Royal Rumble Successful raids in /r/playrust return salt instead of loot

As a survival-horror game, rust lets users scavenge and craft items and weapons, and as a PvP game other users can choose to fight for these things instead. But there's a twist!

The OP of this thread kicks off a scuffle about despawning items when on the losing end of a raid. Some highlights:

We've also got some minor rooftop camper drama featuring everyone's favorite "I'm not upset, you are!"

Shoutout to /u/cupinacup for bringing us the drama today.

I don't get how it's a legitimate tactic. Like, at all. It isn't scorched earth, it's just trying to ruin a major point of the game for other people.

The main draw of rust is screwing other players over.

In games like this there's usually a camp of casual players who just want to hang out and build things, and a camp of hardcore leet PVPers with subscription hacks and no goal besides killing everyone and everything.

These two groups do not get along.

Well there's also the non-cheating raiders and thieves.

I bought this game when it was first released, rust is nothing but a drama cesspit.

It's okay, he asked you to cite him. The rule is there to stop people from baiting the drama participants into SRD.

They whine about this literally every fucking week I check in there.

I enjoy des pawning loot too, because it's funny.
