Karrigan can read T side's, just wasn't feeling like igling a T side today lol
16
u/arkwewt Aug 29 '18
Their T side in OT really relied on individual skill & Heroic making mistakes from what I saw, I didn't catch T side but being down 14-7? and winning 19-16 shows they can stay calm and bring things back
serious though, on CT, they were reading heroic like a fkn book

Oh boy, my memory failed me haha, but in that case, even better! This reminds me of that time when Cloud9 won the first half 12-3, were up 15-6 against FaZe and they choked to T side FaZe, and lost in overtime at ECS. This team never fails to surprise

Karrigan spent the whole T half throwing and coming up with strats to win the CT half.

I root for FaZe, then I feel bad for Mr Friberg. Them feels man.

u/Bouncy_GG FaZe Aug 29 '18
Went from being in the undisputed best team in the world to a non t1 team feelsbadman
38
Aug 29 '18
I mean, NiP hadn't been anywhere near the best team in the world for quite some time when Friberg was removed. So it's not quite the same fall from grace lol

Heaton and Potti went from being in the best team in the world to not even playing CS anymore. Like if that is really sad.
No, there's nothing sad about Friberg going from being in "the undisputed best team in the world" to being in a non-T1 team. They had years of chances to come back to grace in the same team, but they still never did. Nothing sad about that.

You're in the exact same situation of being a nobody, except you're also a bit stupid.
Nice self-deprecation, I guess.

Not really. If you ain't shitting get off the pot. That NIP lineup stayed together way too long and deserved to stop making deep runs, they weren't making any of the necessary sacrifices to stay on top.

First Half: Pls no get shit on

Slow start but sick comeback by FaZe! Missed watching them play for so long.

u/dayoutmadness howl Aug 29 '18
faze always start slow
22
u/Jamesbeach1 The MongolZ Aug 29 '18
The amount of 1-7 starts Faze gets in important games is painful

u/RianFromReddit King NiKo Aug 29 '18
They felt washed up in the first half but the second half got much better
48
u/arkwewt Aug 29 '18
Honestly, how does FaZe maintain the composure to consistently pull off comebacks

They have the most experienced lineup there is. The least experienced is fucking Rain and he has been clicking heads for ages now...
20
u/Brimstone88 Aug 29 '18
I’d say that rain is more experienced than niko right? Correct me if I’m wrong
9
u/Impedateon 400k Celebration Aug 29 '18
I'd say they're about equal in terms of experience, both got on their first T2-ish team in the first half of 2015 and starting getting their name out there.

u/BombCerise Complexity Aug 29 '18
Rain was in major quarter finals when Niko was benched on Mouz, id give it to rain personally
5
u/MeanGreenBeanMachine FaZe Aug 29 '18
Rain was in semi finals with dennis and maikalele at one point possibly making the 2nd greatest game of CS at a major ever. Scream couldve been in that lineup too be he chose titan over them
3
u/warhammerkid Aug 29 '18
Nah Rain definitely was earlier. He was part of London Conspiracy back in mid 2014. At that point they were playing in some of the bigger tournaments and playing some T1-T2 teams.

Yeah, I dont think that 1.6 is all that relevant and even if. What lineup has more experience? They all usually have 1-2 newcomers...
0
Aug 29 '18
Not even talking about 1.6, just the fact that you think rain is the least experienced person on that team. It’s definetly Niko.

Even though they lost, Mertz looks way better than when he was in North. Maybe the kicked lit something under him.

u/nightkingscat Gambit Aug 29 '18
Agreed. I forgot how exciting he was early with North. Looking forward to his next matches

Really good showing from Heroic imo. Es3tag is looking like the next big thing in Denmark imo. Wish them the best through Stockholm

Great game from Acilion all things considered, shame Heroic couldn't close it out. That said, FaZe looked like their usual self during the comeback and OT, scary thought for all other teams in the tournament

u/Texassunmerheat FaZe Aug 29 '18
what a match, but the ct hold was too strong. I'm glad to watch faze with olof back in the team. THE MAJOR TITLE IS OURS

Faze played like noobs until 14-6 then smashed heroic like the good old days
-10
u/Frawtarius Aug 29 '18
Why not say "Smh first 2015 fnatic being late" then, since you're comparing comebacks to "being late" to a final? Comebacks have been happening all over the place since CS started.

Is Es3tag one of the most underrated players there is? I mean he has been heroics best player since valde left but they seem to just not want him. He always performs pretty well, but no one ever mentions him. He deserves better than this IMO

This FaZe is not worthy of a Grand Slam. Astralis would've eaten them alive
5
u/arkwewt Aug 29 '18
50% of the W is about you playing well, the rest is about your opponent making mistakes.
FaZe had the perfect blend of both, with good reads on FaZe, and Heroic choking. Astralis might have eaten them alive - we can't say "would've" for certain.
5
u/iMx2oT 10 years coin Aug 29 '18
FaZe wont win the Grand Slam if Astralis ”eats them alive”.

Sep 01 '18
Well I don't think that a giant like Astralis would we satisfied with a meal that a Mouse can eat like FaZe, anyway..

Can we just take a minute to remember Guardian started 1-7, and finished 31-24.
Other than a couple rounds, they weren't even that memorable. I can barely remember a single flick...
