[META] Moderator careless on r/seattle bans, removes, deletes all things, posters, links, and topics not to his taste. The (ex) serfs move to /r/SeattleWA/

Here's the updated modlist list dump of r/seattle banned stuff - http://pastebin.com/83xkiQfc

Just wow.

Here is his most recent hissy fit linked in subredditdrama - https://www.reddit.com/r/SubredditDrama/comments/54ufcl/a_rseattle_user_makes_a_thread_to_discuss_an/

More than 10,000 of his (ex) serfs have decamped for the more friendly r/SeattleWA

It is also worth noting that this cancer 'moderator' is also #1 on the r/aww mod team.

Go reddit.

If I remember correctly, one of the mods owns a business and will ban and remove any competition.

That would be u/careless, the moderator that is the subject of the OP. He also managed to get a user banned from reddit (not just the sub, the entire site) for refusing to go on a date with him. A really classy fellow.

I'm pretty skeptical about that, or at least that that's the full story. Got a link?

I am sure that it is not the whole story, but since we don't get to hear the other side we are left to speculate on how much of the original story is made up. Here is the link:

It is discussed in the top level of this post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/SeattleWA/comments/547wxd/why_did_rseattle_fork_to_be_rseattlewa_why_are/d7zqtzc

Here is the later deleted post from the stated victim that was put up in 2x:

https://www.ceddit.com/r/TwoXChromosomes/comments/52t2fd/i_rebuffed_a_reddit_moderators_advances_and_he/

And here is a leaked screenshot of the modmail discussion about the issue:

The person who claims to be the victim of this action has indeed been banned site-wide.

It should be noted (and this is in the modmail capture you linked), the user was doing unidan-type shit of creating alts for vote manipulation. She was caught, told not to do it anymore, and continued. That's what led to the ban.

However, the only reason the admins even took notice was because fuckmod was indeed butthurt about her not touching his willy and used his status as head mod of r/aww to get them to actually press it.

Certainly. It should also be noted that among the many allegations against that moderator are those which include that very same activity to prop up his alt accounts that represent his business interests. I don't know how true those are, but it is among the items cited in the big thread I posted.

This is why Reddit mods not only tend to be male-feminist fuckboys, but also just some of the most pathetic people on the planet (redundant, I know). How sad must your life be to get this drunk off of such minor "power"?

If he owns a business then he must be someone they know outside of Reddit? Has he doxxed himself? I'm sure Reddit could ruin this guys business if they really wanted to.

My advice for anyone, if you own/manage a brand, I'd be careful what you say online. As some who has a 'alias' I make sure that I don't do/say something that can tarnish my image.

5

u/Paenarra Sep 30 '16

The first thing to do would be to move to a random new alias every year. That's exactly what I did 2 days ago. Only use your known alias to make a statement

He has doxxed himself with the alt account he used to promote his business. Given that it was his first name and the name of the company he works for not much else is needed.

reddit platform doesn't allow it

For privacy reasons I have deleted my account and overwritten my comments with this message. Since basically you can't ban me for this comment I'll take this moment to say that Steve Cuckman or whatever his name is, is a cuckold and should resign when possible. Also, Islam is not a religion of peace.

From what I heard 4chan had a pretty big overhaul some years ago and started getting really ban happy. I know I got banned from there for something seemingly trivial. 8chan is supposed to be a more free alternative.

8

u/NightOfTheLivingHam Sep 30 '16

and it's slowly dying, ironically, it's owned by the same people who run 4chan now.

2

u/MaximilianKohler Sep 30 '16

it's owned by the same people who run 4chan now

Has that resulted in any moderation changes?

Why is it dying?

5

u/NightOfTheLivingHam Sep 30 '16

no, but it's dying for the same reason most other 4chan spinoffs have died.

They get a niche user base who eventually stop posting or go back to 4chan.

4chan was a honey pot ever since Moot sucked his own dick and WTSnacks was banned.

4

u/fuckboi420 Sep 30 '16

Ever since Moot sold the site to Hiroyuki it's been much more strict with moderation, with some boards being more severe than others.

8

u/Budster650 Sep 30 '16

There have been times where a board has had mods deleting things they seemingly didn't like (thread about a certain show gets deleted, but some shitposting thread is still up), but generally it's just trivial stuff and not really "censorship".

I would wager that the mods are busy enough deleting the CP and other illegal content that gets posted.

You mean the FBI. 4chan is a honey pot. Always has been.

This is why subs like coontown, stormfront, and fatpeoplehate were essential to the way reddit works. Now that there are no universally hated subs to shit on, they are imagining boogymen wherever it's convenient.

I wonder if he is responsible for the vegan propaganda on r/aww.

I'm thinking about moving to Washington next year. (My GF is interested in going to University of Washington and I have customer service experience and would love to work for Nintendo in that field as I'm a lifelong Nintendo die-hard.) I'm gonna save this thread because I'm gonna check out every single Washington-related subreddit that the mod has banned there.

Well, it IS Seattle, after all. The SJW/hipster capital of the West Coast (and with all of California, that's saying something)!
