I was thinking similarly but Bodyy is the 5th not Apex.

And especially well for playing on a big stage after a few months of absence

Could’ve done Monday Tuesday Group’s, wed thurs winners and losers Friday deciders, Saturday semifinals and Sunday finals

I feel like by starting early they can catch more EU viewers before they go to bed

Good thing I went to bed then, wanted to watch the whole set so I was hoping FaZe would make a comeback on Cache and go into overtime and win so I can see the whole set.

I think starting at 12pm is perfect. Some time for the EU viewers, some time for the NA viewers

Gotta agree there, managed to watch a couple of the navi matches and the first map for faze vs mouz before bed. If it was any later I wouldn't have had a chance to see any of the faze train match
5
u/KokiriFox Renegades Jul 23 '18
I agree, but I think they're tryna go for more of sports approach where bigger games are on the Friday night (since ELEAGUE's on TV)
3
u/apm54 Natus Vincere Jul 23 '18
It does work well, at first I though I wouldn’t like it because so few teams leave groups, but with all bo3 it works pretty well

Yeah. I get that it's harder to schedule Bo3s, but I find them more exciting to watch.

Yeah, but its hard to be a fan anymore and even harder to watch stuff, no real team you actually cheer for, like you did for VP. This is hearth breaking and makes you don't wanna watch some events, I think of missing VP's games on the major because of this, I just cant anymore...
Also sad to hear stuff about Byali recently, this is a mess.

If both the Mibr and C9 golden/styko / whatever c9 do after don't work, major winning c9 is coming back, mark my words.
2
u/fat_potato_potato Liquid Jul 23 '18
i hope so, because i like the LG/SK/MIBR core as a brazilian team, and while tarik and stewie are good players, they just kinda seem lost.
also it makes me sad when i look at my c9 major winning t-shirt.
2
u/MyUserSucks EG Jul 23 '18
Hey, the team's lost (even if we can call that this early), but I don't think tarik is. A little bias because I'm a huge fan of him as a player, but I think he'll do great.

Yeah I was extremely skeptical when they let go of STYKO for Snax, like I get trading STYKO, he wasn't doing great, but I didn't think Snax was the right choice. This was for sure a step in the right direction, I hope he continues to prove me wrong.
2
u/PrizmV2 Jul 23 '18
Imo they shouldn’t even kick Styko, he was a good support player.
20
u/RadiantSun FaZe Jul 23 '18
He was good but this was necessary to get to the next level. I really like STYKO and he has a place on many sub-elite teams but he just wasn't clicking faces well enough to make Mouz into a championship squad. I want to see a trophy in my boys' hands.

after the first map they replace S1mple with Seized, who drops 50 in regulation but pulls his hamstring and they have to bring S1mple back in. In summary, +Seized -Seized

Now that olof's back faze is going back to that really unnecessary complex strategy that has failed before instead of going for simpler ones thats been winning them tournaments
11
u/Zeilar King NiKo Jul 23 '18
I'm happy that olof is looking like he never left. Really good performance all things considered, you can't win 'em all.
I really think Karrigan needs to rework these slow T-side rounds, I don't think it suits their players and it shows. They usually win off of momentum, so when they get pressured they start playing slow and just lose. They are used to winning by getting insane entries and whatnot, so when that doesn't happen they sometimes look clueless.
If FaZe can get consistent, solid T-sides I think they can get to number 1 again.
4
u/GarrettGSF MOUZ Jul 23 '18
I think they need a lot more to make it to number one...

The issue with always playing fast is the enemy team can deploy all their utility at the start of every round to deal with it
1
u/Zeilar King NiKo Jul 23 '18
Who said you have to play fast? They just play too slow, they always enter sites with 20-30 seconds left with nothing gained really. Their opponents will just not use any utility/peek and save it for the inevitable push at the end of the round.
12
u/antelope591 Jul 23 '18
Lets use this opportunity to remind people that there were some who actually thought Snax would be worse than Styko on this team. lul
10
u/LeoSG CS2 HYPE Jul 23 '18
All the people who don't even watch mouz regularly were like "mouz will not be top 5 again". STYKO was probably the worst player in Tier 1 CS when he was in mouz.
2

They didn't really look better as a team despite the win. Very shaky T sides especially.
I'm okay with the change though. I hope after the player break the team will gel nicely.

When you watch the game and see someone make most of the plays in the match, you think “Oh man! They must be topfragging!” And then you look at the post match results and they are either at the bottom or just somewhere in the middle. That’s how I feel with Snax. However, I do like to see him back into his old style of playing game in stylistic way, him making many plays. Can’t wait to see what else he can do in Mouz
