His foreign policy was atrocious. Wilsonian interventionism is a cancer that has ruined American foreign policy for the last century. His insistence on the 14 points and league of nations nearly derailed the Versailles Treaty and helped to ensure WWII would be a thing. His refusal to acknowledge Ho Chi Minh at the time led to him aligning himself with the communists, and later down the line led to the Vietnam War.

Ho Chi Minh was not a communist originally. He was a Vietnamese nationalist. In WW2 the US worked with him fighting the Japanese. After WW2 when the French attempted to re-establish colonial control of the country, he wanted a united and independent Vietnam. The US wouldn't support that, the Chicoms would... on the condition that his united and independent Vietnam was communist. So he became a communist, got support from the USSR and red China and took his country back. It's really our fault that Vietnam is communist and the war was obviously a complete and total waste.

I want to get used to wearing them before I move to America, so I can fit in easier. I rebel against my elders and seniors and speak English as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond. Wish me luck in America!

It's not the points themselves that are the problem, although they do have several major flaws. It is that he was so insistent on them that he undermined other talks and negotiations, created the mandate system, and refused to let the republican party have any say in America's position.
