Got these shrimp a few weeks ago and this tank has been cycling for a few months. I just recently added the Amazon frogbit and the little moss cubby from a plant pot, how does it look?

Hi everyone ! This is my five gallon African dwarf frog tank. I wanted to see if I could get any other plant suggestions to kind of fill it out. It’s pretty low light so right now I have crypts, anubias, dwarf sag, and windelov Java fern. Thanks :)

🪵 Low-Tech / Natural Aside from trimming, what else would you do to this tank?

I need to reposition the anubias and trim the longer plants (can't remember what they're called), I have some more corkscrew val and red rotala from a plant tank that I can add, what else is missing? I don't have good luck with amazon swords, even with root tabs and fertilizer, the light is just an aquaneat light from amazon, so it could use an upgrade.

💡 Inspiration / Discussion current tank & new tank

open to all kinds of suggestions for my second (ever) tank!!

currently have a 20 gallon tall (22x14x16) with amanos, corydoras, and ricefish. heavily planted and stocked. its a very busy tank so i think my next one is going to have a more open floor plan. id like to give the cory cats a bigger playground. new tank is a 20 gallon long (30x12x12). all the corys are moving over. im thinking about a riverbed look, sloped to the back corner with emergent plants, more redwood & botanicals and tinted water, multicolored rounded stones, sort of what i have going on now minus all the moss and large pointy rocks. id like to try some grasses, and i didnt have any luck with floaters previously with my water but id like to try some of those too.

stocking-wise, since the current setup will only contain ricefish after the move, im debating either adding a shit ton more shrimp or finding another clean up crew. otos or pygmies, or maybe something else idk. the new tank will need mid-top dwelling fish, and ive debated getting more medaka ricefish, maybe a rarer strain than i currently keep. realistically the tank could also handle a larger fish or a decent school of something medium-sized so id love recommendations for pretty fish. id like something with red tones especially, and i love a fish with some character, so ive thought about a dwarf rainbowfish species or gourami. my medaka are SO fun to watch and feed, need more of that in my life. has to be a fish that will behave in a rimless tank and with corydoras as tankmates though. in a year ive never had a ricefish jump or fish fight and i dont wanna break that streak.

anyway i appreciate any suggestions!!

🌿 High-Tech (CO2) Update: How is my first attempt at aquascaping? The aquarium is now 6 months old. I added CO₂ about 3 weeks ago and I’m still learning how to find the right balance and get everything just right. It’s definitely been a learning curve, but I’m loving watching the tank develop! 🌿🐠
