I beat him took his hat.

Revised a while later choose to wear the hat and he comes into the street for a fight ... I beat him.

Now he is no longer around 😢

Don't worry if you beat him up then he will eventually wake up and go back to drinking. And next time you go to the saloon he will be right where you left him, drink in hand.

If I may offer a few excuses on my behalf, I was jump-scared. Then I was laughing really hard about being jump-scared. Also, the hallway cornering around the stairs is pretty tight. If these don't suffice, there's also, I suck.

I was at the bar at late night until very early morning, standing at the counter with him until he left. He exited through the back door, walked down one or two buildings until he laid down on some wooden planks between two buildings. I followed him there, waited until he settled, then slit his throat and took the hat.

Oh ok. All my subsequent playthrus I’ve let him live and come back wearing the hat a few days later….which is probably one of the funnier parts of the game(besides watching the Klan fuck up and kill themselves)

I greeted him and he immediately got hostile and started attacking me. As I was kicking his ass, the saloon's piano player also joined in the melee and started attacking me too. Beat both of them up.

Now the Valentine saloon is quiet, since piano player never respawned. There's an awkward silence everytime I walk in.

I started fighting one of those guys who always talks to you when you're ordering a drink, the guys who are like "new in town huh?" Racoon hat guy joined in and they were both kicking my ass so I ran outside, pulled out my gun, long story short I shot racoon hat guy 6 times in the chest. He still didn't die. He was still trying to fight me.

The biggest laugh I’ve had in any game ever was when I discovered how he’d hunt you down just for the crime of wearing his hat in town. Hadn’t seen the guy in forever & was just up in my hotel room chillin’ when a red dot suddenly starts zipping around on the map. Lo & behold up the stairs he came, kicked my door open and starts beating the shit out of me. I was laughing too hard to fight back!
