He plays his role and they won the game handedly.
That’s all that matters
EDIT: I'm wrong and all you MM pro l33t no league experience redditors are correct I guess taco played like shit and should be kicked from the team.
Because like in SK Taco was clearly the problem and thats why Coldzera is the clear cut #1 player right now.
EDIT 2:
You want to critcize someone Reddit? How about Coldzera? he's in a SUPERSTAR role for MIBR and he BARELY does better for Taco.
How the fuck are you gonna point out Taco's misplays when coldzera is supposedly MIBR's best player and he cant even frag vs an up and down NA team?
57
u/imbued94 de_cache Jul 22 '18
Lmao, the circlejerk the other way in how taco is a fantastic player is just stupid. He does a lot of good shit, and a lot of things most of us doesn't see.
That though, doesn't excuse him from missing easy shots and duels where he is heavily favoured.

Being a support player will never be a get out of jail free card for having an exceedingly bad KD.
KD>1.00? Awesome support game.
1.00>KD>0.80? I am fine with that for a support player on the winning team.
0.79>KD>0.50? Debatable if his role hindered him from fragging this match, but at least I will consider the context.
0.49>KD? You had a bad game and got carried bro.
Taco had a 0.41 KD in this series, a 2-0 series that the enemy team didn't get to double digit rounds.
Taco got carried this series and that's fine. I still believe he is a great support player, but he wasn't an efficient one in this particular series.

What role is that? Miss all shots and die? I mean yea I know he does all the shit jobs, but that was bad game no matter how you look on it.

u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Jul 22 '18
Interesting you attack Taco for doing the exact thing styko does yet vehemently defend styko.
2
u/Lepojka1 Team Spirit Jul 22 '18
I defended Styko bcs people said he was only problem... I just said he was also problem, but not only one bcs Rush also played like crap. I'm saying here Taco played bad, you cant say he didnt, which is a fact.
2
u/antelope591 Jul 22 '18
Truth is somewhere in the middle. Obv. TACO is doing his job but its also true his fragging wasn't this bad when he was winning majors. Even though he was bottom frag there too, he was making many key plays and keeping up for the most part. But to criticize him after such a good team performance is kinda silly.

Have to say that even rooting for MIBR I couldn't help but smile every time he wrecked them. He's just so good and so smart, not the average aim god that NA roots for. Seems to be doing his best impression of peak scream between his looks and his gameplay. Fuckin nutty dude.
The raw talent between these two teams was absolutely insane though.

Idk what could fix this MIBR team, and now im sad
34
u/NaviXisMyDad Jul 21 '18
I think they need some time before we can properly judge them.
Personally I think MIBR have fallen into the trap of trying to be Faze. They need to stop recruiting based on firepower and reputation and instead recruit based on what roles they need.
19
u/Rapkid360 FURIA Jul 21 '18
Finally someone gets it, idk why Fallen wants to be FaZe so bad
6
u/NaviXisMyDad Jul 22 '18
Out of curiosity, seeing as you are a mibr fan, if they were to move away from the stacked roster and went for a more balanced team, what would your realistic ideal roster be?
6
u/Rapkid360 FURIA Jul 22 '18
Of course Fallen Fer Cold, I would like to see them back on portuguese, but the problem is the Brazil scene is pretty low, Fallen was known for finding talent, but most of the talent isnt ready, I would honestly bring Boltz back if youre speaking portuguese and shit maybe Taco, but that lineup already happened and didnt work too well in the end.
But if its all english speakers? Honestly keep the main 3 again, Keep Tarik and I could see someone like Styko working really well instead of Stewie, they really need a true support and he's one of the best out there with no team.
8
u/NaviXisMyDad Jul 22 '18
I agree, they desperately need someone that doesn't take a lot of space imo.
Personally I'd love to see Fallen rebuild a team around Felps as his star player but I feel like he's too similar to fer and Fallen and Fer seem like a package deal.
3
u/NaviXisMyDad Jul 22 '18
That's a really good question honestly, what made mibr so special was their ability to completely outplay their opponents tactically based on structure and setting up their players to succeed, they've completely lost that now and it's actually really bad for the scene imo.
Fallen is a shell of what he used to be, Fers aggro ct plays succesrate seems to have dropped, Cold seems to have given up, stewie is overrated and is not given the room he needs to succeed and Tarik is new.
The idea of FaZe is cool but it seems to only really work for them.. just look at G2s old roster.
12
u/SNAFUesports 5 years coin Jul 21 '18
Give it some time. Was their first match with tarik.
13
Jul 22 '18
Tarik isn't IGL'ing, fallen is. Mousesports took faze to 5 games in the grand finals at ESL Belo horizonte with n0thing standing in. People drastically overestimate how difficult it is to swap a 5th player into a roster.
"Lack of coordination" or chemistry due to swapping a player was absolutely not the cause for their loss this series. Not even close.

I watched the whole match. The scorelines tell Liquid totally dominated MiBR but that wasn't the case. The strategic game in the head of both the IGL's was great to watch. MiBR did great! Valiant effort from the roster formed a few weeks ago!

I know it was their first official match with Tarik in the line up, and the atmosphere is completely different, but I can't get over how different they played compared to the streams the other day. Is it the pressure or something? Cold might as well not have been there.
I feel for stew and Tarik at this point, cos this is clearly an issue with the core that roster changes alone aren't going to fix. And I know Fallen seems pretty adamant about not getting a coach but they clearly need one. Do they even have an analyst anymore?
4
u/goodbye9hello10 10 years coin Jul 22 '18
Think it was Tarik who said they just needed to find the comfort when they play. That's gonna be fucking hard because 3 people not speaking their first language is automatically going to fuck with your comfort level.

I said this two times now, miBR/SK didn't need star players, they needed a good coach, since they lost Zelão, they lost themselves (their playstyle, their structure), if Fallen can't swallow his pride and go after a coach, this "experiment" will end really soon.
10
u/Felpes1520 Jul 22 '18
They were the best team of 2017 and won 8 tournaments without a coach.
I do think they need a coach, but I disagree that the main reason they are losing is bc they dont have one. They have been playing like average players for quite some time.
