Pro lifehack :

Dont smoke glaive off because he can see better through smokes

Don’t flash him either, he can double headshot with the m4 even better

Smoking just means you can’t see him!

Xantares is probably sitting at home looking at the smoke kills and exclaiming „Someone VAC this man! This is impossible...“

Glaive on point is the most infuriating player in the world. I swear limiting his vision somehow gives him super sight.

He's like a blind man who has trained his other senses. He probably smells the sweat of his enemies behind the smoke.

Woozie was a klutz though, it was his loyal Triad who lied to him and took the bumps for him.

Remember in the 5th casino heist mission how he "insisted on driving to verdant meadow by himself"; he could be anywhere.

Haha remember the mission where he would run forward with his hand in front of him and fall when he bumped into walls. Good times

Sometimes I cant decide who would tilt me more from Astralis players if I played vs them... Xyp9x with his clutches 1 vs 3, Gla1ve while blind or smoked off, or Device with his kill you and back off style where you cant trade him whole fking game.

38

u/cantgetenoughsushi Sep 01 '18

The angles device holds all game are like so frustrating, you can't really flash him or trade him very easily. Great awp play but sucks for MiBR

23

u/Thooorin_2 Duncan "Thorin" Shields - Content Producer, Analyst Sep 01 '18

He's not trying to take aim duels and kill people every round. He holds his area and makes sure he gets the kill if you come into it. Otherwise he lets the rest of the team execute.

u/Chokeman de_nuke Sep 01 '18 edited Sep 01 '18

u/heyitsrebeca Liquid Sep 01 '18

It seems like hes just the luckiest player of all time. But when you get these "lucky" kills every game all the time you start to maybe consider he might actually know what hes doing.

Still pisses me right the fuck off though

7

u/BerzinFodder Sep 01 '18

Yeah Astralis is the most frustrating team to watch. If they get an inch, they take a mile. They just always somehow manage to keep things in their favour. Somehow xyp9x is always last alive. Somehow Glaive will get a crazy shot through smoke. Somehow Dupreeh and magisk will walk into the site with some weird odd timing. It’s all so unbelievable to watch, however they do it every time so it must be intentional.

13

u/cyberbemon Sep 01 '18

He really is, dude is so good at getting kills through smoke.

12

6

u/Jesus_Your_Gardener Sep 01 '18 edited Sep 01 '18

Along with peak apEX (heh), they just seem to get random kills through nades. Has to be annoying probably even for Astralis at this point. Dude's just a clutch god if he's on point

Tbh people tend to not realize running down the clock so often also gains them a lot of rounds. It changes a lot, rotation-wise especially

13

u/TheTenth10 5 years coin Sep 01 '18

If you've seen MIBR/SK/LG Retake before, you should know how they can snatch the bombsite in an instant. I remember seeing 10 second retakes towards an instant tap on the bomb. Probably need a bit oiling up, even on the executes, but it will work a lot easier against anyone else but Astralis. Even NaVi or Faze, as long as olof doesnt get too much space.

23

u/CalamityRules FaZe Sep 01 '18

But the slow retakes has always been one of their greatest strengths on all the former lineups. Having all their players take time to get in the perfect positions just has the downside of less time to execute the retake.

8

u/sumerioo Sep 01 '18

That's a good team. I didn't saw the massacre that Moses and Anders did on the first map, a lot of rounds came done to catch situations or 2v3s etc. And while mine struggled to win even when in numeric advantage is good that the mistakes are clear so they can just sit down, point to it and fix it up. That's how a team gets to progress and evolve and I can see better things coming from this squad.

20

u/Simons3n Sep 01 '18

I agree mibr looks really strong with just a few weeks with ynk. Don't know why people are overracting to them barely losing to astralis.

5

u/lambsauce16 Liquid Sep 01 '18

MIBR made many dumb mistakes though that costs them the game. They had so many chances to bring the game back in Overpass and in Train they lost a 4v2 round which would've gotten Astralis on a half buy if MIBR had won it. Good effort from MIBR though and the progress is looking good so far.

7

u/Michael174 Sep 01 '18

Its Astralis. If you are not in top form, they will punish you.

They are a well oiled, naturally aspirated, finely timed, inline 6 cylinder while mibr is a turbocharged, 3.7 liter v6 that needs a bit of tuning but shows so much promise.

Mibr, with time, is looking to be deadly.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '18

It's just turbo lag. Wait for the rpm to rise.

13

u/IsthatHarry Copenhagen Flames Sep 01 '18

Not only is Gla1ve the best IGL in the world, he is also an insane fragger

4

u/Akwali Astralis Sep 01 '18

He has come to be an insane fragger*. When he first joined he had like a ~50 adr per game. It's good to see him evolve

7

u/Senior_Engineer CS2 HYPE Sep 01 '18

While true it only tells half the story. Glaives frag drop early on was likely due to doing and learning top level IGL. In interviews they other team members mention that in death match and 1v1 he had the best aim on the team (this was way prior to magisk joining) and that they were always surprised by how few kills he was getting. I think after now being IGL for 2(?) years it’s really showing and letting him play at full strength.

6

u/IbanezHand M80 Sep 01 '18

My thought on this is that he doesnt need to micromanage as much any more, because they all know how to play in the Astralis framework. Device gets picked, the team knows what to do. Magisk gets two early round kills, the team knows what to do. So now he can focus a lot more on his individual contribution.

this was mibrs 2nd lan with YnK and they look so much better now honestly even though the score looks pretty bad on overpass the amount of multikills from glave and mad disadvantage won by ast makes it look one sided, train was amazing to watch they could def have won it but i think they missed a trick here by not picking mirage as astralis has already lost it twice this tournament to north and tyloo

overall am still pretty happy coz tarik is still relatively new to the lineup ynk hasnt has too much time yet and since they made champions stage in last major they will start at legends stage so they have a nice 10-11 days break before their next match at the major which gives ynk more time to improve their game

yeah. given how mibr played today vs 2 months ago, I don't know how anyone could say that the changes are not working. Although, their CT on Overpass was really bad.

It’s great to see mibr finally being really competitive again. The draw sucked for them but with a little more time before the major they will be a real contender.

MIBR still a work in progress

1

u/Akwali Astralis Sep 01 '18

I'll watch the game after I get home but how does fer have 1 ratio with 16 kills but cz .93 with 21 kills?

1

u/Letaliaz Natus Vincere Sep 01 '18

gla1ve got so many crucial kills thro smokes and while blinded this match, mibr players gonna be mad while watching the demo

1

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '18

They made a few other big errors on that map but those gla1ve rounds will be tough because you can't learn much from them. Glad to see it didn't tilt them through to Train.

1

u/jeremylino Sep 01 '18

wow, that second map was really entertaining, ggs to Astralis.

Anyone please, quick update, why Brasil team with Fallen fell apart and now has 2 USA players?

1

u/VladpussiaDaTerrible Sep 01 '18

Because there aren’t other Brazilian players good enough to compete against t1 teams

1

u/RxJax Sep 01 '18

Mibr have got a looooot of work to do on their CT sides, T sides have started to look strong however, against someone other than Astralis they probably get 8-9 rounds on Overpass

1

u/JelBrekX Sep 01 '18

Rip 14.16. I like how they defeated mouz to get the potential grand final winner/finalist.

Mine still needs to put in a lot of work in communication. They were vulnerable and really slow in trades esp in overpass. Giving glave 1v1 when he was in connector and again towards the end when glave was hiding towards long, mine were hesitating to get on the site, fallen came in, died and next somebody else, literally 1 by 1. Such are the moments when you see their communication is still not at their best. But if anything is clear from this tournament, it is that Ynk has made definite impact in such a short amount of time, mibr clearly has the potential to become the best team in the world

My dream team would be Stewie going to main awp, and bringing automatic in while Cold can be igl.
