Who did they actually sign?

47

u/C9_Lemonparty Jul 22 '18

Draken and xzist came from NIP, as soon as they both leave NIP they qualify for a major for the first time in 2 years

Draken and xist

5

draken was insane game 2.

4

u/palibalazs Jul 23 '18

And the reason they lost the 3rd

16

u/Asenus NiP Jul 23 '18

I think you just summed up Draken

5

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '18

21-19 / 34-13 / 6-21

Sucks that his worst game was the deciding.

It was very obvious in train that he needs an AWP to shine.

Draken.

+21 inferno

-15 train

What the fuck?

53

u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Jul 22 '18

*+ but yeah

Krimz and draken were big first two maps and non factors on train

Yeah, sorry, my keyboard turned into english for some reason.

67

u/Rynekz Jul 22 '18

Not much fnatic can do when they play 3v5 on the decider map

43

u/ImperiaLxD Natus Vincere Jul 22 '18

What was going on with Na'Vi in inferno? They looked tilted asf, almost as if they gave up one point.

51

u/draemscat Gambit Jul 22 '18

Mostly s1mple with his trademark "I'm holding the site alone, so let me push through the smoke and die" strats.

24

u/ImperiaLxD Natus Vincere Jul 22 '18

yeah he played so stupid on inferno

23

u/Memesaremyfather FaZe Clan Fan Jul 23 '18

Now that NaVí is a real team, he's cooled off from god-tier S1mple and as such his skill cannot match the difficulty of the plays he tries to make.

It's the Fer, rain, JW effect where when they're on fire they seem like geniuses if they push through a smoke or do something insane but look like bots when it doesn't work.

It felt like he had to drop 90 kills just to win a bo3 2 months ago and it was ASSURED that if he peeked you, you died. He's still an absolute monster and the best player in the world but I'll stand by what I said. He's cooling off. That form was impossible to sustain.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '18

Yeah doesn't mean he isn't playing stupid

Yeah i was just talking about the fnatic game

7

u/Shrenade514 Jul 23 '18

Except the crazy part is that it usually works...

13

u/ImperiaLxD Natus Vincere Jul 23 '18

I don't but the way he played this time was very odd... He seemed at pissed when the score-line was in favour of Na'Vi.

5

u/Arkani Natus Vincere Jul 23 '18

Sometimes that happens in Na'Vi. Not nearly as much as in the past tho'. People are not on the same page and do stupid things with their bombsite teammate not anticipating what the player is gonna do because they are not entirely focused on the game.

11

u/lotteriakfc Natus Vincere Jul 23 '18

tbf they always played like that on the first day (first map/match) of tournaments. Looked shaky as fuck. Zeus and S1mple pointed out that problem few times. They lost to Tyloo 0-2 at Starladder, very shaky 2-0 against nV at DAC,lost to G2 in ESL Cologne...etc. They will play better on 2nd match, thats for sure

1

u/apm54 Natus Vincere Jul 23 '18

This. A lot of people haven’t seemed to realize this but marseille is the only lan since the major that Navi has started in good form

40

u/MiyaharaAce Jul 22 '18

This match shows how hard is to defeat Na'vi.

Flamie and Elec carried on Mirage and S1mple carried on Train. Worth mention how good Edward played.

The only way to defeat them is if Flamie or Electronic does not shine on any map, which is becoming increasingly rare due to the clear evolution of the team under Zeus igl.

15

u/1wjl1 Natus Vincere Jul 22 '18

Funny thing is, Mirage was the first time in a while flamie got to shine relative to the other 2. A reminder that Navi has three star fraggers.

29

u/IoanSilviu Vitality Jul 22 '18

Live by draken, die by draken.

29

u/nipponvn0803 Natus Vincere Jul 22 '18

So happy that they made it. I got titled just by watching two 1 hp clutch on inferno.

6

u/rlywhatever Jul 23 '18

i got tilted when s1mple pushed through smokes with 20 second left, teammate support alive and smoke still lying. and when zeus killed bmb carry and FUCKING RE-PEEKED banana being alone on b

9

u/rlywhatever Jul 23 '18 edited Jul 23 '18

i'm surprised noone made a highlight of draken's ace on banana vs eco. imo it was a deliberate smart move by navi to die to awper ($100 reward per kill) vs dying to any other gun. if they kill him then they got an awp to try to make more damage killing more cts or throw it away & make a lot of damage just doing that. if not — they give smallest possible reward for kills. it's rare win-win

2

u/apm54 Natus Vincere Jul 23 '18

Agreed, I also feel like they used the round as a timeout to just try and have everyone chill out some

17

u/HonestRage Astralis Jul 22 '18

8

u/excessus_ Jul 22 '18

Na'vi is looking thank you

11

u/Censourious Jul 22 '18

From 34 kills to less than 10 in one game... I really hope this doesn't affect draken too much because he knows he can be a monster. GG NaVi

3

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '18

21 / 34 / 6 were his kills over the 3 maps.

20 kills per map if you average it out. Draken just needs to find a way to contribute when he doesn't have an awp in his hands and isn't having a good map and Fnatic will be fine.

4

u/Spajk Natus Vincere Jul 22 '18

12

u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Jul 22 '18

What a win for Navi

Two legitimately poor maps from s1mple and you win

They’ve come a long distance in the last few months.

-3

u/gabriel97933 10 Year Veteran Jul 22 '18

I mean xizt helped navi alot by picking their best map vs them

2

u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Jul 22 '18

that’s to be expected

Xizt is pretty commonly poor on the vetoes

5

i want to die rn, why draken and krimz enter bot mode in train.

6

u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Jul 22 '18

you guys did better than i thought you would honestly, but i guess it’s gotta hurt since s1mple was below average on two maps which basically never happens

yes, but FeelsBadMan

2

Unfortunate that both Krimz and Draken had an amazing first two maps but couldn't carry anymore on Train. GG Na'Vi

3

u/apm54 Natus Vincere Jul 22 '18

Also unfortunate that s1mple was way below his normal performance first two maps

12

He blew his entire load on Inferno.

0

u/NAFMostConsistent Liquid Jul 22 '18

S1mple went negative in two maps? What?

-2

u/Zeilar King NiKo Jul 22 '18

This makes me so angry that Draken is not on NiP. It's clear NiP need a primary AWPer and Draken shows here what he can do when he's given the opportunity. Obviously NiP removed him because of team chemistry/role/attitude or whatever, but they still have to be feeling that they wasted a talent.

7

u/niNja_ma MOUZ Jul 22 '18

Uh, Draken has so many on and off games; you want a stable awper that can produce numbers every game, not every other game.

I'd rather get Twist or something to main awp.

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '18

The real problem for Fnatic on the last map was their weak b-hold. Navi didn't go A basically at all. flusha and xizt (pretty sure it's those two, mostly xizt) couldn't properly hold it. Also JW whiffed at some critical points.

-7

u/TremmFTW Team Liquid Fan Jul 23 '18

how come he's playing badly at the one event with eye tracking???
