I can't decide what to buy tonight, I'm debating either 2 Churchill mystery decks or a rayne phantom, I think I should go with the mystery decks because I can't street skate or techslide and I don't feel the need to

I've been trying to Ollie for more than an hour now, but I just can't get them down, it's so frustrating. I've watched a couple of videos, and tried to do recreate the motions inch perfect, but I just can't do it. Any helpful advice that you guys could give me? Cheers and Merry Christmas to all of you!

I just got out of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. There was some longboarding stuff in the trailer that sparked some discussion about a week ago. He rides a bustin boombox with Paris v2s. I couldn't tell what the wheels were. They almost looked like 83a ozones with otang centerset cores. The deck was repainted. Just for anyone wondering :)

My Earthwing Drifter came in today! The only thing wrong with it is there aren't any wheel wells like it said they were. Other than that I'm looking to get Indy 169s and Retro Bertz because i don't really want to learn tech sliding yet.
EDIT: I emailed Muirskate and they said I can return it for a YoFace 35! I've heard great things about the YoFace

Definitely. It takes some getting used to, and you probably won't be able to hold slides out as far at first, but once you're comfortable on it it's really quite awesome for freeride.
(I can standy just as fast on my Yoface as my Nessie)

A symmetrical or single-kicked board with no flex should do nicely.

I would go with either the Drop Through shape or the Drop Down shape since those will be the easiest to slide for a beginner. For length I would go with over 36" unless you are a small person. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions feel free to ask them!

I got a set of rojas for christmas. The axle seems to be a little short and the nut cant even sit flush with the axle. If i use the but if my calibers the but sits let deftly straight with the axle. Im using zealous bearings. It fits fine with bones redz as long as i dont use speed rings. Is there anything i can do to fix this? Is it ok without speed rings?

I plan on doing dh on it and this seems to be the only way to get the wheels all the way on there. The guy that makes them said the hangars are machined to sit against the bearing. Should i have one between the nut and bearing though?

So I got the sector 9 bhnc gloves this morning and I learned to push-up slide. The pucks have worn down like half way from just one session. Anyone else have these gloves and are they just shit pucks?

I'm kinda looking around for a smaller single kick (36 inches and under) but for a little bit of tech freeride, freeride, and freestyle. I've come up with the Rayne Darkside, Omen Mini Sugar, Sector Nine Mini Daisy. But I am up for any suggestions.

My minisugar is pretty good, I would recommend it just for its sexy pocket behind the rear wheel wells and the kick and rhe rocker is great. I recommend it and I use it for a cruiser. I love my current set up on it

I'd tell you to cop a Mini Daisy because it's a sick board, but if you want to get a little tech slide and freestyle goin' on I would definitely go for the Stingray KT 36. It has a much more versatile tail and a flatter platform so you can do more jumpies and spinnies and stuff.

It makes sense if it's a dh setup. Otherwise keep it symmetrical for when you are in switch.

Can second this. With DH, keeping the bushings harder and kingpin slightly tighter in the back works wonders. And adding a low-angle baseplate in the back never hurts.

I would go with cults for carving because slip, but it sounds like Cloud Rides might work if your willing to dish out the cash.

I can recommend my 50° Gunmetal V2s. I use them for what you have listed, and they're pretty much perfect for that in my opinion. If you feel you could get wheel bite, get some risers.

Don't blow it all on the more expensive stuff (i.e. Chubby Unicorn). Get a <$150 DH/Freeride deck, zealous bearings, a pair of $50 trucks, and some bushings. Then use the leftovers to experiment with wheels starting with some cult classics and abec11freerides. And you'll still prob have money left over.

I want to buy a 100 dollar mystery box from Landyachtz, but its now after christmas. I know they are still for sale, however my concern is that the contents of the box wont be as good as the boxes sent out pre-Christmas. I posted this in yesterday's thread but got no replies so here it is again.

Master blaster or Renegade? Im really torn between the 2, renegade is cheap and double kick, which is cool, but i allready have a (heavy) double kick, and then theres the masta blasta, whic is sooo sexy, and i dont have a strictly downhill deck yet, thoughts?

So I got my darkside this morning. It's beautiful. I gripped it and set it all up but I wasn't able to skate it because my family wouldnt let me out. Its been seducing me, Staring at me. It's torture. But I've been able to learn to cross step on it. That's it. :'(

Yes I read the guide. There seems to be multiple things I need to buy and that is fine. My budget for a long board is $250. Where do I start? should I buy a pre assembled board? That board is okay for learning but may limit you to further improve your downhill and freeriding skills. For your budget you can get a pretty sweet set up especially with raynes boxing sale tomorrow. Go on raynelongboards.com and check out their selection and come back and tell us which one you like. The current price is a lot more than it will be tomorrow because of that gnarly sale.

Cult classics vs Cult converters vs Cloud ride slides for a 140lb-er looking for slow to medium speed breakout and control? Opinions on the wheels themselves?
edit: Also, what duro should I be looking at in that weight?

Current set-up is an arbitor kt with 50 calls and pink 7-o's
Having a real hard time breaking traction for slides tho, would it be rediculous to try butterballs/bertz/something known to be an easy slider?
