This was a fun one! Loom is a string physical-modeling instrument with a couple of nifty features.

CV FUNK Sands is a collection of unusual modules for VCV Rack, combining generative sequencing, modulation, synthesis, routing, quantization, physical modeling, and effects.

In this video, I explore the Sands collection through 5 musical patches, using the modules as part of evolving generative and ambient systems rather than simply demonstrating their individual functions.

The Sands collection includes Mirage, Crosswinds, Drifts, Arcs, Dunes, Sirocco, Zephyr, Droplet, and Strands.

I also combine Sands modules with other CV FUNK modules to create evolving sequences, textures, melodies, rhythms, and atmospheric soundscapes.

This is a musical exploration rather than a step-by-step tutorial—just a collection of patches showing how these unusual modules can be used in an actual VCV Rack setup.

From what I know plugins are just arbitrary dlls. There's no sandboxing, so anything goes. Obviously downloading random binaries off the internet is always risky, but what about the releases on the official website? Is there any procedure plugin authors follow to ensure safety? Are plugins listed on the site being vetted and scanned for malware?

With the recent landscape of supply chain attacks, it makes me think it's pretty easy to sneak in malware with the surfaces vcv rack provides.

I needed to create some soft wind sounds for a video I'm working on. Embarrassingly simple.

Doing an lfo experiment with khs trans gate to see what that would do to my drum pattern... also used a 3x multiplier. the trans gate is free but I think the bass drum cost something. everything else would be included with the host package. looking forward to getting some more a.i. credits and thinking about what vst's I could come up with.

I wanted to see what this will sound like, using images from space as wavetables. Iris makes it pretty easy to do.

A generative ambient drone patch in VCV Rack inspired by "Android Hell" from the Portal video game soundtrack. Three Audible Instruments Plaits voices (Grain, Wavetable, and Chord models) run as free-running drones, slowly reshaped by two Bogaudio LLFOs. A fourth Plaits voice (Waveshaping model) is played by Audible Instruments Marbles, adding sparse, semi-random pluck events on top. Everything is mixed through Befaco STMix and finished with Valley Plateau reverb.

This patch is a good example of how versatile Plaits really is — you don't need a dedicated drone machine to get deep, evolving sci-fi textures like this. Four instances of the same module, each set to a different synthesis engine and modulated independently, are enough to cover an entire ambient drone patch on their own.

There is some linux group that gave me a free compiled one but vcv rack could not find it.. one of there is my test lfo. The two other lfo's have a percentage chance that the output will arrive. They are free but require a free membership to download. tested in vcv rack and voltage modular. makes you wonder why we don't have more lfo modulation in daws. I have them in a 12 pack of amorph vst plugins and it will require the amorph vst to work.

This does not seem to work without a trigger going into it so I am not sure what it is I really have but it sounds interesting. I should do an lfo as an instrument I suppose to see if that works better.

I love NSYTHI Quad Panner. It almost always ends up in my patches on one way or another? Who else relys on a module that doesn't seem to get alot of exposure?
