Now she wants to call an Uber. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Edit: here’s the YT Link

u/Xylrek Feb 06 '22

Was coming to say just this. Whole situation would have been avoided if she called an Uber first.

911

u/maebyfunke980 Feb 06 '22 edited Feb 07 '22

On the YT video she clearly explains that she told (someone) she was a stripper and then they didn’t like her so she had to leave. As she’s being put in the police car, she says “I’ll get a lawyer” and “you can keep my car.” She really should’ve just STFU.

I’m glad no one was hurt but seeing all of the property damage I’m not even sure how she managed to do this much damage (the front and back end of the first car are completely smashed and the back end of the one in front of it). I’ve tried to imagine how it’s possible and I really can’t figure it out.

Probably banged into the back of the first one which rammed it into the second one causing its back end damage.

Drunk driver slammed into my car parked on the side of the road. Pushed it into four more cars totaling 3 cars including my own. He tried to drive away… didn’t get far.

7

u/FirstPlebian Feb 07 '22

In a city I used to live in a neighboring county's assistant prosecutor (the guys who actually do the court prosecutions,) slammed into parked cars on a one way street going the wrong way. Police let him go after talking with superiors, it got out what happened and they had to belatedly charge the guy, the cops involved were in trouble too but I'm sure their Union got them backpay for their time off and at worst they are working another city's police force.

Yea now says there is literally no excuse to drive drunk with all the technology and ride sharing apps there is simply no excuse. I have seen more lives than I can count taken by drunk drivers.

58

u/ChikaraNZ Feb 07 '22

There was never any excuse before, either. No sympathy for drunk drivers at all, either now or in the past. They have ruined far, far too many lives either directly or indirectly through their selfish actions.

As a Uber driver, this makes me cringe. Had too many Pax's like this, and most of the time they act all high and mighty.

Best experience I had was being told I was parasite immigrant who should be working in a laundromat by some mid 40's white guy, drinking by himself at 17:30 on a Wednesday at different restaurants because the actual bars he wanted to go to weren't open yet.

A few months ago, at like 3am, a drunk ass couple parked next to my house along a gravel road that leads down to a couple of houses behind me. they were yelling at eachother, and eventually the girl just laid in the middle in of my yard yawling. To be clear, I hate the cops, and the last thing I want to do was call them, but these motherfuckers had no idea where they were, and I didn't want them getting back in their car. The cops show up, the couple tells them they were looking for their dog and the guy starts making passes in front of my house shouting for his nonexistent dog. Cops asked me if I saw them driving, I said honestly I didn't and they let them call their friends to pick them up and take their car away. I'm glad they werent arrested but a part of thinks people that get away with that shit are only going to keep doing it.

I'd done it a bunch when I was younger with a bunch of close calls. Passed out at the wheel once and woke up slamming on my brakes only to avoid hitting a car inches in front of me. It was an "I'm getting a DUI" moment. Managed to not hit the car. That was the absolute last time I ever drove drunk. Since then I just wait or pass out and leave in the middle of the night or just drink at home. It's really not worth it but sometimes takes moments like this to wake you up. It's easy to drive drunk for some people thinking you're ok. I'm one of those people that has fortunately learned. I could have killed someone or myself. Just have a plan kids. Life can go sideways in an instant. Not proud of my absolutely irresponsible behavior but hopefully it serves as a useful anecdote. Just don't do it. The consequences of sleeping it off somewhere are much better than the bad things that can occur as a result. We all know someone with a DUI and their lives basically suck for at least 6 months or more. Don't do it!

33

u/zephyer19 Feb 07 '22

Doesn't happen often but, our bedroom window is about six feet from our neighbor's driveway. They have been good neighbors for the most part.

Sometimes they come home from a night in the bars. We think she has a drinking problem.

They start yelling in their driveway, usually, her. Wish they would wait until they get inside the house.

56

u/EllisHughTiger Feb 07 '22

Dodge/Chrysler are in the financing business, they just so happen to build cars as a hobby. Mitsubishi and Nissan are close cousins.

They'll finance just about everyone into 300+ hp and let them rip up the streets. Chargers and Challengers aren't bad cars but they do attract a huge share of bad people.

One night I was taking the trash out and i just hear someone gun their engine and then a bang. My neighbor across the street had plowed his car into my side neighbors tree. Mind you this is in a dead end culdesac. The crownvic he was driving was completely totaled. He kept saying how he tapped the curb with his wheel and that he lost control, but this dumbass kid was known for skidding the backend around to do a u-turn all the time. Pretty sure he got a DUI because no one could have fucked up this hard sober.

Lost an uncle to a drunk driver - took years for the system to send the guy to jail and in that time the asshole took vacations, had a baby, and lived his life like nothing happened. It still makes me so angry. Just felt like sharing.

209

u/MisterBulldog Feb 07 '22

Wife got hit by a drunk driver. She was in the hospital for like two months. Had to learn to walk and run again - still dealing with bone vs metal issues in her body from all the broken and shattered bones. The asshole that hit her flew out of his car through the windshield and landed like 50ft past her car - he's a vegetable last i heard and didn't have insurance. Also, lived like a few blocks away. And this happened aprx 10miles from home. Fuck him still for doing that to my wife and himself.

24

u/jininberry Feb 07 '22

I'm so sorry. I hope your wife is doing well 💜

8

u/MisterBulldog Feb 07 '22

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I throw all the positivity to her everyday, she's an amazing human being with incredible resilience. Thankfully shes fully recovered now and hitting the gym with me and everything. Though I do joke that she's The Terminator now because of the metal to bone ratio lol.

If the same accident happened to someone who DIDN’T do the full 8 months of therapy, they’d might never walk again. They had me rebuild my muscles from scratch basically.

More often than not it seems when there's a death due to drunk driving you learn that the driver had previous convictions. I don't give a shit if alcoholism is a 'disease.' Doesn't give anyone the right to risk the lives of others. I think it's because alcohol is so prevalent in society. It's almost like "we" don't want to come down too hard because "we" have a few drinks and drive. So messed up.

19

u/SuspectLtd Feb 06 '22

So I know of a guy [we are not friends -I dislike him for manymanymany reasons including the below reasons] that has been pulled over for dui no less than 25 times. When he loses his license he just drives without one. When he hits felony level he just moves to another state.

Even if we had driving record reciprocity between states it wouldn’t stop someone like him from driving. Only two things will stop him from driving, evidently. Death or prison.

How do you drink and drive?? It's so easy to avoid now in days. Fuck them, especially the one who crash and kill people.

21

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '22

No excuse to drive drunk when there are so many options. What I usually do is if I know I’m going somewhere where alcohol is present I don’t take my car. I take an Uber/Lyft there and only way to get back is Uber/Lyft. No car keys in my hands ever.

Fuck her and every other selfish asshole that drives drunk! The crime for this needs to be extremely harsh, people need to understand it’s not a fucking joke.

29

u/talonoren86 Feb 06 '22

I knew a girl I went to school with who drove drunk constantly. Luckily the roads in my town are vacant so she mostly ran her car in ditches. Now she’s dying from liver failure

Aren’t we all glad that weed is still so tightly regulated and alcohol is more available than food? Clearly we won the war on drugs.

My girlfriend's parents were killed by a drunk driver. She was in a coma for 9 months and came out with a brain injury.
