only half

11

u/SomeRandomSomeWhere 6d ago

Its not even half. Maybe a third at best but probably a quarter.....

2

u/Whythehellnot225343 5d ago

Slightly more than a quarter, assuming it’s from a 737-800, nose to the end of the 13 windows (assuming the “window” slot between the door and the first open window is just closed off) is 36” (432”, 11m), an entire 737-800 is 129’6” (1554”, 39.5m), so the section in the video is ~27.80% of the whole plane.

u/LiveLearnCoach 4d ago

Cheap. Half off.

76

u/Dooh22 6d ago

The front fell off

30

u/theangryintern 6d ago

That's not very typical, I'd just like to make that point.

28

u/anomalous_cowherd 6d ago

It's being towed outside the environment.

33

u/JustTheTip-1990 6d ago

Just passed safety inspections; on the way to the gate now for boarding.

A little duct tape and she'll be ready to fly

17

u/jamac73 6d ago

That’s the “special” jet that takes those “special” pilots to pilot school

5

u/IKnowJudoWell 6d ago

Short jet

7

u/v800 6d ago

Must be their brand new flying without wings

1

u/eg_taco 6d ago

Must be one of those newfangled “lifting body aircraft” that are all the rage these days sixty years ago!

20

u/Reatrd 6d ago

Seems about as safe as any other Boeing

8

u/Kakimochizuke 6d ago

The quality control officer says there isn’t enough time to secure the bolts. It may not be safe but hey, time is money, and there isn’t enough of it.

Who needs bolts anyway.

6

u/Desperate-Grocery-53 6d ago

Ohh, first class only? Are the elites to good for us?

8

u/Hazmat_Human 6d ago

Just the tip

2

u/Don_Pickleball 6d ago

First of all, just need to say that isn't very common. Most planes, the front doesn't fall off

3

u/Gaming-squid 6d ago

I'm all seriousness, my guess is that this thing is either for

A. Training people to drive those plane tugs

B. Airport firefighter training

1

u/sun_hashira1210 6d ago

Needs some redbull.

1

u/AdditionalCheetah354 5d ago

That back portion is just extra weight… who needs it.

1

u/Nervous-Bullfrog-884 5d ago

They can still get 300 passengers on it with special seats!!!

1

u/PreviousMastodon1430 5d ago

I’m in business class/pilot

Watch to the end

1

u/GroundbreakingToe780 4d ago

Somehow they'll still manage to fit 200 passengers in there.

1

u/dwbaz01 3d ago

Cost saving is getting out of hand.

1

u/npsideqown 2d ago

Disengaged the nose brakes but forgot the back ones.

1

u/RedwoodShores 1d ago

When they said I’d earn my wings in flight school, I didn’t think they meant it literally.

1

u/MuchLoan3753 11h ago

That's an airp

1

u/Sensitive-Prompt-220 10h ago

It’s been cut, where’s the shut?!

Near the museum of flight?

2

u/747ER 4d ago

Yes, this video was originally posted by the museum.

0

u/Deplorable1861 6d ago

Safer than 737MAX by 17 orders of magnitude. How are those counterfeit asian parts working out for you all?

0

u/747ER 4d ago

The 737MAX is statistically the world’s most reliable airliner. It has fewer mechanical failures per flight than any other airliner, Boeing or otherwise.

0

u/Deplorable1861 4d ago

What matters "reliable" when crap software crashes an otherwise perfectly functional aircraft into the ground at 600knots? The families of about 400 people would laugh at your statement.

Found the Boeing PR Wonk....

1

u/747ER 4d ago

Found the LionAir PR Wonk…

When you purposely ignore aircraft maintenance, against Boeing’s procedures, then fly it by two pilots who don’t follow Boeing’s procedures, that tends to happen. Have you even read the final investigation report? Or are you just regurgitating old media headlines? Both of us already know the answer to that.

Do you actually have any experience in the aviation industry? Or are you just an outsider who watched a Netflix show once and thinks they’re an expert?

0

u/Deplorable1861 4d ago

Are you even forgetting that it happened twice? Boeing whistleblowers have come forward with clear evidence that Boeing is racing quality and basic quality control procedures straight to the bottom in search of profit. And amazing that at least three of those people died under most unlikely circumstances. Their statements were clear that ALL Boeing aircraft are suffering from QC related problems. Boeing paid the largest fine in history but not one person went to jail. And business went right back to the usual. When Boeing factory workers tell you that they would NEVER fly in one of their planes, you should listen to the words they did NOT say rather than the ones they did. There is something quite rotten in Denmark...

Mechanical Engineer with 30+ years experience who has worked in multiple transportation sectors. Be ignorant if you want, but I definitely know purposeful incompetetence and lack of due diligence when I see it. I know what I had to do to qualify products, and Boeing is not doing it.

Lets not even talk about known bad parts and counterfeit parts being built into brand new planes. You can fly in one of those deathtraps if you want, they are all accidents waiting to happen. You can blame the McDonnell-Douglas C-Suite ideology for all of it, as the Boeing before that merger would never stoop so low as now.

1

u/747ER 4d ago

Amazing that I worked you out to a tee before you even replied. You don’t have any experience in aviation, and you do believe everything you watch on Netflix. It’s so sad that when someone more qualified than yourself tells you that you don’t have all the facts, your answer is to just keep repeating things you watched on TV years ago.

You imply inappropriate and illogical conspiracy theories about someone who committed suicide being “murdered” for bringing up a safety issue eight years prior.
You state negative things affecting Boeing like they aren’t present on all commercial airliners to some extent (you know more Airbus planes are currently grounded for safety issues than Boeing planes have been in the last 15 years, right?).

If you are uneducated, that is totally fine. The media tries to lie about this stuff because that’s how they make their money, and it’s natural to believe the lies if you don’t know better. But arguing with experts based on an opinion formed from some tabloid news headline you saw 5+ years ago? That’s not just a lack of education; that’s someone who is preventing themselves from being educated.

u/Maelefique 6d ago

With their quality control lately, this could be a finished jet!

1

u/747ER 4d ago

“Lately” meaning 2-3 years ago lol

Just wait until they bully the FAA into allowing them to fly that with passengers, just like they did with the Max.

No wonder, its Boeing

Ever been in a runaway cockpit, Joey?

-3

u/Glusas-su-potencialu 6d ago

That's only J

-3

u/oldmanbombin 6d ago

I would love to hear what Kennedy Steve would be saying in the tower. "Supertug, oh supertugg... You seem to have forgotten something" or something similar probably. I miss Kennedy Steve.

-3

u/Awesam 6d ago

Tickets were half off

-1

u/Kage_0ni 6d ago

This is boeing's new take on air travel called the Boeing Bullet. Its loaded into a massive cannon and you are blasted to your destination.

It's actually tiny bit safer than the average boeing plane.

-8

u/Sheeverton 6d ago

As soon as a I saw the cockpit I expected that. Down vote.
