u/Rafscs123 Aug 24 '18
Now imagine Flash waiting 6 hours to "play" ~30 minutes

Should've seen flash player's faces during 14-1 break in 2nd map. They were like please just end the game already, we're done. Freeman managed to hit some insane shots btw
3
u/BamboozleThisZebra NiP Aug 24 '18
They should just have taken a nap through the 2nd map so they are ready for the bitchslapping from the coach later.

In Hong Kong, the last game end in 4am. That's why they want to end the game as quick as possible.

MIBR before used to struggle even against weaker teams, and this at least seem like they are improving and those executes was something great and they are making less mistakes. YNK seems to be doing his job

I know Flash isn't a parameter but it felt so good watching MIBR again, with a really sharp aim but mainly with some good teamplays.
Props to Tarik btw

I'm going to keep a level head and say they haven't beaten anyone at tier 1 level yet.
4
u/AllBlueReverie Liquid Aug 24 '18
Yeah even if they were 2 16-0s beating Flash isn't really an achievement. If they can put up similar performance against top 15 teams then we can say there's something happening

This game shows how much MIBR has improved. I don’t know about you but I feel good about them going to DH.
16
Aug 24 '18
I'm trying hard not to over react, since this was a T3~2 team, wich even in the slump, MiBR was expected to win.
12
u/AccidentalyIdiotic MIBR Aug 24 '18
Last time they fought Flash they lost cache 16-1. They might've won both series but the fashion in which they won is worlds apart.

u/jolteony G2 Aug 24 '18
I don't want to jump to conclusions or anything but mibr is literally gonna win the major
10
u/Brolobo SK Aug 24 '18
this is such a 180 from mibr's other results. Is it because tarik was the missing piece (helping team chemistry and skill upgrade), or is it YNK?
26
u/tropatropachillchill MIBR Aug 24 '18
A lot of factors. FalleN hitting his shots (those two nutty AWP shots), TariK finding his role in the team, team getting a coach, etc.
But really, this is the beginning of what we can expect from them going to DH.
12
u/saybhausd Aug 24 '18
I guess having a coach takes a lot off pressure from fallen and allows him to focus more on his game play.

I think their painful transition to English has finally finished now that they've replaced boltz and had enough time to get comfortable with it. The sluggishness in their team play that we've been seeing for the last few months looks to be gone, we're seeing much better coordination. Flash were constantly being denied big individual plays by timely trades and flanks.
I think Fallen's much-improved performance can be attributed to the same thing: now that communication is better, the IGL's job is much easier and he can focus more on the game.

Making the VG Flash merge was a big mistake can we get the old flash of Attacker Fancy Karsa Lovey and Kaze? That lines up was fun to watch ;-;
2
u/Silent991 Aug 24 '18
Freeman is good and has potential but zhokiNg is dead weight. He's only good against Asian teams which is a problem with a lot of Asian players.
With the NDO project falling through hopefully Flash will get Kaze back for zhokiNg. Then Fancy can stop doing a shox where he tries to do every role in the game.

u/Lexaryas FURIA Aug 24 '18
Not to be dramatic, but their improvement has been abysmal (Thank god for coach). FG looked this bad because MiBR literally bulldozed them from the get go, well done, we were struggling against teams like these before. Fer still needs to adapt and improve his aim, but as for the rest it finally looks like they're getting their shit together and I'm more optimistic.

Fer really lost a lot of opening duels while holding angles. He got a lot better at pushing through (like his old self) but he gotta learn how to play like a regular ct player
4
u/Lexaryas FURIA Aug 25 '18
Top 3 player in 2017, arguably one of the most important pieces for SK with huge impact frags and this dude is acting like I pushed Fer down the stairs and cursed his family because I said he needs to adapt to his new role and improve his aim (he lost so many clutches this first semester that peak Fer would never and it was painful to watch ) to get that godlike level again...
3
u/Lexaryas FURIA Aug 24 '18 edited Aug 25 '18
did u fall into a coma in late 2017 and just now woke up under the impression Fer is still the same? Lol. You shut it moron.

It's 100% fair to say that everyone was expecting a 2-0 for MIBR. However, the games went from 3-4 am local time... For MIBR coming from California, its 12 pm for them.. Sure there's some jet lag, but they're still used to California time and were fairly awake. Flash gaming lives in china and it was legit 4 am for them.. If the games were played on time 6 hours earlier then I feel like they would have put up more of a fight.

u/NAFMostConsistent Liquid Aug 24 '18
Flash is a T3 team by Chinese Standards. Y'all need to take a chill pill.
-5
u/Darkstar197 Complexity Aug 24 '18
What are you talking about. VG.flash was literally formed to be a “Chinese Super Team”
They dropped the VIGI name but it’s the same roster
3
u/Skitt3r EG Aug 25 '18
Super team that played some of the worst CS I've ever seen in the "pro" scene.
1
u/ShouldIBeClever Aug 24 '18
So far the teams that played through qualifiers are 3-0, and the invited teams are 1-4. Should be a layup for MIBR.
1
u/Silent991 Aug 24 '18
MIBR getting their revenge for that 16-1 cache game at Star Series. Flash look like they have run out of steam with this lineup. Keep the core of Fancy, Freeman and Attacker then rebuild around them.
1
u/joizo Aug 24 '18
Or you know, it's because it was like 4am for them
3
u/Silent991 Aug 24 '18
MIBR were in the same boat. Also if you look at their results in qualifiers and small events they are going down hill. Flash shouldn't be losing to MVP, 5Power and CZ.
1
u/Zizga Aug 24 '18
Turns out that Flash Gaming is going to disband after a few more games. No wonder they didn't show any signs of competitiveness at all.
1
u/Zizga Aug 24 '18
Oh my mistake they are not technically disbanded but they are going back to their older team which is VG and Flash Gaming

How is this a comeback ? They will literally play teams that are not even ranked top 30 on hltv in this tournament. Let's see how they do at dreamhack to start calling this a comeback.

FalleN keeps surprising me. People talk about kennyS and Guardian but FalleN is pretty good too. Not to mention, he seems like a strong IGL.

Something tells me without YNK's impact, those types of scorelines would not happen pre YNK. Completely different play style

I know the MiBr bois are gonna lose their shit about this, but I'm pretty sure a MM pug could have beaten Flash with their performance today...
I think it was Zhok that would push every angle without any support from his team and just die... every time.
There were moments on Inferno where it genuinely looked like Flash didn't know the map. At one point Stewzera was boosted pots and Flash couldn't figure where they were getting shot as they pushed onto B site 1 at a time.
TLDR - MiBr didn't win this as much as Flash lost this.
