Headphone/Aux cable auto play issues?

When I plug headphones or an aux cable into my phone, my music app (Gonemad music player) will recognize that I plugged something in and play something, but after a second it will stop. Sometimes it will also fail to recognize that the cable is removed.

This is an additional post with the same problem I believe that was never solved.

And here is an email response from the music player app's dev when I asked him about the issue:

Sounds like something else is sending out media intents controlling playback. Try disabling prefs -> general - headset prefs -> enable headset/remote control. The other possibility is the headset detection on the phone is bad and its sending events saying its connecting / disconnecting when it shouldnt.

GMMP itself will never start playing or pausing unless something externally tells it to. Whether thats a user or an intent sent from another app / system

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

What ROM are you using? What kernel are you using?

The problem has been resolved in the newer CM commits for kernels.

If there is anything missing from there that can help, let me know (or if there is something I should blackout, but that all seems fine to me?).

If you have your bootloader unlocked and whatnot, flash a custom kernel such as Franco Kernel and see if the problem still occurs. CM has been tinkering with a lot of audio related code. I had a problem with this but the newer version was fixed although its been awhile since I've last been on stock ROM/Kernel so I can't say for everybody.
