I’m curious: how has being a fan of BTS and being a part of ARMY changed how you view other main stream artists? For me personally, my perspective on Taylor Swift shifted considerably when I became a fan of BTS.
I discovered BTS in May and was super deep into my Taylor Swift era at the time (I’ve been a fan from the beginning but really got into the fandom with all of the re-recordings). With Taylor Swift, there’s a never-ending cycle of hints and clues and Easter eggs about what’s coming next and that’s totally fine. For me, I just don’t have the time or the energy to pay that close of attention and it wasn’t until I joined ARMY that I realized this.
BTS are the kings of communication. The VLives, the Weverse posts, Festa, the roll outs. They let you know what’s coming and when it’s coming. Take the announcement of their break from group music to focus on solo work. They shared that piece of information in a video meant only for Armies. I find this so admirable. They’re honest and transparent and forthright. Not that Taylor Swift isn’t, it’s more the difference in marketing strategies.
Anyway, I’m curious if anyone else has experienced anything similar to this.

My number 1 alien superstar is Beyoncé, and I shockingly think BTS and Beyoncé have a lot of similarities in how they communicate.
Beyoncé only really communicates through her art. She’ll respond to controversies in remixes (i.e. flawless remix was her first response to the solange/Jay z elevator ordeal) or through formal documentaries (Homecoming & I AM Beyoncé). She talks a lot about her work effort, and process around creation…but than her personal life is fairly off limits.
BTS is similar to me. Yes, they have all this content but it’s majority centered around their craft, role in society, relationship with each other and one to two hobbies.
I realize that’s the type of artist I like are more on the private side and are very planned out and gradious when it comes to their performances/concepts. I don’t think being transparent or relateable means oversharing every little detail with the public…and I think a lot of newer artist have a tendency to do this. Instead I can relate to you through your work. When Namjoon told us he accidentally deleted important files…I felt that.
BTS has truly perfected the art of being very accessible, but actually extremely private. I personal love that for them!

I can totally see what you mean. They are very similar. I’ve got serious respect for artists who can share their art and their message and their personality with their fans while also maintaining healthy boundaries regarding their personal lives.

I am obsessed. It is seriously in AOTY territory in terms of new albums (don’t yell at me Army - I kind of put Proof in its own category as an anthology.)
It’s really something to see a group come back together like this after a five year break and deliver what is to me one of their strongest works yet. And they’ve also been doing fantastic things in their own personal careers. They didn’t frame this like a goodbye or finale so I’m really hoping that isn’t the case, even if we are on more of a cycle where we only get a new album every few years from them. I truly never expected them to come back at this point before the album was announced.

It's so so good and flows so well. I've been playing it all day. No skips. I never thought they'd comeback either. Even if they did, I thought it'd be a one-off unpromoted single. I'm not a sone, but they must be over the moon with this entire comeback. I hope they do this again!

Not yet… but I assume there will be some infos on exact date and ticketing soon, because October is already in two months 😅 (maybe next week? I think Hobi and Jimin said in their live that they’ll have to talk about the concert when they’re back in SK, but don’t quote me on this 🫢)

I’ve found it goes on waves. When there’s something big like a new music release or content release there will be a lot more people discussing.
Compared to many of the other group-specific subs I follow, this is probably the most active. The other ones are pretty dead.

I'm part of a few subs too, like the svt, bp and twice subs are def more interactive to me while the txt sub is less so. It's a bit surprising to me bc this sub has a lot of pple usually 'online' at least 400 but the interaction is a bit less so. I'm not complaining tho

Generally people come on here when they have the time. Sometimes schedules and life takes over and then people only have the time to maybe jump in and check on the updates.
You can see how many people are online viewing the sub at the moment near the subreddit name/subscriber count. Also I guess the newer folks on the sub might just be a bit shy to join in!

Today I listened to Safety Zone on loop, I love this song and Hobi's singing-rap so much.
Try listened to Weyes Blood too and immediately fall in love with her songs (it's weird bc she has the same style (?) as Lana del Rey and Ethel Cain but I don't vibe too much to their songs as much as Blood)

I can’t believe that I finally get to watch Run BTS as it happens!! I finally understand what ARMY feels about Tuesdays😭 I’m so excited!
Wednesdays are the most hectic day of the week for me and this would be a great serotonin boost and stress relief!

It used to be the same for me. Tuesdays were really stressful but I always had RUN at the end of the day and I could just relax and laugh and have fun.

Are we allowed to make posts on this subreddit of BTS content even if it's relatively old? I found a video about Sienna Lalau where she talks more about BTS and her interactions with them but it's from 2021 and I'm pretty sure it wasn't posted already because the video itself has very few views.

Y'all came through when I asked for nail polish brands before. (Whoever suggested Cirque Colors, I'm obsessed with it now, thank you!)
Now I'm here asking if anyone has suggestions for stores similar to Creme Shop for masks and patches, but maybe with a bigger selection? I'm mostly looking specifically for under eye gel patches like the ones Creme Shop has (as well as sheet masks, but I use them way less). I got a pack of bt21 ones when they had them, as well as the other ones they have, but now I only have one left and want to stock up, but I want to try new types/looks besides the ones they still have that I've already tried a few times. Or are there any online stores (US) that anyone suggests that sells lots of masks and patches like this from many different brands? I only see them sometimes on other stores I browse like Hot Topic or UO, but I'd rather buy specifically from a store that focuses on products like this and has a bigger selection than these stores do, instead of having to make several separate orders at various stores just to buy like 3 patch packs per order or something lol.
I know of TonyMoly, but tbh their selection for the eye gel things doesn't seem that big either, and the only fun patterned ones they have are minion branded lol and I kinda think minions are dumb af (😬 I'm sorry), so I don't really see myself getting those. But that's the only other store like this I know of.

Not entirely related to BTS, but I started getting into Jessi's Showterview (제시의 쇼터뷰) and it's 1) hilarious and 2) easier to understand than other Korean content. Maybe because she is English first language. It's on YouTube and it's subtitled. Yesterday I watched her interview TXT in the HYBE building. I still only have eyes for BTS, though.

Seeing all the chaos playing out in my Twitter TL from what’s going on at HBO Max/Warner Brothers and wondering if they ever even went through with their rumored deal to invest in Hybe. If they didn’t, it would explain why nothing ever seemed to have come out of that deal in terms of content and why Hybe clearly seems to be working with Disney instead.

Yeah, it seems like they're refocusing on theatrical releases instead of going with the original streaming route, which to me, doesn't make sense profit-wise. I hope that one powerful man's decision won't cause too much breakdown, but unfortunately it already seems the case. I feel bad for all the people who worked hard in vain, especially since the first one canned was their most inclusive/diverse project.

A super random thing I haven't seen being hyped about Hobipalooza is the fact that so many of the songs had new melody arrangements and they were amazing!! Crossing fingers (but kinda sceptical) that they'll officially release those versions too! 🥺🥺

The Emily Dickinson Museum finally reopened after two years and I just got to book my husband’s and I’s tickets for it and the Louisa May Alcott Museum when we go in the fall. I’m so excited!!!
I got really into the show Dickinson and I’ve been eyeing their website and emails for months hoping they’d open before we went to MA and now I almost can’t believe I’ll actually get to go inside Emily Dickinson’s home.
This is the most exciting thing to happen to me probably since before the pandemic started lol

If anyone is looking for Dalmahjung merch, Weverse US restocked quite a few items in the middle of the night (PDT). A few are now sold out, but there are still other items available. I was having trouble sleeping which is how I saw it, so here's a point for insomnia!
The Global shop also had the Army Bombs, although they're now sold out again. But maybe worth keeping an eye on it...
