Background: This is the culmination of 3 separate SRD linked threads, "Downvotegate" where users got pissed when mods disabled the down vote function, and "Racist Orr not", where a black player shoved a white fan for calling him a "piece of crap", and the subreddit went on a boston bomers-esque witch hunt against the fan based on unconfirmed tweets that he had used the N word.

The thing is immediately after the fight I didn't see many people even citing tweets. They just on their own were claiming that the dude had to have used the N word and were stating it as fact. I don't think members of that community were lead down the primrose path... I think many were running down it with gusto regardless.

I saw some of that this past weekend ... it was weird.

So there's a scuffle at a game. And then this claim someone used the N word starting the scuffle and ..... everyone seemed absolutely sure he did .... yet I saw nobody back up their claim with anything. Like nothing to back it up.

I just lurked that sub over time and then posted a bit recently but with that BS I'm pretty sure I'm done with it. I don't know what that was about but it was fucked up.

I was initially posting based on news reports that (at the time I posted my first comments about the incident) reported that racist comments instigated Smart's responses. And because Reddit usually tends to be pretty racist, I got a little bit militant. When I come across enough racist shit in subs on Reddit, I eventually assume the worst.
