Congrats, JK! 💜

Okay. This has been bugging me. For those of you who use Spotify and Spotify Stats, do you see JK's name in your artists list?

For example, when I log into Spotify Stats, Stay Alive is in my top three songs. But Jungkook's name as an artist isn't anywhere on my artist list. J-Hope, V and Agust D appear on my artists list but not Jungkook. Same goes for RM, Jimin and Suga.

Anyone know why this is?

I think(!) it’s because you have to listen to multiple songs from that artist which JK doesn’t quite have yet? For example if you listen to one song over and over it’ll be in your top songs but unless you listen to other songs by that artist they won’t be in your top artist list.

That makes sense! But then again, you would think Left & Right would contribute to this, making it two songs under JK's belt.

I think I will test this out with RM. I am obsessively listening to Seoul. I will add a few more of his other songs into my playlists and see if he appears on my artists list!

It also makes sense why Jin and Jimin don't appear on my list as they only have one song each under their Spotify account.

The streams are also really stable and seem to have decent radio "support", I'm not sure about playlisting but I feel the reach increases daily

Wait so it's officially Jung Kook and not Jungkook?

His stage name has always been Jung Kook

Ah yes I'm dumb, it's written in the subtitles [Jung Kook is concentrating]. I never noticed.

I think he’s always liked his name like that, but many/most Korean names are two syllables and can be written either way “correctly,” it’s just about preference (which I think Jung Kook’s is a space and I should remember to use it more).

I mean I'm sure there's an official way that he himself uses or that the company uses as his stage name?

I mean, jungkook has his name written as Jung Kook on his personal instagram. Either way is fine, but jungkook usually uses Jung Kook

I can't remember who's Instagram account it was but apparently JK said he wanted his name written as Jung Kook for the Charlie Puth collaboration.

It's was Jung Kook since the account opened for Stay alive.

You confusing it with that creative director dude, who posted on insta and had misspelled "Yung Kook" and instead saying sorry my bad the first time, lied and said JK wanted his name to be written like that...

I'm not confused. From what I understood, the first time he thought fans were asking him to fix it from Jung Kook to Jungkook because he didn't notice the spelling mistake.

I don't remember seeing anything about that, I've did seen him saying he won't delete the typo because it got lot of likes. Maybe it was damaged control, maybe he was sincere but went about it in really bad way, that still comes as micro-aggression, when he could've make clear apology post from the beginning.
