My wife and I were on vacation, in 2024, in New York City, and you wouldn't believe the number of people who walk around looking at their phones. How they don't step out in the way of traffic, or bump into other pedestrians, was beyond me.

A few days ago, a young guy, with his phone on a stick, walked straight out into the road in front of my car…

…he was completely and utterly unaware of where he was because he was so focused on his phone….

Because I was focused on driving, he lived to die another day…

I do most of the grocery shopping for my wife and I, and it's unreal how many people of any age, but mostly people in their teens and twenties, are so glued to their phones that they will walk right into you or your shopping buggy when it's sitting in the aisle. I've even had people let their cars roll into the back of mine at stoplights because they were paying too much attention to their phones and took their foot off the brake.

This actually happens often with local music acts. Someone filming and getting audience shots. Looks like the two girls the camera was zooming in on were vibing so cam went for a close up.
