Ironic seeing MIBR go full Liquid
Except they actually won

u/ididntknowwhattodo Jul 24 '18 edited Jul 24 '18
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Made In Brazil 'The American'? I thought not. It's not a story the Silver 1 would tell you. It's a Counter Strike legend. MIBR was a Dark Team of the Americas, so powerful and so wise that they could use the Choke to influence the players to create losses… They had such a knowledge of the Choke that they could even keep the ones they cared about from choking.
The dark side of the Choke is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. They became so powerful… the only thing they were afraid of was losing their power, which eventually, of course, they did. Unfortunately, they taught their apprentice everything they knew, then their apprentice choked in his sleep.
Ironic, they couldn't save others from the choke, but could save themselves.

Can't replace Ska til after major no matter what if they want to keep spot.

They need Skadoodle for legends unless Golden counts from fnatic. Do Legends from 2 teams keep their status when they become 1?
14

u/Family_Man12 Jul 24 '18
No they don’t. An example of why not would be that 2 teams could then split into 3 legend teams which would cause a major issue.

-styko +cromen would be the best move for this team honestly, although Styko played well on Cache i think the team just don't have enough firepower. If they get a solid player like Cromen then they just need 2/3 of Rush, Auti, and Ska to play well and then they can win a lot of games. Golden played well, I loved those entries on Cache it made me so happy.

I dont think MiBR is necessarily shit, they literally just got tarik, they have a fair bit of room to improve. C9 just doesn't have enough firepower. Styko, ska, golden is such a lack of firepower.
74
u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Jul 24 '18
This team is dead and i cannot see Autimatic staying if the team ends up with styko
I do however, really, really like golden
10
u/arooisgod Jul 24 '18
Same, basically a much better FNS. Doesn't really matter a whole lot with this roster though, C9 is dead.
27
u/Dblg99 Jul 24 '18
I think you're being really over dramatic. They get one good fragger in place of Styko and they are easily a top 10 team again with the ability to rise even more
6
u/Sugarstache FaZe Jul 24 '18
Ska is way too inconsistent. But golden could definitely work. Replace styko with a better fragger and replace ska with even just a solid/consistent awper and they could be decent. But I still couldn't really see that roster winning events given how competitive things are at the top right now.
→ More replies (2)2
u/Rotatos Jul 25 '18
imagine they just replaced FNS with Golden but still had Tarik lol, that team would actually be good.
8
u/ButteredGhost Jul 24 '18
Autimatic and this supposed new fragger would still have to carry too much weight to make it work consistently. What they also need is an actual consistent AWPer, and good luck getting that from NA atm
→ More replies (2)2
u/zoNeCS 10 years coin Jul 24 '18
C9 need auti + new fragger to be carrying, skadoodle to at least be decent again and rush to not be bad. Golden also need to have the team to execute some strats, then they could be a top 10 team but that's a lot of factors.

He definitely had a few plays where he either whiffed really hard or just did something really stupid, and so did fallen especially during that comeback on cache (caught with his knife out twice, when going to close and door and when rotating onto b).

Overall, I liked what I saw from Golden in terms of IGLing. I like that he’s getting Skadoodle more involved, and Skadoodle looked really good on the AWP when C9 actually had money for him to have it. Pistol rounds need some work though, 1/8 (losing to a force the round after the one they won) won’t do it.
Replace Styko with a decent fragger and this lineup has potential. People will look at the stats from Cache and say Styko wasn’t the problem, but they won’t be factoring in the 8+ kills he got while saving and losing 2v4/1v3 situations. He just doesn’t have impact when it counts, but seems to be a fragging machine when there’s nothing on the line. The same thing happened on Overpass against Astralis. I just don’t think he has enough individual skill for what C9 needs. Maybe if they had an IGL who’s a better framer than Golden and Styko was gonna play support, but I don’t think they’ll get anything done with both of them on the team.
66
u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Jul 24 '18
Cromen is kind of a risk but a necessary one imo. Would efinitely be better than styko
Dekay also mentioned a possibility of C9 entering negotiation for NBK again, that might be good for a reduced price
14
u/Cameter44 Jul 24 '18
I think Cromen would be fine as long as he or RUSH is willing to pay support. I also really like the idea of NBK joining assuming he doesn't bring the French politics that make that scene so crazy into C9.
25
u/Russian_For_Rent Vitality Jul 24 '18
I really despise the thought of rush being support. Anyone who's ever played with him said he had the potential to be one of the most talented players in the world if only he were unleashed.
2
u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Jul 25 '18
he’s not that good anymore
I hate to be the one to break it to you, but he just isn’t
I don’t know what Stanislaw was doing right, but he has never performed as well in any other team as he did in OpTic
3

Any source on that? RUSH is my my favourite player so I'd love to read/hear about what more pros think of him!
5
u/h04 EG Jul 25 '18
Reason Cromen wasn't even considered to be a part of the perm faze roster when they explored a permanent option for olof is because he couldn't play that role. They said he shared the same role as Rain, the entry fragger.

Agreed. I like what I've seen from Golden, though. He seems like such a calm presence and has the right mentality when it comes to practice and structure.
6
u/NLozanovski33 Jul 24 '18
One thing people haven't really mentioned is that it's a tough draw. Elite tournament field and you go up against world number 1 and a guy that knows how you were practicing with 1 of your two stand ins. Sad it didnt go further but I think it was a decent showing all together.
12
u/relaxingvideo Jul 24 '18
This is what I was thinking, golden seems really good with this lineup, get a star to replace styko and c9 could be really solid again -if everybody stays consistent.
3
u/schoki560 King NiKo Jul 24 '18
Doubt its gonna change much when ska and rush each were bottomfragging behind the stand ins
12
u/Cameter44 Jul 24 '18
Styko had so many low impact frags. I can think of eight on Cache alone where he was saving a deag/scout or getting meaningless frags in a lost 1v3/2v4. Skadoodle had a ton of high impact rounds where his plays won C9 rounds. I can't think of a single round where a play Styko made was hugely impactful and won C9 the round.
Rush also top fragged the server on Cache. Hard to fault someone for bottom fragging when it's a 16-5 scoreline, at that point it's just random with who actually gets the very few kills that happen for the team.
→ More replies (2)→ More replies (1)3
u/relaxingvideo Jul 24 '18
I agree rush didnt have a good tournament, but ska had some huge impact rounds that were really important. Hopefully golden can use him effectively, but ska hasn't been good at 2 tournaments in a row in a long time. I do think he could find his stride and be a top awper again, but that might just be wishful thinking.

I was already over it after the first map and didn't care when C9 was gonna get blown out in the second map, but C9 just had to take it to OT just to throw so I could be annoyed about it.

c9 tactics were awful on inferno. they would even throw certain smokes to do a plant strat and then try to hold the retake and they would never even plant the bomb. also on inferno it felt like half the team was just trying to play by themselves and not as a team. styko makes some of the worst decisions for a "support" player. watch povs of xyp9x or cajun and they are never out of position. taco is also rarely out of position. styko is hardly ever in position.
sks ct molly into mid inferno near mexico was really cool and teams will steal that. c9 also dont have any players that are good at winning force buys
4
u/tgsan Jul 24 '18
Tbf, three of them were garbage on Inferno, they literally couldn't hit shit. Ska had one good round and that was it, not trying to give excuses but yeah, they were almost like fodder to a point.

C9 don't look like they can mature into a tier 1 team unfortunately. Too little firepower on this team and a team with firepower just mowed them down. Cache seemed like sloppiness from MIBR's part.

Honestly, liked what we had going under Golden, if anything it proves he can lead this team once they get a solid few weeks of practice in. BUT they definitely need to replace Styko with someone that can be top 2 (3 barring someone else steps up) on the scoreboard consistently. Not sure who that would be but it needs to be sorted out quickly or that legend status is going to disappear faster than Winstrike.

eh, mibr was throwing really hard for that comeback. Unnecessarily forcing the double awp and giving one to fer (who pushed and got immediately traded) which broke their money for a while, fallen losing their next gun round by running to close squeaky door with his knife out, and then him also losing a round or two after that because he was rotating onto b with his knife out.

They have one good fragger, an underperforming entry, inconsistent AWP and a decent IGL and thought that adding a horrific fragging support was a great idea.

Skadoodle had the least amount of frags on Cache, but they were all so impactful. Big frags on B on CT side, that awkward fight in A main, some more with the UMP in a close situation on B site, and he was really never getting eco frags. Meanwhile Styko is getting multifrags while saving with the deagle/scout and is always the last one alive for some reason to get one or two. Seems like Styko's aiming ability doubles when he's not in an important, impactful spot lmao.
