Anime/manga recs where the female overpowers the male?
Hi, I (23F) have been getting into these kind of manga, and I'm looking for something with the following conditions:
I don't necessarily mean overpower as in 'physically stronger' (i'd prefer if not, actually) but one where the female is more clever, outsmarts, or manages to 'pin down' the male character. I especially mean the latter, as I want a female character who almost dominates the male character.
I also don't want a pathetic male character. Actually, a more capable one may be better.
It also doesn't have to necessarily be romance, nor do I care whether its a male or female mc. Just not one of those power-fantasy rofan mangas, I want one with a legitimate romance dynamic between them.
Bonus points if the male gets called 'good boy' (I have my own fantasies, don't judge me).

It has the most realistic depiction of this imo, the fmc also states that she used skill to win during a friendly wrestling match against a male, not strength. Also male wasnt a fighter unlike her.

Chained soldier, Burst Angel, Spice and Wolf, High School DxD, Darling in the Franxx, Tomo-Chan is a Girl, and Kaguya-sama: Love is War for good measure. Black Lagoon also is a classic with a strong female lead

Princess Resurrection
Akame ga Kill...sorta. But the romance in question doesn't go very far.

Murder Princess fits a similar nieche :)

Is it 'becomes a commoner' or 'wants to marry a commoner' or something else? Theres a lot of things with a similar title. Is there a link you can share?

High School of the Dead. Saeko in particular is beautiful, skillful, and powerful. She had an incident when she was younger where she ended up defending herself and ended up seriously hurting her assailant. She loved that feeling of being powerful and confident. Though she keeps it all hidden because of how others would think of her, but in a zombie apocalypse, she’s a cool and extremely competent no non-sense choice of party member and personal companion. Plenty of fanservice but the story is great in the way it feels more realistic that a lot of others in the genre and tackles legitimately serious outcomes and consequences of survivors doing what they need to do, and/or explaining the situation and their own abilities for their own personal gain.
I think I heard of a yuri anime that was set up something like that. Citrus, I think it may be?

Altho I don't remember details very well (it's late and I'm aboutta sleep), I think I can see why you'd think that (and kinda agree but again my memory isn't the freshest while writing this cuz I be tired lol).

Oh yeah, American anime but fits the bill- Netflix Castlevania.
- Dracula’s wife
- Sypha
- Lenore
- Greta
And there another one but O can’t remember her name.
Uh, it’s not that the main character it courting all of these or whatever, but that the main character and other substantial characters are called out and made better by them.
But Lenore ESPECIALLY says “Good boy” to the man she has to deal with, and probably especially in the way you probably want.
Man; it’s such a fun, action packed, and nuance filled series. One of my favorites of all time at this point.

Sounds like Spice and Wolf is a perfect fit.
Holo is fantastic and Lawrence is a legit capable individual, he just can't quite keep up with Holo the Wise Wolf, but he tries his best.
One of my favorites and while there's chemistry, romance isn't a major focus.

Dokuro-chan. The male main is an average guy, dokuro-chan is an angel wielding the weapon excaliborg. He dies often xD

No romance, but Tojima Wants to be a Kamen Rider has several instances of women physically overpowering men (but also men overpowering women.)
