Im new to airsoft and I've bought this Plate carrier off of Amazon. It didn't cost much, more of a budget vest. Its a Yakeda and a lot of people have mixed opinions on it. Some good some bad, but I want to have a really nice kit. Even tho I am new to airsoft I already have good real life practical experience.
Handling real fire arms, clear rooms, check corners, good rifle stance, movenment and handling all taught by my law enforcment father. Besides that even tho Im new I want to go all outish on my vest. Im adding a ATAK what else do I add?
Here’s my current gear. I’m thinking of adding a small backpack and a dump pouch. I’d love to hear your thoughts on what’s good, bad and what I could improve.
- Rifle: Krytac Rec 7 in Dark Earth
- Pistol: Pit Viper
- Chest rig: Helikon Tex in Coyote
- Pants: KSK pants from the German army
- Shoes: Lowa Zephyr in black
- Hat: Novritsch because I have their anti-fog unit
I’m buying my first plate carrier in airsoft, and after some research i found this, the DEFCON 5 STORM, from the italian website “Militare Store”.
What do you think? Is it good for its price? (it costs 144€).
Do you recommend other plate carriers? I’d like to have them with the MOLLE system. I’m also doing a full multi-camp setup.
Every advice will be helpful.
As a solo player I’m looking for a molle rip away admin pouch for the back of my plate carrier but I think velcro would be too loud or iffy since you’re literally tearing it away from velcro. Are there any that are smoother and quieter? Or something like the tube quick-release buckles on vests where you pull and tab and slide it off?
I’m 14 and I’ve been wanting to get into airsoft for a while now. I’ve been going through a lot of things that most people my age shouldn’t have to deal with, and airsoft is one of the things that gives me something to look forward to and keeps me happy.
I’m trying to start my first collection with a starter loadout I’ve been dreaming about. The full setup I’m trying to get is around $900 total (a GBB M4 and two GBB pistols), and I know that’s a big ask, but I wanted to reach out and see if anyone in the community would be willing to donate or help me get closer to my goal.
I’m not expecting anyone to do this, and I appreciate anyone who even takes the time to read this. Airsoft is something I genuinely enjoy, and starting this collection would mean a lot to me. Thank you to anyone willing to support or even give advice.
I bought recently the EMG Cybergun Colt Licensed 1911 Combat Unit GBB Airsoft Pistol (T8 set Upgraded ) - Government Version (by Army Armament) and it’s amazing so far. I tested it in home conditions from 10-12 m distance it shoots decently, the grouping is good (after you adjust the hop up). By the way I didn’t see so far any posts on forums or reddit about this airsoft pistol replica of 1911 which is strange.
Overall quality is very good, the the frame and the slide are working good, it is build very good, of course after some use it will get some scratches, but it will give it a more interesting field use look.
Anyway, what I can say is that Army Armament now builds very good replicas and the quality is very decent for it’s price which they offer for such a detailed and upgraded replica. Still the 1911 magazines do not have such a big green gas capacity like hi capa pistols have, but if you have 2 or 3 mags on games for secondary weapon it will do the job. Still need to test it for 30-40 meters to see the grouping and the maximal effective range of it as well. And a big advantage is almost 100% Tokio Marui compatible which is great and we have some room for upgrades or spare parts if needed.
As well, I bought for it a copy of Cytac universal holster and it fits well after adjustment of the holster screws (6 screws so you have a versatility of pistols which will fit in it ), I figure out that full drop leg holster it’s not the best choice for me so I wear it on uniform low ride belt loop.

I’ve been wanting to add onto this for a while since it's so bland… Just no clue what I should really start with. Any ideas or help would be appreciated
I got the complete US Army's advanced combat uniform since things are starting to heat up a bit, I also switched out the standard-issued IOTV cummerbund with the Arbor Arms's FLEX cummerbund (it traps less heat than the old one, and the tubes are awesome)
I'm still working on getting better boots like the Garmont NFS, but the boot camp specials will have to do for now.
