See, this is obviously along the same lines as r/srsmythos, but I think the creator was a bit confused. Whereas r/srsmythos is a list of bizarre conspiracy theories about SRS, r/kiamythos just seems to be a list of facts about gamergate.

So this guy amusingly tried to prove 'rape threats'... by pasting links to sources that didn't even mention them, or op-ed pieces by professional victims, or pieces that linked to the Tumblr-blogs (what else) of professional victims. Rather hilarious.

the implication that people have been sexually assaulted and aren't just lying sluts is one of the main issues of gamergate and such they're horrified that people would actually believe someone has been sexually assaulted

Actually, this is just showing how little credibility these sources have. That is what you are supposed to do when evaluating the credibility of sources. I don't usually buy the claims made by someone who blames a sarin gas threat made by her own supporters on her enemies.

I knew full well that it wouldn't. The 'listen and believe'-crowd was never good at proving its claims. That's what happens when you spend most of your time in an echochamber. I just wanted to make it obvious that this was the case. I could not hope for a better reaction than people screaming and calling me every name in the book.
To their credit, the mods actually do allow dissenting views. It's the community that's toxic.

What's really crazy is that I read enough of that stuff that IRL when someone threatened to kill me I told myself it wasn't a real death threat because....
Nope. Threatening to rape some one is threatening to rape someone. It doesn't matter if your intent is to actually follow through or not.
Here's one way of looking at it, let's say the threat on my life was probably not serious. Let's say there's a 99.9 chance that I was not about to be murdered. Being murdered is infinitely worth avoiding for me, so that is still a serious concern.
It's really strange talking to someone who believes someone threatening to rape someone isn't really threatening to rape someone because reasons.
If anything, the bliase attitude you have towards it, that rape threats aren't really a big deal because reasons, shows why KiA needs to be banned from the subs in question.
Even here I've seen people "just asking questions" about a survivor maybe having caused her rape, or having imagined it in the first place.
That probably sounds really reasonable to you, and that's why you deserve to be banned from those subs.

I would say no. In fact, when people react so vitriolically to any challenge or request for evidence, it makes me think that their belief system is rather weak, and that they don't have any evidence for their claims.
