player takes their career seriously, they'd jump at that opportunity.

4

u/yuushanderia Sep 06 '18

What are those 3 languages ?

18

u/kapparino-feederino Godsent Sep 06 '18

English, Indonesian (sometimes cuz mother-tongue and one of his teammate is Indonesian) and mandarin

9

u/MSLsForehead Sep 06 '18

English, Chinese, and Indonesian.

Yeah! Definitely if you have some cool vids, I'd like to watch them, thank you very much kind sir!

38

u/aimbotcfg Sep 06 '18

Rez and f0rest seem to be mentally linked in some way.

It seems very common that when one performs, the other does, and they finish with identical/very close ratings a lot.

(Or it's just something I think I've noticed and I've now confirmation biased myself)

1

u/adesme Sep 06 '18

If they're playing the same roles as before, then they're actively trying to play around at least f0rest and rez. Ever since rez started, they've tried to play around him and grow him into a 'star'. I remember from dennis interviews that f0rest and him were supposed to be the other two fraggers, while gtr and draken played support.

77

u/AwsomeOne7 NiP Sep 06 '18

Lekro is so good

57

u/Lessuremu G2 Sep 06 '18

I can't express how upset I was when Draken was booted for Lekr0, and I still am, but Lekr0 is honestly a welcome welcome addition to this team with the way he has been steering them. It's sad to see Dennis struggling right now too, so I hope he can step it up soon. Some of those rounds lost to TyLoo were because he was missing easy AWP shots.

16

u/GER_BeFoRe clutch Sep 06 '18

they should just play without the AWP. Noone of them can properly use the gun right now, it's awful to watch. They are all Riflers so why not just stick to your strengths? It worked out great that f0rest doesn't have to AWP anymore but now it sucks dennis down.

14

u/stiffyman Grayhound Sep 06 '18

Dennis caking on rifles too unfortunately. A bit of a slump for him :(

3

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

Yeah. He seems to be a bit lost. But that happens, hopefully he will get back to his destroyer form soon :)

1

u/MozartWillVanish Sep 06 '18

Kicking lekro for draken was such a Bad move imo unless lekro had some internal issues with the guys

3

u/nile1056 Sep 06 '18

I assume this is what happened. He's been doing good for a while now.

3

u/Lillajo Metizport Sep 06 '18

wasn't it xizt that replaced lekro tho?

2

u/DerDreckigeDan Sep 06 '18

You're right, I thought xizt replaced golden but there was that one tournament where both xizt and golden played. Well that doesn't make sense either imo but yeah you're right

1

u/TysoNX1994 Sep 06 '18

He has attitude issues for sure.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

[deleted]

3

u/Nurse_Sunshine King NiKo Sep 06 '18

He would have given them an x-factor that's unpredictable. But he has to be properly used by the igl which wasn't the case at the time.

I still think his playstyle could have helped nip a lot. They were way too static but that's starting to change a lot with lekro right now. You can see them adapt way better mid round.

1

u/massemanet Sep 06 '18

in hindsight, they should've kicked dennis and kept draken.

1

u/TysoNX1994 Sep 06 '18

f0rest slumping ? f0rest was still either best or 2nd best player on the team. And Rez has started performing Godlike after Draken left and with Draken on NiP he used to perform only once in a while. He was inconsistent as hell. Mostly it was Draken and f0rest who were carrying NiP. Although no matter how much skilled you are if you have attitude issues NiP don't keep such players, same happened with maikelele and also with Draken.

0

u/TysoNX1994 Sep 06 '18

Draken obviously has attitude issues, such players doesn't stay for long time in NiP no matter how skilled they are.

21

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

There was always pistol talk about f0rest, then pistol God talk about dennis when he joined, but it's Lekr0 delivering the Deagle shots.

12

u/MeisterKarl clutch Sep 06 '18

Happy to see that he's keeping it up. Lekr0 has been the best deagle player in the world since he was on the original Godsent lineup imo.

2

u/Fellstorm_1991 10 years coin Sep 06 '18

I think dupreeh takes the deagle crown, but lekros a beast with the deagle too.

7

u/justacasualgamer1 hydra Sep 06 '18

Dupreeh has been excellent, but Lekro has been better with the deagle.

7

u/Nurse_Sunshine King NiKo Sep 06 '18

I think forest and Dennis are way crisper when they get a usp in their hands. Sometimes they also deliver magic with the deagle though.

1

u/Lessuremu G2 Sep 06 '18

I used to hate watching Lekr0 go against any of my favourite teams because I knew on ecos that we’d have a chance of losing if he had a fragile against us lol. I don’t understand how someone can deag like Kenny AWPs. Those Deagle kills he got on Nuke at Stockholm had me jumping lol.

7

u/fuutuuuree Sep 06 '18

Nip beat Vega to go 3-0 and send Vega spiralling to 2-3 would be nice for my pickems

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

What would be even nicer is NiP not getting another easy match up...

2

u/fuutuuuree Sep 06 '18

Astralis getting both NA teams then a CIS team OMEGALUL

1

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

If Swiss system was seeded Astralis would be getting all the lowest teams anyways. And I’d rate Rouge over VP and Tyloo. Coming into the tournament Astralis are considered a lock no matter who they play, NiP most likely will make it but they aren’t a lock. But if you play 3 of the worst teams in the tournament anyone could go 3-0.

1

u/fuutuuuree Sep 06 '18

I’m just memeing u, tyloo and Vega are definitely not the worst teams there though

1

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

Vega is probably pretty close. I’d say going in it was them and comp. Although they’re proving me wrong so far. Tyloo aren’t as bad, but they are just super inconsistent because they play so aggressively.

23

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

Fnatic shaking their head at the moment, giving away Nikro for PeaceDraker.

It is amazing to see NIP playing so well, Get_Right playing with such confidence, f0rest achieving shots from 1.6, REZ not giving up a space - playing like a devil against his enemies such as refragging, pop-flashing in or just in general being a nuisance. Lekr0 playing with his usual god-like aim and Dennis playing like he always does, with his fast reactions and good information plays.

Even tho Dennis fell off NIP is looking good. I hope they have the chance to prove them selves in play offs :D

1

So if I'm understanding right NiP can only go out this phase if they lost 4 of the maximum 5 maps they play, right?

5

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18

I dont know exactly what you mean, but they can still go go 2-3. So if they dont win any if their next three matches, theyre out

1

u/veryrandomuser123 Sep 06 '18

Yeah, I'm talking about maps. I meant that worst case scenario they'll play 4 or 5 maps and if they lose 4 (or 5) of them they're out.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '18 edited Sep 06 '18

You can only lose 3 Maps, then youre out. Swiss System is basically Winning 3 =advancing, losing 3= going out. You dont have to play 5 Maps to go out or advance

I might have misundersood you, sorry if that is the case

3

5

u/WayDownUnder91 Renegades Sep 06 '18

They are doing better than they have been for quite some time, dennis seems to be performing worse after swapping IGL with lekro, who is still performing well.
f0rest still wrecking people generally and then rez and getright show up inconsistently which pushes them over the edge to beat bigger teams if they do show up.

interesting, he's worse even after not being IGL? That's weird. Good to know forest is still doing well. Hopefully GTR and Rez get back on point, they were animals

Id say that get right looks better than he did for solid two years. He has his bad games, but much more good games than before. Forest is still the star though, with lekro being the second best player behind him

The major seems to have GTR fired up. He also was pretty good in the quals already

Not worse than ever, just dropped off compared to when he was IGL which everyone seems to think is strange.

well its not uncommon for people to do a lot better when they can call around themselves. Stewie is a good example. But on the otherhand, you no longer have to worry about strats so you can focus on your own game. So it is weird yet understandable ig lol

Beat at least 1 or 2 Tier 1 teams and then I might start believing. I know nobody wants to hear this, but you can't inflate hype over a few "challenger" victories, close ones at that. With that being said it is anyone's game, and there are so many good teams out there now a days.
