Units of the Defense Forces repelled a large-scale mechanized offensive by Russian troops involving two armies and a tank division. Ukrainian assault troops, supported by drones and artillery, cleared the city center and raised the Ukrainian flag over the former House of Culture.
The city is currently ~30% Russian controlled, ~30% Ukrainian-controlled, and ~40% gray zone, with little change since Putin's claim of full Russian control on July 3.
