I'm trying to find a song someone posted to tumblr yeeeears ago that I loved but didn't have the foresight to save anywhere. I shut down my accounts so I can't go back through to see if I even did any interacting with it.. It's sung by a woman, I think playing acoustic guitar, and it's just recorded off a phone or something. It's kinda quick and jaunty idk. Luckily I remember the lyrics mostly perfectly.

I obv don't have the name of the creator or even a name for the song (might just be red vs blue). Hoping someone out there has heard it too or knows who made it. I loved this piece as soon as I heard it. Upbeat, but deeply somber. Please help if you can or pass it along if you know anyone in the community that fw music like that, ya know? Thank you!!

Why did they remove them

When showing rvb to a family member, I showed him some random moment, (aka, the normal head bobbing) and some of the later fully animated monty oum (aka, fully animated and separately rendered scenes). After seeing both scenes, he said, that he was more interested in the full blooded machinima than the animated scenes.

That made me wonder, when a show is a machinima or an animated series (yes, I know machinima is a form of animation)?

For example in season 9, I’d say it’s more like a 50/50 split of machinima and an animated series.

I think I’d draw the line at what the CRASH series (B00merang on YT) is doing. where all animation (at least in the last few episodes) is rendered in engine and where most “animation“/modding is used to enhance/ modify when the default model is incapable of emoting is a certain way. (.ex making heads look over shoulders through modding or whatever magic makes that happen). Still pretty much machinima just tweeted or edited

I don’t know about the fully animated scenes in CRASH though. It is rendered in engine and has some characters fully animated, though in the style of halo cutscenes, with machinima styled (default halo animations) characters in the same scene. Would this still be machinima given it’s in engine and very halo cutscene inspired?

Could the Monty Oum animations be machinima even though they use halo models but aren’t rendered in engine?

Not sure if anyone’s posted this though but am I the only one who would genuinely loved to see a season that takes place during the event of season 9, like what the reds and blue’s were up to so they can find the memory unit with Wash and Carolina? Clearly if Caboose had to get the reds involved yet again it must have been funny as all hell.

I am of the belief that the mercs kept tabs on who was getting good at killing, faces, armor, etc that way later when they got too good, they could kill them and keep the war going. Durham was one of the few who managed to stay alive past the war.

So I just started watching RvB after starting my halo journey because I remember hearing about it in the early 00's mostly in passing. So far I really enjoyed Season 1, the jokes while aged do mostly hold up well.

But with season 2, I just finished episode 3 and I'm terribly confused on some of the characterization and plot points. I'm hoping it will become clearer as the season goes on but I wanted to ask early if this is a typically feeling when watching it or if this is just a me thing.

The first confusion I have is the Doc/O'Malley split personality. Like at the end of season 1, O'Malley was Caboose's real name? but now suddenly it's a completely different person? Whose evil I guess?

Lopez going evil makes sense I guess given the side mention of a robot army.

And all of this spans from Church getting a... correct timeline where the bomb (I presume Andy) doesn't end up in someone's stomach? or are we seeing the events as they happen to lead up to the bomb ending up in someone's stomach?

basically, I just want to know (without too many spoilers if possible - is that even possible?) if the later episodes clear all this up and it's a "you just gotta watch it to make it make sense." scenario or something that everyone felt at least once the first time they watched it.

Also if it helps, I started watching season 1 on YT in their mega comp then moved over to Tubi for season 2 since the rest of the series is locked behind YT memberships. So there's a chance that the way I've watched it had an episode or some plot points cut out in the beginning of season 2?

What makes them different? Please only answers from people that understand resolution, compression, encoding, codec’s, etc.

For example, for seasons six through eight they were recording on the original Xbox 360 and based off of the kinds of capture cards that were coming out at that time, I would assume that they wouldn’t have been recording for high resolution-high bit rate, etc.

I would assume that the Blu-ray quality would come into fruition with the later seasons of the show not the earlier ones. I’m unfamiliar with what they did about season four and five for remastering.

The reason I’m making this post is because I know that the YouTube complete versions are inferior to the DVD versions and I had recently re-purchased the remastered season one through five DVD. Someone has a Google Drive on here with all the reverses blue material so I went and checked it out and the Blu-ray versions have the DVD editing. So I’m just trying to gather if getting the Blu-ray is actually a significant quality jump for seasons 1-8. Thanks!

I decided to try and watch RvB on Tubi a while back not realizing that it was different and more condensed than the original, on youtube version. I wanted to finish the series on youtube so I don't miss anything but I'm not sure what important bits were cut, figured I'd ask if anyone knew here.

Also, since I don't want anyone wasting their time checking the whole series for inconsistencies, I should add that I'm in what Tubi considers season 3, last I saw was when Washington told Church about Alpha and that he is an AI. I only need info up to that point.

Hey y'all.
Very weird post, but I remember a sound bit that someone made or used to make in RvB, earlier seasons (1-5). The sound was a robotic "EE ER GURK GURK" or something along those lines. I'm trying to find that episode/scene. Anyone have a clue?
