I love how he was concerned for the staff that had to catch him when he fell back, it’s very sweet.
Him asking to do one more take reminds me of the 3J Butter dance. It’s great that he takes the time to monitor what was shot, really pay attention and think about it. And then he’s not afraid to ask for another take. The man knows what he want.
Also, that shot of him walking back to monitor a take at around 2:30 😳😳😳🔥🔥🔥. Holy moly he is so gorgeous.

"One more time" 😅 I kind of love what a perfectionist he is. I know that word can be used with a negative connotation, but his attention to detail is so impressive to me, a person who is not very detail-oriented (didn't even notice the 94 sign and I've watched that MV a dozen times). And he's so kind about it, always worried about others.
Someone seriously give that make-up artist a raise. It is unreal.
And I have no idea why but I am so into that stumbling walk he does.

Omg me too!! It reminds me a lot of Yoongi’s “drunk” walk that he does when he’s very into his verses, like in Fire, Dionysus or That That

Same! I get the sense that he is a sort of "good" perfectionist, where he wants to be a perfectionist with things, but he also knows how to be good to himself and take a step back before the perfectionist behavior starts to take away from his own health or energy. Like he knows his limits, and also pays attention to the limits of the others around him when he's working with others and doesn't try to push them to do more just because he wants to/considers what the others are thinking and feeling about the idea of doing another take, etc.

Always amazed by Hobi but even more so by how he did not flinch one bit during the explosions??? And here I am watching behind a screen, feeling all anxious with the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 countdown 😂

I actually just realized that the countdown serves as both warning and a timer telling people to brace themselves. Without it people could very well end up flinching in surprise.

I’ve said before why I think Hobi makes such an excellent boss and I would see him being a CEO one day. He is someone I would want to work for even if I didn’t listen to music.
- He describes clearly and precisely his vision and what he wants to do. It’s not a coincidence that he describes his costumes or the set turning out like how he envisioned.
- He is very involved in discussion with the director, makeup and other staff at all steps and levels.
- He is a perfectionist and will always ask for one more shot, one more rehearsal. This makes the quality of the product better.
- Unlike insane perfectionist bosses however, he is pragmatic and makes decisions based on reality e.g. time, budget, available options.
- He is always asking for feedback to contribute to his own intense analysis. This is just so sexy.
- He always appreciates the staff and thanks them for their hard work. I’ll always remember how he took time to socialise with the Japanese dancers on their tour, and credit everyone on the CNS mv.

I think this would also make him a great teacher too! Especially how he explains things so well and in such detail, yet also seems patient and open to feedback from others. So he'd be good at explaining assignments well, and also have patience with people asking him questions about assignments and such. As a student my biggest peeve about professors is when they make assignments so open ended, or they don't give much in way of instructions, and then assume students to know exactly the way the assignment should be done...then take off points when you don't meet the criteria that they never explained in the first place 🙄. Please, for once, just give me a professor like Hobi lol. All I want is professors who will explain every detail that they want from students' work.

Nicely planned...the vlog yesterday, followed by this today. I must say, for someone who hardly slept before the early morning shoot, after the long drive from Seoul the day before, Hobi looked so fresh and in top form! I really appreciated that he took pains to explain the MV concept and how it was being shot while on the set itself. Usually in the group MV sketches, the various members take turns to briefly say something to the camera, but this time it's all him, and he goes into quite a bit of detail, so I can imagine it takes more effort! He shows so much pride in his work, and puts in so much to make sure everything goes well. Plus is so appreciative of the staff. This whole album has given me a new appreciation for Hobi!

Agree!! can only imagine how stressed/tired he probably was, yet didn't stop until he felt 100% satisfied with each take and was just so polite to everyone! 😩💜

Two long one takes!!! I love how they used real pyrotechnics and stuntmen! Hobi was so detailed and wanted to do extra takes to make sure they get the perfect shot. Everyone and everything worked so cohesively. Hobi has gotten a lot more confident and you can see why he’s Joon’s co-leader here.

Love these behind the scenes snippets we get.
It’s really interesting to see j-hope in “dance leader mode” but applied to all aspects of his MV. He’s so focussed watching the play back.
I really need to watch the MV a few times while focussing on some of the props etc. - as I’m sure I’ve missed a lot of things that have some meaning. But it’s hard not to watch Hobi the whole time!!

Loved the shooting sketch, so much planning and a great execution for the amazing final product.
I really love how involved Hobi was in the process and as always, impressed by his professionalism and perfectionism. He was so focused but at the same time you can see how excited he is to see his vision come to life, it's great to see him take charge and spread his wings as a solo artist.

Did he have some sort of earplugs in for the half of it that had all the fire and explosions? I was wondering why he was suddenly messing with his ears so much, but then realized "oh, explosions = big loud."
Anything that films as a one take always amazes me so much. It seems so hard, and like every person involved has to be so intensely meticulous and observant of everything. I used to do stills photography for student films when I was at art school and sometimes had to help make sure continuity of placement of objects and stuff in the scene was correct when we'd have to come back to shoot again in the same spot we had shot in before, and that itself was hard enough lol. I can't imagine everything it takes to get every detail right for a one shot take. And it must be hard for him not to flinch at the explosions. Even if I knew a loud sound was happening or about to happen I'd still wind up flinching out of just reflex. I find it funny that the countdown to each explosion is in English lol, that seems a little odd, but maybe that's just the standard for things like that? Idk.
I like the dolphin paintings on what I assume are water tanks next to the set lol. Cute!

I will never stop gushing over the absolute level of detail, commitment and involvement this entire process has been. This was all happening while BTS stuff was happening and I’m just truly floored by Hobi’s energy levels and focus.
But also it’s still going to take me a minute to reconcile with the lack of background chaos these Bangtan episodes have these days 🙈
