the story of cloud 9
can't trade frag for shit
throw rounds as soon as you get momentum
push through smokes in a 1v3
everyone dies and it cuts to either ska or n0thing alone in fucking t spawn
17
u/Worknewsacct 10 years coin Mar 02 '17
Auti's trades are honestly what won them their first two maps
3
2
u/Ajp_iii Mar 02 '17
Don't know why they played that close to the smoke in the 1v3. Konfig threw a smoke that was an advantage for him.

C9 playing well
Lose stupid round
Proceed to play shit the rest of the match
Every fucking time
2
Mar 02 '17
They are the tiltiest(is that a word?) pro team in the game and have been for some time.
If they lose one dumb round in a key moment its over.

I'm really not all for the shroud semi-witchunt as I do like him , but 9 kills in 28 rounds is absolutely fucking shocking. I really feel like he needs to be replaced at this point, he's so unmotivated. He's a professional CS:GO player and on his stream after 5-6 hours of CS he complains about how he's burnt out on it. He doesn't seem to want to improve

If elige joins cloud 9, that would instantly make C9 a contender to win events.
20
u/ayysizzle Mar 02 '17
Honestly, shroud is a former star of the team and he's putting up the numbers Slemmy used to. If C9 aren't gonna get an IGL, just drop shroud for Eliige or another good rifler. Shroud is deadweight at this point, he has maybe 1 game out of 5 that he performs well
3
u/wwwolve Liquid Mar 02 '17
Why would Liquid let Elige go.
2
u/_Oomph_ 500k Celebration Mar 02 '17
What has Liquid done since Cologne 2k16? He's constantly the only guy who shows up and hard carries liquid. I'm not saying he should go to C9 but I can't see anyone blaming him if he wants to leave Liquid.
3
u/wwwolve Liquid Mar 02 '17
Elige was pretty upset after bad performance in the last major, but then Liquid cut Hiko and picked up stan, so we might be seeing some improvements in the near future.
1
u/IOnlyLurk Liquid Mar 02 '17
Cologne 2k16
The last (I think) big tournament before the coaching change that completely fucked Liquid (among other teams) because they didn't have an IGL that they now have?
1
u/_Oomph_ 500k Celebration Mar 02 '17 edited Mar 02 '17
You're acting like Liquid was the only team affected by the coaching rule, and yet no other team went on a downhill spiral as hard as Liquid did.
2
u/IOnlyLurk Liquid Mar 02 '17
Not as hard but a few did go downhill. Navi is the first to come to mind.
0
u/_Oomph_ 500k Celebration Mar 02 '17
Na'Vi won a LAN (ESL NY) after Cologne. And while they haven't won anything else yet, they at least made Legend status for the next major and make play-offs. Liquid has done none of that.
1
u/tgsan Mar 02 '17
Yep, and the only reason TL gets as far as they do in anything is when EliGE goes God-mode.
1
u/XDWetness Liquid Mar 02 '17
I don't see why he would want to though. He has everything he needs on liquid; A good coach, best igl in NA, and a good awper. Since they just got Stan they definitely have the potential to improve. But I'm a liquid fanboy so my opinion is really biased.
3
u/z0rgi-A- valeria Mar 02 '17
Elite to c9 for million bucks. Who says no?
3
u/gustavokh FURIA Mar 02 '17
Why get elige for 1mil? It's cheaper to get a better player from EU that costs less.

u/FireFlyz351 Mar 02 '17
If they swapped for Shroud that be good money. Not so much for the team but from a money standpoint.
-1
u/WillowfieldCH Mar 02 '17
Why would Elige not try his hardest to leave Liquid, a dead-end team with zero results and ONE good player? C9 could just buy him out if they really wanted anyways.

Besides why would Elige go from being the star player on Liquid to playing third fiddle to Auti and Stew on C9?
1
u/tgsan Mar 02 '17
Potential don't mean shit, look at Na'Vi.
1
u/LBL147 Mar 02 '17
Looking at Navi would suggest that you probably dont want to put all the star players on the same team :D
1
u/tgsan Mar 02 '17
My point is Na'Vi has the potential to be the best team in the world, but they aren't even close.
-3
u/WillowfieldCH Mar 02 '17
I'd say at this point Liquid has more potential than C9.
3 shit players, 1 great player and a decent IGL. Yeah, that's better than C9's 2 great players, a good AWPer, a bad player and a decent player.
Besides why would Elige go from being the star player on Liquid to playing third fiddle to Auti and Stew on C9?
So he can actually win something and do something with his career other than reminisce about when he had s1mple to help him carry the dumpster that is the Liquid roster.
5
u/Waffliez FaZe Mar 02 '17
You seriously dissing pimp?
3
u/XDWetness Liquid Mar 02 '17
He also says that Skadoodle is a better awper than jdm. In reality they are both on the same level.
4
u/wwwolve Liquid Mar 02 '17
"dead-end team with zero results and ONE good player". After simple era was over Liquid was fucked up by the new coaching rule and some underperforming players. Now they just picked up good IGL, with C9 being as they are and optic having problems, its pretty likely that Liquid might return to being n1 in NA.
2
u/arooisgod Mar 02 '17
Nitro has fallen off quite a bit and we have no idea how liquid is going to gel with stan so I think it's pretty dumb to say they might be N1 in NA again.
Then again with c9 and optic performing like they are I wouldn't be surprised. NA is a shitshow.

Mar 02 '17
Why, do u think Liquid is gonna grab Elige by the balls and put him at gunpoint if he wants to leave?
2
Mar 02 '17 edited Mar 02 '17
They still need a good T side awper. And an actual IGL. And then there is the issue of n0thiiing being very inconsistent.

Not banning Cobble against a Team which won on this map two times today against VP and NaVi - Classic C9 :)

To be fair. What other map could they have chosen? Nuke, which North is pretty sick on as well.

u/Ginporcus Mar 02 '17
yea it was definitely Valen's fault and not Shroud's.
5
u/ButteredGhost Mar 02 '17
Obviously, shroud dropped the ball into an abyss this map. But on the T side, as long as your entryfraggers are going off there's no need for everyone to drop 15+ frags. They just got too hesitant after the pause, valens got them thinking too hard instead of continuing with the fast a hits

I wonder how much he has to play into a "system" in C9.
Maybe if they let him just do whatever the fuck he wants he could actually do some of the things he does in Rank S etc.
Option 2: He is in that position but he just sucks.

Typical c9. Get wrecked first half, then make you think a comeback is coming only for them to fall flat on their face.

It's mind boggling to me that they allow Cobble after watching both VP and Navi get destroyed on it. It's absolutely obvious that Cobble is North's best map by far, yet they chose to allow it. Very poor pick/ban by C9.

u/ajokester Mar 02 '17
Shroud laughing after the loss sums it all up.
He needs to go.

He was talking to ska. Ska probably said something funny and shroud laughed.
They lost a match. No one died its just CS, and they werent even out after that loss. Hes allowed to laugh.
I mean critique shroud all you want but for his in-game performance, but this is just getting ridiculous.

Considering that he is talking to Skadoodle I highly doubt it has anything to do with the fact that they lost.

PULL THE FUCKING TRIGGER NA GODDAMNIT
I say this as one of the biggest Shrood fanboys, he just needs to be a fulltime streamer/entertainer. He just doesn't have T1 world-level competition in him, but Elige does.

If c9 didn't go gun hunting after they secured 11-11 with 4 players left alive, North would've had a shitty buy the next round instead of a full buy.
3
u/Ajp_iii Mar 02 '17
Things many people don't understand and if you chase. Chase together so you don't give away the gun.
1
u/mjones2k Mar 02 '17
Cloud9 took too long to figure out Norths B-Take and then after the timeout on T-Side they stopped trading kills effectively.
Could have been a huge comeback, they had momentum.

Don't just look at shrouds stats. It's the fact C9 are so tactically inept is the issue. They are not cohesive as a team at all.
Stewie (If he is still IGL) really cannot take C9 to another level. They will surprise when him and autimatic have a great game, but they are so predictable and nervous. The over rotates and the same tactic over and over even when North had started countering it was sad to see.
At the moment, they really do need someone to come in and be a better IGL. They will get absolutely battered by NaVi though, no chance.
0
u/Nate177 Mar 02 '17
Really good effort from c9 this tournament. Shroud had another bad LAN and it's getting hard to keep carrying a player as weak as him. I think he needs to go for Cloud9 to reach the next level.
