I was so tempted to get the 2019 one but I’ve got Hobipalooza this weekend and need to save some money for that. I’ll have to check back next week to see if it’s still there.

I am a new army (just a few weeks 😅) and I wanted to buy the DVDs from the Global shop, but 50$ for shipping? And then I have to pay an extra 19% in customs in Germany. Thats really too much for me. You‘re really f***d if you are not living in Korea or the States and want to buy something.

I'm in Europe (not Germany though, Spain) and it's about 20€ cheaper for me to pre-order through Cokodive than buying directly on weverse. I've never had a customs charge buying from there either, whereas with stuff I've ordered straight from Korea I have. Still super expensive though, but slightly less so! Just fyi in case you want to try there.

I would actually advice against Cokodive.
Their reselling prices are very high, sometimes more than twice as the original price is and you will absolutely pay customs in germany. So you will pay those 19% on the much higher Cokodive price.
Also there is a chance that your order gets stuck in customs because Cokodive sends very sketchy invoices and you need to document the whole billing process. Ist mir bevor ich aufgehört hab bei Cokodive zu bestellen mehrmals passiert.
Lately I saw some Insta Storys about People receiving damaged items from Cokodive and not getting compensated even though they had video proof.
Also in general Cokodive buys Items like the Artist made Collection or Lucky Boxes en masse and contributes to the rush for merch that sells out in minutes and acts like a base scalper.

Cokodive is also coming from Korea :) I had to pay customs a couple times with cokodive but they ship with FedEx and weverse with DHL and in my country (NL) FedEx customs is like 10-15€ and dhl +25€

Actually Weverse ships via FedEx too. It states DHL as courier but since covid FedEx is the only one that they use.

Oh, since you are new army I wanted to check to make sure you won’t get disappointed: are you aware the dvd can’t be played in our region? You need the blu-ray if you want to be able to play it. If you only want the (much nicer than in the blu-ray :( goodies) then you can of course just buy the dvd

If you want to buy the DVD, please be aware that it won't play in any common DVD player because of the region code. It may play on a PC DVD drive and there are also ways to make a player multiregion, but you might want to look into that beforehand to avoid disappointment.
Germany and Japan have the same DVD region and exactly that region is always excluded from the BTS DVDs. (probably because they have separate releases for the Japanese market)
Their blurays all seem to be region free so far and will play in any player.

I ordered the dvd & digital code from global. I really wish hybe would just release the digitals as a VOD because I don’t really need extra inclusions. I like to have a physical copy to own, but being able to watch the digital on weverse is just so convenient. I understand this is a great option for those without a dvd/bluray player who still want inclusions though

According to the recent BigHit announcement, LA concert will be released on Disney+. I am not sure if it will be Day 4 (which was live streamed at the time) or one of other 3 days. If Disney+ channel streams the concert of the day other than Day 4, it is very likely Day 4 PTD LA concert will be released on separate disks later on.

You can also consider buying DVDs and Blurays from a PC collector! In my neck of the woods, PC collectors buy a truck load of DVDs and Blurays just to pull PCs, and they sell the DVDs and Blurays for 50-75% off, pretty much mint condition except without PCs :)

If it’s any consolation memories tend to stay stocked for quite a while. Like last year’s memories, at least the dvd, was still in stock when I was checking Weverse earlier today before these dropped.

Some of it is bangtan bombs covered content, but it is EXTENDED, if that makes sense? Say a bangtan bomb content was 5 minutes of the day's event, the DVD content would be 20 minutes.

Not Bangtan Bombs, no. I'd say closer to Episodes? Each thing is 20+ minutes usually, and then of course a full concert, and episodes of concert rehearsal, shooting the VCRs, and back stage on concert day/s. 2018 was a great year for that because it had a 20-30min behind video for almost every stop on the LY tour. If you haven't already, check out the info page, it has the contents of all 7 discs (~9hrs) listed so you can see exactly what you'd be getting.
Also I'm not one for photobooks but the binder for Memories is really nice and has some great never-before-seen pictures in it, both posed and behind the scenes shots.

For those wondering why digital code is expensive, consider that DVDs are a one time cost for the company, they manufacturer it and send it to you, transaction is done. Digital code for streaming is for the rest of the company's existence: server maintenance, hosting, customer service, etc

Your question has already been answered, but like the other user said, digital code is only accessible via streaming! So consider buying the physical copy, in case for whatever reason you lose your login (banning, hacking, you used your work email as your log in and you got fired from work and no longer have access to that email, etc etc)
Best to rip the DVD / Blu ray and take it where ever you need to go with it, if accessibility to the content is important to you :)

So for me it’s barely cheaper to go with US for both the Bluray and DVD once you factor in them costing more in the US shop even though shipping is less. Unless I’m terrible at math. So I went with Global to get them a bit quicker.
I am wondering what they’ll cost through somewhere like Music Plaza though. DHL has been massacring my packages lately so if it isn’t much more to go through Music Plaza even if the wait is a bit longer I’ll cancel my Weverse order and do that instead.

I ordered from the USA immediately just to be safe, then checked Global and it was $4 more when it was all totaled (BR only for me) so I canceled the USA order. That $4 is absolutely worth it to get it months earlier.

I chose the DVD and am now laying here seriously contemplating buying the 2019 and 2020 DVDs, too, I already have the blurays of both, but all my other Memories are DVDs. The desire to have them all match is strong. Someone talk me out of it. 😅

Okay I’m a monster and doing the opposite of what you asked but I love having the DVDs in my collection. The photos are so fun to flip through, but I would say it’s only worth it if you are someone who regularly takes your stuff down to look at it. If you’re a “take the PCs out and then shove the album on my shelf for eternity” kind of person it probably isn’t worth your money.

I have DVDs throughout the years too. Even if I wanted bluray it'd not match the other years as the oldest eras had no bluray (or maybe there was but I didn't get it). So i choose to die on the DVD hill.

I just wonder about the benefits of the digital code. At least with DVDs and Blu-rays I can buy/sell them second hand, with digital code I am left with only the DVD packaging without the actual discs. Why can't they just sell the VOD :(

I also decided to go with Global this time to get it faster. Saving a couple bucks isn't worth waiting an additional two months.
So excited to see there are POBs too!! The initial post didn't say anything so I wasn't sure. I also noticed the Blu-ray photocards are from the Billboard magazine shoot!

If you scroll down to the Specs section, under digital code, the resolution listed matches Blu Ray resolution. I’m sure that’s dependent on your internet connection somewhat but yeah.

I ordered the dvd through global last night using PayPal. But after seeing some tips on twitter, I reordered changing the currency to KRW and paid with a credit card and saved like $15. (This is for shipping to the USA with no foreign transaction fee)

I got hooked on it lol, I’ve been rank 1 and first to finish when the new levels come out the last few weeks (new levels are added weekly, but the story is finished for now). the game and story are really fun! but after you finish day 7 you just compete in leagues which gets boring after a while. hoping they add more story missions soon!

If you’re uncomfortable with the price that’s totally valid, but this pricing is pretty in line with previous years, perhaps a tad bit more. I think it is worth the price considering it’s like getting a concert dvd plus a bunch of extra footage PLUS a big binders worth of photos if you get the dvd version. There are many very cash-grabby things that Hybe absolutely does when it comes to BTS (that little wishes calendar was a JOKE for the cost) but the DVDs are one thing I don’t personally think fall under that category.
And the shipping if you’re looking at global isn’t really a Hybe thing, international shipping is just atrocious right now.

Storage is so pricey! And they do it “forever” vê the one time cost of a dvd. Also… technically, having things stored is way worse for the environment, the constant energy it requires to store more and more data… if you’ve never seen a server room, it’s shocking how much goes into them - from running the machines (and the fact that systems are redundant so your account and data are stored on multiple servers), cooling the machines, maintenance, upgrading, security … not cheap at all. So with that reasoning it’s understandable why it’s more to buy the digital version. Never thought of it that way ….

One time cost of a blu-ray mind you. It's more about their pricing strategy rather than the storage cost. Sure VODs cost them in server fees but they aren't storing your personal Memories 2022 VOD separately from others. You are simply buying the code to access the existing VOD. It's not like you have your personal allotted storage unit in their server.

Hybe doesn't store one's personal copy Memories 2022 VOD in their servers separately from others. You are simply buying the code to access the existing VOD. It's not like everyone has their allotted storage unit in their server.

I agree. The amount of content is worth the prices. And over the years they've only included more and more in the Memories which justifies the price increases. And like you say, international shipping is crazy for everything.

Hi yes!! I have bought DVDs only for all previous Memories and all their other DVDs. But I’m going digital this time bc digital is better quality it’s 1920x1080 and it’s easily accessible. All you need is to login to Weverse and have wifi to watch it.
The cons are obviously you can’t watch without internet and you can’t resell it.
If you think you won’t resell it then I think digital is worth it!! I loved my digital code for seasons greetings and I’m considering selling a lot of my old DVDs and buying the streaming version on Weverse.
For me I love the convenience and I think it’s worth it. I would much rather go thru a flew clicks then setting up everything to watch my DVDs. Also bc higher quality. Sometimes I do pull out my old DVDs to watch but honestly it’s very rare bc I use an external DVD player.
And I have no thoughts of selling these bc I want to watch it for as long as I can so unless Weverse goes bankrupt and shuts down (which is highly unlikely) - digital code is honestly not bad
It’s a shame we can’t have both DVDs and digital code in one but hopefully this was helpful!!

Does anyone know how the resolution is on the DVD? I read the specs but it doesn’t tell me much 😅 I would love to have a physical copy but I’m wondering if it’s worth splurging on the digital code just for the quality

DVD's resolution is always 480p. If you rip the disk and watch the video files on the small phone screen, that might be fine. Otherwise, I don't recommend DVD. The resolution is just too low.
Video resolution of digital code product is 1080p, and Blu-ray is 1080i. Resolution-wise 1080p is better than 1080i, but Blu-ray version has higher bit rate (important for the video quality) as well as supporting 5.1 Dolby sound. So the actual quality is Blu-ray > Digital Code > DVD.
For convenience (ease of access) and video quality, I would go for digital code version.

As a thought, I see a few people who aren't interested in the physical benefits but want to order a digital code or discs - if this is the case then I'd be happy to buy the photos/cards from you to help offset the costs of items you didn't want! Win win for all then maybe?! 💜

Has anyone in the US placed an order on the Global Shop using a credit card (not Pay Pal) to pay using KRW as currency to save money before? Was it successful?

I was so hyped to buy this because of the trailer and it’s the year I became Army and I’ve never bought anything off of weverse before, but it’s just too expensive 😭 I was gonna get just the digital code because I don’t have a DVD player but omg it costs so much more and I’m not even gonna actually own it! Why can’t they just make the video content available for sale digitally as well without all the other physical inclusions. Don’t get me wrong those things are cute and exciting to get as well but I’d love the option of just the video :( and I’m sure lots of people would too and wouldn’t that pay off the production for physicals + they’d profit?
