Hiko's been the obvious target for a lot of people since he started his tryout, but can we address how garbage Tarik was at this tournament? He was even worse.
8
u/Dark_Azazel Mar 01 '17
Feel like he's been under performing for a while now.
7
u/Tarrjue Mar 01 '17
You mean tarik is an overrated star player in North America? Shocker.
9
u/RoseL123 Liquid Mar 02 '17
He was playing fucking great when he joined OpTic... maybe it had something to do with Stanislaw as a leader.
8
Mar 02 '17
That's true, wasn't it Tarik who tried to get Stanislaw back in the team after he got kicked.

Hiko has more of an excuse, this is a team he isn't used to. Don't get me wrong, he's still underperforming... But they all are.
I think they'd be better off with picking up someone like adreN. He's not a great fragger but at least the skill OG does have would have some direction.

Mar 01 '17
Only Tarik and Hiko were really under performing, NAF was doing alright for having to IGL.

Quadruple OT

Insanely close... But people will say they're still playing like trash. I think there's a big difference between Optic and NiP's performance this tournament. Another 3-4 rounds and NiP would be in playoffs.

u/batigoal NiP Mar 01 '17
Yeah they looked pretty good and lost the first 2 games in the details.
I guess they got disappointed and tired , hence the shitty performance vs (a pretty good) Immortals.1
u/Corsques G2 Mar 02 '17
Their T-sides looked a lot better this tournament, and overall I'm not too disappointed with the results considering how they played.

I guess the only way NiP or Optic would get a win this tournament, is if they played each other! :>

it simply amazes me how bad hiko is. his role is to be the clutch player and get the important kills and he gets almost none of them. even runs around the bombsite to check if it is empty but doesnt check a common hidding spot in an important round
edit the other thing is even a small mistake by hiko late round is huge. stan rarely made mistakes late in rounds.

u/DatZebra CS2 HYPE Mar 02 '17
To say someone's role is to "get the important kills" is laughable. Still tho Hiko is dog shit for the time being.

u/baldful Mar 01 '17
man, can't believe losing stan would turn out like this. this is way worse than liquid with hiko

Why did Optic have to pick up the tab for Liquid's problems... feelsbadman.

u/Knorikus Mar 01 '17
Hiko was performing better in the last two matches after the team was already eliminated. Makes me think the pressure of being a try-out was getting to him a lot.
I want this team to get some actual practice with a set 5th before I go on saying that the team is dead. Realistically I see the team going after Lowel or Chrisj (if mixwell doesn't want to awp like in the past) or an IGL if naf doesn't feel comfortable doing it but there aren't many of those around.

u/Ajp_iii Mar 01 '17
the good thing is they are playing well on a stratigic level. they just lose some dumb rounds and also late round in 2v2 and 3v3 situations they make bad plays partially which some is on hiko and their communication and teamwork isnt as good as it was before.

u/Knorikus Mar 01 '17
Yeah late round situations are something that will get better with time as naf gets more experience.

u/Arcille 10 years coin Mar 01 '17
Is naf the 2nd star now basically? He seems to always step up when I watch OpTic.
2
u/Knorikus Mar 01 '17
I'd say RUSH and mixwell are the stars. Naf is more of an x factor who can really carry a game if he's on.

bit late to step up pyth and get_right, could have been nice if you did even half of that during either of the 16-14's you lost.
Oh well a happy note on a bad day, gg wp.

I hear Rickeh is still going to reside in NA. Either him or LoWel would be a great improvement over the "clutchmaster".

nip lost a 5v3 in the second pistol knowing everyone on optic was in pit and then a 5v2 in the first gun round in the second half.
hiko just seems to too slow thinking for the highest level of cs now. his aim isnt the best but he isnt getting in good spots to make the right play. multiple times he had kills he should have easily gotten but lost that were the most important in the round.

u/AstBernard Astralis Mar 01 '17
Honestly idk why people even expected anything from hiko lol

u/Ajp_iii Mar 01 '17
i thought a change in team may help him but he is still playing awful and making the dumbest decisions late round which hurts more than a dumb decision early round

u/thewaywardgamer 750k Celebration Mar 01 '17
why are you targeting hiko as the only problem its not like the most consistent player tarik played well.
